"They would not ship my order, but gladly charged my debit card. There was no indication that the item was on back order. I cancelled my order on 3/10/2003 after calling to see when my order would ship. The phone rep stated that their system was not working properly and could not check on anything. That was the same story I received via email from my first inquiry on 3/6/2003:

The order has been qued to ship. Unfortunately due to upgrading our

"It is 3/08/03 and I still havent recieved what i ordered from them. I sent them an e-mailasking about it and they told me they are having trouble with their warehouse but they had no trouble taking my money. I will never order from them or their other company techsavings and yes they are taking forever to."

"Ordered a Linksys Dsl Router and a printer server. They were quick to take my money on my credit card but parts did not ship in a week. Called and got the run-a-round that the warehouse was having problems but was told on a thursday they would be shipped Friday or Monday. But on Monday evening their system still showed the order as processing. Called again and still got the answer that the warehouse screwed up and was waiting on one of the items to come in. Turns out one of their other warehouses supposedly had them but they never thought to ship it from there. They told me that it would ship in 24 to 48 hours. Three days later system still showing that the order was processing and called again. Talked to customer service and basically got told it was a warehouse problem yet again. Ask for supervisor and was told by the supervisor that they would try and get it shipped in 24-48 hours but not guarantees. Asked for the supervisors boss and got put on hold for 10 minutes before being hung up on. Tried again the next day and still got told 24-48 hours. As of today (3/7/03) it looked like it might have gotten shipped. Two weeks to get two parts that their web pages says would ship in 2 to 3 days. I would not deal with this company ever again not matter how good the deal is.

Now the item is out of stock and they want me to wait but they charged my CC anyway on the 24th.
Stay away from these people. They do business under TechSavings as well.

"On February 7 I decided to purchase a Pinnacle DV200 FireWire card. This comes bundled with Adobe Premiere 6.0 so they're quite a bargain to get. I checked on PriceWatch and saw EMS Computing as one of the lowest prices at $249, with free shipping.

I was fooled because they have a slick looking and professional website, I'd learned long ago to avoid the storefronts run on search engine portals and cheapo websites put together by someone's buddy. I expected just another regular transaction.

I recieved an invoice by e-mail, and my debit card was charged a few days later. Nothing happened after that. After a week I logged into their website and saw the item was still in process. I e-mailed them and got a quick reply that they had trouble with their warehouses, but it would ship in a few days and I would get a tracking number.

Something wasn't right about that, and I started looking up on this company and came across the various horror stories, and realized I was in for a long haul on this one.

Another week went by. Still in process. I e-mailed again and told them to either tell me where it was or cancel my order. I got a cancellation notice later that day, saying I would get a refund in 5-7 days. Another week went by, still nothing. I got very concerned when I logged into their website and there was no listing for my order, as if it had never been placed or cancelled.

I e-mailed and threatened to file a complaint with my state attorney general for fraud, and demanded a refund. This time there was no reply.

I filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer services, and not coincidentally on the same day (Mar. 10) I received the acknowledgement letter from them I got an e-mail from EMS that their accounting department had reviewed my account and would issue a credit (in the full purchase price) that should show on my card "within 72 hours."

It finally showed up the morning of March 13th. I immediately logged into their website and deleted my credit card info--I just don't trust them. Regardless, I will never ever buy again from a reseller without checking up on their reputation.

"First off let me state that I purchased from ems when they were in the process of moving. However, this can not excuse the horrible way I was treated. They did the old bait and not have tatic. I ordered Logitech z560 speakers(which are awesome btw) and after a couple of weeks they sent me an email stating my order was cancelled. I went ballistic at that point, because they had already charged me and had already sent an email stating that they were in the process of shipping! I demanded that they send me the product I purchased at the price I bought it at. I called a lawyer and contacted the BBB and the florida board of commerce. And you might as well forget getting them to answer the phone. They are a hopeless waste of a company."

"Buyer Beware! EMS Computing is the absolute worst company I have ever did on-line business with. First of all, in my case they used bait and switch tactics to cover up their gross inability to deliver the advertised products. I waited over 75 days for an item they said was out of stock but yet the same item is readily available at local vendors in the small city I live in. I finally demanded a refund and was given a run a round there also. The customer service department is a circus and they could care less about customer satisfaction after they get your credit card number. This outfit should be investigated for fraud!"

"I ordered the logitech Z680 5.1 speakers on Febuary 14, 2003. Today Feb 24th I called to check my order which states it's still proc. I waited on the phone for an hour to talk to customer service..The guy on the other end of the line told me the computers were down and he would send me an e-mail....That hasn't happened! I will never do buisness with these people again..If you read the ratings, then buy from these guys. You deserve to be ripped off...only if I had done this to begin with. And yes...my CC was charged right away! Time for legal action......update: Today feb 26 UPS brought me my speakers...13 days..whats weird, it still shows my order as: Order Released To Warehouse! So they do deliver...just takes a long time. They need to work on customer service, shipping and the way information is passed along within the company.

"Had I read about this company before I ordered my monitors, I'd never have done it.

That being said, however, I'm glad I did it anyway. I ordered two monitors, for what ended up being some of the best prices *and* free shipping. The first was shipped within a week, and we got it just as expected. It was in perfect shape. I also wasn't billed until the shipping order went through.

The second - I knew it was out of stock when I ordered it, and I was willing to let it sit on backorder. Five weeks later, it shipped, and I received it as expected. I was also not billed for this monitor until it shipped.

If I had to come up with a complaint, it was that their order checking tool didn't give any idea of when the backordered item might come in. I'd like to have had a little bit more of a status update.

"Since all EMS Computing has is bad reviews on ResellerRateings I thought I might relate my positive experience with this reseller.

I ordered a Viewsonic P95f+b monitor from EMS Computing on February 6, 2003. I received my order on February 13, 2003. The packaging was well done and FedEx ground shipping was free. The monitor looks great and I have no complaints. There was only one issue that arose. I had to call them on the 11th to ask why the monitor had not shipped. They explained that their warehouse was behind and that the monitor would ship in two days. He asked me to call back if I did not receive a tracking number by then. On the 13th I checked my email and found the tracking number had been sent and that the package was going to arrive that day. Thank goodness I checked my email early in the morning or I would have missed the package, and would have had to wait and extra day. That was my only problem with EMS Computing. They need to work on getting the tracking information to you sooner, other then that a very professional company.

Gargon’s tips for buying items online

Check local stores to see if they have the item so, you can look at.
(Better to see the item will not work for you before you have to ship it back)

Only deal with places that have an 800 number.
(If problem should arise it is cheaper to call them back)

If trying to save by not paying sale tax, always buy outside of the state you live in.
(Taxes can only be charged if the billing address is the same as state ordered from)

Call first to make sure item is in stock
(Never trust website inventory checkers because there are not always up to the minute)

After ordering, try to get tracking number as soon as possible to monitor package movements.
(So you don’t have to wait an extra day for your stuff)

"Website stated Epson c806371 was in stock so I ordered this item and a printer on Jan 2 with 2nd day air shipping. I never received either the items or any correspondence from EMS, so on Jan 9 I emailed asking where the order was. Their response was that they had changed my shipping address and that it now did not match my billing addy. After I restated my billing/shipping addy for them, they finally shipped the printer on Jan 13- but still no c806371, and there was no explanation as to why that item still had not shipped. After a few days of not hearing from them, I emailed again asking where the item was to which they responded "on backorder" even though they had already charged my card for both items as well as 2nd day air shipping on both items. On Feb 2 I cancelled the order and requested a refund for the c806371 as well as the shipping for this item. They responded with a revised invoice showing that they intended to refund the cost of the item, but not the shipping- even though they never shipped the item. It is now Feb 10 and I have not received ANY refund from EMS for the item itself or the shipping. A word to the wise.... STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS "

"I purchased a 19" monitor from this company on Jan 16th. and my credit card was immediately billed for the purchase. However, 12 days and 3 e-mails later, they are still "processing" my order. According to their website they have over 20 of this item in stock so there is no reason for this long a delay. As far as I know, it is fraudulent to charge an account for an item that has not shipped and I am seriously thinking of taking legal action. I have already reported this company to the Better Business Bureau and when I did I found out that they were previously under a different company name. Two businesses, both with the same complaints under them, coincidence I think not. Also, I have been unable to call them to request any information because there phone system is being upgraded until Feb. 1st. I have never, ever, heard of a company having to shut down phone lines to upgrade for a prolonged period of time and I doubt very much the validity of this claim. It would be one thing if there were only the odd complaint here and there, that will happen to any business, but the negative feedback on this company is completely overwhelming and the few people that did put positive comments have probably just been lucky. Another e-mail from them. They said my account would be credited today (they promised it yesterday). The rub - They said it might take 2-3 days to appear on my credit card. Isn't it odd that they can process an order and post it too your credit card in less than 5 minutes. However, it takes 2-3 days to post a credit. I still do not believe that the credit will happen. They just give one excuse (lie) after another. I will all of you posted.

UpDate! I got an e-mail from these folks stating all their policies. Get this- They (and their web site) say that it takes 3-5 business days to process an order because of "free shipping". Do they think we are stupid. NewEgg gives free shipping on most items and it gets here in two days. They also said they would issue a refund to my credit card in (get this) 5-7 business days. Well, today is the 8th day and guess what? no refund yet. Oh, the reason I ordered the Linksys Print Server from them in the first place was because NewEgg did not carry it. I ordered it from TechonWeb and received it two days later. It is installed and running. Again, avoid this company (and techsavings.com) at ALL COSTS. I suspect they are going out of business and are merely fleecing the few suckers left that are stupid enough to order from them (including me).

WARNING! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!
After reviewing all the current complaints at resellerratings.com, I realize that I will probably never get my order. I also noticed that you did charge my credit card with lightning efficiency. Of course, per federal law, you are in violation of charging a customer BEFORE the item is shipped. I couldn't help but notice that you charged my card after 9pm your time. It is interesting how efficient you are a making the charge to my card and ignoring the actual order. The horror stories at resellerratings.com are overwhelming. Therefore, please use you lightning efficiency to cancel my order #00E7-8235357-5954996. It is obvious that you are just one more of many scam artists on the web and I hope you are sufficiently punished for the lack of integrity. I have forwarded a copy of this e-mail to the feds and reseller ratings to join the throngs and masses of people that have found you out. Good luck in jail. I am sure you will find someone who will "love" you.
