"I decided to buy a couple pairs of running shorts off of their website, very hesitant to do so since the last time I ordered was almost 2 years ago & they sent me 5 of the item instead of just one. I placed an order & then checked the address it was going to be shipped to (didn't give you option to enter address during order) & realized that it was going to be shipped to my address from college (300 miles away). I immediately called (within 2 minutes) to try to change the address & the representative said they couldn't because the order was already placed. I was furious & called my bank to see if the order could be canceled & they said it was already processed & would have to wait. So I called Eastbay back & spoke to another representative & they even thought it was ridiculous & she proceeded to get a supervisor on the line. Once the supervisor came on she then stated they could not change my address because the order was 'allocated'. I just can't believe they can't change a shipping address within 5 minutes of ordering! Now I'm going to have to call the post office there to forward it (if they find it come through). I'm also going to contact the owners where I used to live. Just way to much of a hastle to change an address! Will never use EVER again!"

"Horrible. Last time I ever order from this company again. I had a $25 gift card I had to use, so I was looking for something to buy. I ordered a Phiten Power sleeve on 12/5 - received notification it would be backordered until 12/12, then 12/19. Okay, now it's 12/24, and I just received an email it's backordered until 1/20/09. This was something I absolutely needed to have sooner than later, and now I may not get it at all until sometime in 2009. I'm not to going to badmouth the company and call them any names, but I am extremely disappointed, and this will be my last order with them."

"Ordered shoes that went on backorder, would not ship for 5 more days. My son found the shoes at a local mall, I called Eastbay within 24 hours of placing order and they would not cancel order, saying order was in status where it could not be cancelled, shoes must have arrived early. Explained I did not need shoes anymore, rep would still not cancel, said she could not. For 2 days I did not receive an updated email on status of order, status on website stated 'open, no further information available'. Called again, to cancel, had different, new, rep and order was cancelled due to 'product not available'. Obviously, 1st rep lied to retain the order."

"I ordered a pair of Nike Shox for my dad. I couldn't beat Eastbay's price because I used a 20% off coupon. I ordered on September 2, 2008 with regular shipping at Eastbay's website. I received an immediate email response after completing my order. Two days later, I receive another email to notify me that my order has been shipped (included tracking number). My dad received his shoes on September 10. "

"The cargo pants were described:
"Sit back, relax and enjoy the comfort of this comfortable, relaxed-fit cargo military pant, made of 100% cotton twill with cargo pockets."

This is deceptive because there's no warning that they come pre-shredded. At my husband's job everybody wears cargo pants, but not old ratty looking ones! At first he was shocked since the pants seemed to be unraveling and fading from heavy abuse, but on closer examination it's clear that they are new, with the "damage" added deliberately. They look like something a bum would wear if he couldn't afford anything better.

There's no point returning them since they gouge for the shipping both ways, but needless to say we won't be buying anything from them again.

"I was hesitant to order from eastbay.com given all of the negative reviews here but I'm glad I did. They shipped the order the next day and it arrived two days later.

I would also add that most of the complaints for eastbay relate to problems with the shipping company and not eastbay itself.

"We ordered basketball shoes for my daughter (11/23/07), when we recieved them they were too small, so we returned them for an exchange of an equally priced shoe...using the enclosed return label that came with our purchase. We recieved an email a couple weeks later (12/8/07) showing the exhange order. After a month of not receiving the shoes...I emailed...no response. I finally called today only to be informed that there was a price change and we now owed more money for the shoes. Like $20 more. I said no thanks, please refund our paypal account. She kindly did so...but charged me $7 on a return/shipping fee. I will NEVER shop from this company again and I would be cautious if you ever try to return/exchange with them. The fact that I had to call and inquire as to why we hadn't received the exchange yet, is just POOR business practices to me."

"Their prices are alright. My local running store which I get 15% off as an athlete can be better, but you have to add sales tax to that. I would also say their selection is surpurb to other online websites. The two things I do not like are their standard shipping cost of $6.99 and how long it takes to actually ship.

I ordered spikes on Wednesday, and it supposedly shipped out Wed night. Its been sitting in a "sorting facility" with fedex for 3 days. If they just sent it via standard USPS it would have gotten here Friday - now I'm looking at two days (4 actual days since of sunday and the holiday) due to fedex?

Another thing I do NOT like is them having to "approve" each order. I ordered some shorts a month back and it was stuck on the "waiting approval" stage for two days. That also slows down the shipping process. They have a current promotion that is $10 off any size order, one per order. Well say I ordered two shorts, used the promotion on each and got them for $11 apice shipped (so 22 total)They tried to combine both orders into one and make my total go up to $32 to "save on shipping" but she wouldn't let me do them seperatly.

Overall, they are fine - especially with their 30% off sales now and again, but I thing their shipping policy needs change

"Extremely unimpressed. I will never be ordering from them again. I used a coupon code when I made my purchase on their website and my order was cancelled without my knowledge. I was given some riddiculous reason by customer service and told my order would remain cancelled. I would highly recomend that you DON'T purchase from this company again. Judging by how low their seller rating is, I can see I'm not the only one who feels this way."

"Previous experiences with Eastbay went smoothly. This time we wanted to get some new soccer cleats for our son before an upcoming game. We paid $12 extra for 2 to 3 day shipping which seemed expensive. The order was placed Thursday evening and was shipped Friday. We received the order the next Wednesday. This was within their stated 3 days because they counted Friday as day zero and weekend days do not count. What is odd is that we received some other items ordered that same evening from the same state at the same time with no special shipping. We called to see why it actually took that long and were read their policy. They should get a better shipper that moves things on weekends. There are better places on the web to spend our money. "

"Ordered two pair of shoes at the same time. Received an email that everything was being shipped. Received items and found that one pair did not fit well at all. Filled out the form and sent the pair back for an exchange of the same shoe in a different style. After 2 weeks go by I contact customer service only to be told that they are on back order. No one told me any of this nor when to expect the shoes. I waited the 2 additional weeks they said it would take plus an additional week I was just about to contact them when the items showed up at my door. Will think twice about ordering from them again. "

"VERY VERY POOR SERVICE. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THEM. I originally placed an order for running gloves. The address I gave them was route 34. When I go the confirmation It said route 34. Then they sent me a delivery confirmation which said route 74. Since I needed the item at that point fast, I ordered a second pair assuming the first would not get here. The second pair I ordered overnight they said I would have it the next day. The next day goes by and I call and then they tell me the product is on back order or no longer available. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. "
