"Product purchase was smooth but I received a defective battery. The RMA process was long, tedious, and they would not answer phone calls. It took ~1 month before I even got an RMA number! If you have a similar problem, I suggest telling your CC company to stop payment on the transaction, because EMS Computing is so unreliable with communication. I question if they plan on refunding my money... I strongly suggest avoiding EMS Computing at all costs!"

"Purcashe went smoothly. Product was defective. Contacted by email took several days to respond with RA#. Returned unit did not recieve credit. Contacted by email took several days for response. Was told account had been credited. Three weeks later still no credit. Tried to email and Call on phone no response. Don't buy stuff at emscomputing."

"After cancelling an order due to not shipping, I waited for a credit to my credit card. I also wrote numerous emails to the EMS black hole. I got no response from the company.

In desperation, I filed a dispute with my credit card company and also with the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The Owner of the company is Eric Stockton, but Phil Perry replied to the complaint as follows:

"A credit was attempted however it did not go through. We are contacting the credit card company to see where the error was.I estimate that this will take 5-10 business days and I will refile this form once the credit is finalized."

"A warning to all. EMS is the worst. I have experienced all the same problems. I suggest to all that if the have pending business with EMS they put their credit card in dispute ASAP. This kind of retailer should be put out of business. The same people that run this company must also run the voting machines in Florida. If you are thinking about placing an order....don't!"

"EMS has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. In fact, my experience suggests they have none. They have never responded to any of my emailed inquiries, nor have I ever been able to raise anyone by phone. I have twice left messages and asked that I be called back--but never gotten a call from them either. Plus they cancelled an order of mine for an Antec case because they said they couldn't fill it in a "timely" manner (this is the only email I ever got from them). No matter that I responded I wasn't concerned about getting the case in a timely matter, but would prefer they fill the order whenever they could--still got no response, and never got my case. Fortunately, they never charged my credit card. "

"As other posters to this discussion have noted, EMSComputing seems to specialize in monitors, of all things. I was in the market for a ViewSonic G75f and they had the lowest price. I quickly purchased it (Shipping & Handling was reasonable), but accidentally selected order type "Credit card by phone/fax" instead of "Credit Card". No matter, I simply called them the next morning. Only problem: no one was there. I called a couple of times a day for a few days; still no one there. I left a message on their machine, but I was never called back. I'm writing this on the 10th day _after_ my order, and I still haven't had them call me.

About 3 days later I ordered the same monitor from TechSavings.com (which currently does not exist at resellerratings.com, but I just added it). I received it a couple of days later. Why am I talking about TechSavings.com? Because the monitor, when I got it, did not include an invoice from TechSavings.com, but from EMScomputing....

So, overall, I was disappointed and will not shop from them again (save a huge price margin).

[BTW, I've heard the EMS Computing is in the process of relocating, thereby explaining the huge backlog of unfulfilled orders and calls. Of course, EMS did not tell me that.]

"IN DEFENSE OF EMSCOMPUTING:

I am just an average Joe who bought a monitor from EMSComputing. The monitor shipped and arrived on time. However, I have been trying to get in touch with their customer service people for about a month to have them resend a detailed order invoice. They have not responded to a single email. Naturally, this is quite frustrating.

HOWEVER, IN DEFENSE OF EMSCOMPUTING, I have heard that they have recently moved and as a result they have been experiencing moving pains and downtimes. Their customer service people must be SWAMPED with customer service requests trying to keep up.

Although this is not an excuse for poor service, just try to keep this in mind when dealing with this company. They are having tough times and your orders and requests may be very very delayed... but perhaps their at least trying their best?

I do not work for the company nor do I have anything to gain from defending them.

"On Sunday, 09/08/02 I ordered an Antec sx-1200 Full tower case from EMS through their other website (techsavings.com). I did not know tech savings was the same as EMS. I only realizewd that when my order arrived and the packing slip had EMS's logo on it.

I was going to buy the case from EMS at first, but the bad rating here turned me off so I started looking for another company and found tech savings. Their prices were cheaper than EMS, so I bought from them.

On monday morning I received an order confirmation in my email inbox. That was it. I figured I'd give them a day or two to ship the order and send me a tracking number. Fast forward to wednesday and I'm getting a bit worried, so I send them an email in the morning. In the afternoon the case is in my door. Never got a response from them though.

I'd give Techsavings.com (EMS) a 10 on every aspect except for communication, since there was almost none. Price was great, order arrived really fast and in one piece, but no tracking number.

Happy customer here.

Update: Just received their shipping confirmation...8 hours after I received the package and about 2 days after they shipped it. I guess better late than never. :-)

"Familiar story - best price on pricewatch for a case. Ordered online, they charged my card immediately, then no communication from them for weeks. No response to email, voicemail, or online RMA requests. Just a total communication blackout.

After about 4 weeks I disputed the charge with VISA. Finally, 5 or 6 weeks after charging my card I got an email saying they would credit the charge back to my account - hasn't shown up on my VISA yet.

Seems like they had a cash crunch and decided to give themselves a short-term loan from hundreds of customers by advertising great prices on a bunch of equipment which they never intended to honor. Stay away.

"First purchase from EMS and I was extremely wary. However, It shipped within 3 business days and it arrived 2 days later. It was a Diamond Pro 2060u monitor costing about 760 dollars total but it was 100 bucks cheaper than anywhere else. It arrived in factory sealed unopened package. Worked perfectly right out of the box. I read through the reviews here but there are a few people who have done business with them for a while and I went with that. Otherwise it's a lot of people with one post....this is my first also. I would definitely recommend EMS for monitor purchases at the very least."

"UPDATE:

I went to CompUSA and bought an Antec case OTC instead of waiting for the EMS Computing order I placed. So, since I could not get in touch with EMS to cancel the order, I now have two new Antec cases. I don't mind because Antec is the greatest. However, the case I got from EMS was slightly damaged. The power supply was jarred loosed and bent. All I have to say is that I will NEVER order from EMS again. Take a look at this if you don't believe me:

"I purchased two networking items on Aug 15th. They did send me an email stating they were out of stock. After two weeks and now replies to any of my emails I cancelled the order.

The sent the items anyway (and charged my CC), however I had already purchased from another vendor. They do not reply to any emails. Buyer beware.
