"I should of read these reviews first. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! They lie ,they have poor customer service. They are no good. Don't say I did not warn you if you do use them."
"I live in Australia and have shopped with a similar site called Wiggle.co.uk many, many times and they are fantastic.
However, upon deciding to shop with Eastbay for the very first time, I can only say that I had a horrible experience with Eastbay.
For starters they forgot to pack in item with my delivery and when I questioned them as to why this was, their response was that the item has been out of stock for weeks and that I was never charged for the item in the first place.
This was simply untrue as I was charged in full for the item that was not shipped to me. 3 days later Eastbay issue a refund for around 80% of the items original cost, not including shipping costs. I was happy enough to accept what was refunded to me as I didn't see the point in arguing over an amount of around $5.
Also, a Nike Sportband was purchased and the sensor did not work from the time I opened the box, upon taking it to an Apple store they confirmed that the sensor was faulty and $25 later I purchased another one from the Apple retail store.
3 items are currently en route to be exchanged as they were so far off from the description on their website that they are "un-wearable".
Never again will I shop with Eastbay. NEVER AGAIN."
"I live in Australia and ordered some baseball gear from Eastbay before reading all the nagative reviews. Here is what happened.
Ordered the gear on 03/13/2012. The money was debitted from my account on the 03/15/2012. The gear arrived on my doorstep on the 03/19/2012 (website indicates allow up to thirty days delivery). I tracked the delivery through the email links to USPS. Everything I got fitted per the website sizing guides.
.
I feel a bit left out because I have nothing to complain about. Thanks Eastbay for a positive on-line shopping experience.
.
Cheers, Gav."
"I ordered a pair of wrestling shoes for my son. When I received the shoes, they were of poor quality and they weren't true to size. When I sent them back to the company, I was charged $6.99 for sending them back! So, to recap...I bought the shoes for $79.99, paid approx. $6.00 for shipping, and $6.99 to have them returned. The shoes were worth about $30.00. I'm out $12.99. Thanks Eastbay! :)"
"Be prepared for poor customer service, and lack of viable return policy if you live outside the US.
With the smallest man-feet in Australia, I decided to use them to get access to small US sizes which are hard to get here - I was shipped US size 11.5 Nike, when I ordered US size 6.5 Adidas. They did not accept that they were at fault, and would not entertain sending a credit note to return the items.
The return policy requires me to pay the return shipping costs, with no commitment of reimbursement, and no commitment that the correct pair will be sent.
Vinnies or Salvos will be getting a flash pair of Nike ... would recommend going elsewhere. "
"This is the sleeziest low down most no good company I have ever dealt with in my life. They are complete garbage and should be banned from the internet and business altogether. I placed an order and they collected my money. Two days later they said they could not ship the order complete so they sent it partial. It's not so bad that maybe things were out of stock, but they lied and said the items were discontinued. Upon contacting the manufacturer I obtained the merchandise in a few days. One month later, I still have no refund from them. Just form letters that their mindless "customer service" people copy and paste that are empty apologies. They stated they would refund the money in 3-5 days then had the nerve to ask me to give them a positive review. I guess I should have asked more clearly when the 3-5 day period would start. I believe black market weapons dealers, meth labs, and drug cartels to be safer places to spend your money as they have ethical standards where SleezeBay does not."
"They sent the wrong items for my kids for xmas and would not cross ship a replacement. Xmas is over, item was wrong they should have offered to make it right, also the bottom of the box was delivered opened. instead they respond to your email 48 hours later each email so 3 cross emails is another week. - they did offer a 3 week period of time to process return once they received item back and send something comparable or LESS!!!! what the heck is that???. I told them I would write a bad review - they could care less. Read the reviews here -- Horrible, I will write Amazon and BBB and complain as well. Well someone from the company contacted me and apologized for my ordeal they overnight shipped replacements an I sent back the original bad order all at East Bays cost. I figure with the cost of shipping overnight and return shipping the company lost money to make me happy. I did not intend for the company to lose money on what they sold me I even offered to pay some of the return shipping but they insisted. dont give up till you reach the right customer service person if something is wrong.
So needless to say I have restored faith in this company."
"I almost did not order from Eastbay due to the negative feedbacks found on this website. I am from Australia so a bit cautious as I have not heard of them before but decided to try my luck and ordered anyway. If you are ordering straight forward items where you know your size etc then I think this online shop is great! My order arrived within 1 week of ordering via UPS and fully tracked. I bought 1 pair of Nike tennis shoes and 1 pair of Reebok running shoes for the price of 1 athletic shoe here in Australia! All the items worked out for me and didn't need to contact customer service."
"I would suggest that you DO NOT shop at Eastbay.com. The prices are sometimes similar to what you will find online but usually higher. The order usually takes 2-3 days after money is taken from your bank account to actually ship. They often list items in stock, allow you to purchase, bill you, just to later say it is back-ordered. Now you have to wait on the funds to be released because they allowed you to put in in the cart & pay. They offer free shipping codes but only if you spend a certain amount of money. Or they will offer a 20% discount if you spend even more money but the shipping cost will generally turn that into a 10% discount. Basically they pay your tax.
If you have to return or exchange something its a grueling process. They supply USPS return shipping labels with your order. But they don't tell you that USPS will then call UPS to get the package from the post office. I could have easily called UPS myself. Why does my package need to sit at the local post office for a few days. Eastbay.com says it takes 3 weeks to track your return so don't call them before then. They can't help you. Then after the three weeks are up call back & pray they want to do their job that day. If so, they may process a refund which takes another extended amount of time. Meanwhile, you are also responsible for the shipping cost to return the item and for the shipping cost of the replacement.
It's too many other companies with better customer service, selection, accurate stock, & sensible return policies. Try Zappos.com or finishline.com Or even shoebecca.com. Trust me Eastbay.com is not worth the headache. For holiday shopping or any day shopping. Good Luck!"
"Horrible custmer service - don't buy anything from them, once they have your $ game over !"
"I recently ordered a pair of running shoes from Eastbay. The website said they were in stock, the confirmation email said they were in stock. However, a week later (by which time I should have received them) i received an email saying the shoes were backordered but would be delivered within two weeks. Not that big of a deal. Three weeks go by and still no shoes, so I called. The shoes are backordered for at least another month. But the company didn't notify me of that. One of the worst customer experiences I've had in dealing with an on-line merchant."
"so far, I've had a good customer service experience - just had to change my shipping address last minute. They picked up right away, and were helpful."
"I was in search of volleyball shoes and kneepads for my two daughters. I found Eastbay to have an excellent website, excellent selection of name brand products and also has an affordable eastbay house brand on a number of products. I have not tried the Easybay brand yet, but might in the future.
I ordered two pairs of Volleyball shoes (Mizuno, ASics) and some Mizuno kneepads and found that everything arrived just fine, and notifications along the way were also great. I paid less than half of what I would have retail. IN fact some of the shoes were on sale for $30 and normally nearly $100 ...
I was surprised after placing my order to see such negative reviews here ... probably would have scared me away ... but considering my one and only experience was a great one ... I'll be back to EastBay for more deals in the future. I also used a 15% coupon at checkout (which I didn't know about, but the website suggested) and basically saved even more, so I was thrilled! Eastbay seems like a great place to find all sorts of sports related clothing, gear and accessories ... and the checkout process was simple, straight forward and very honest/clear."
"Put an order in with Eastbay, was supposed to be free shipping but I was charged over $25 in shipping when I got my confirmation, I called to cancel the order. I was told they couldn't cancel as the order was in process. Give me a break I ordered Friday at 5pm and by 11pm on Friday is was apparently ready to ship. I ask them to have the order picked and cancelled but they couldn't do that. The rep said it would to hard to find, give me a break. It will be my last order with them and I won't be recommending them to anyone."
"Terrible customer service. Paid for gold club service. Should have got free shipping for a year. They never coded me right to get it for first 6 months of year. Tried numerous times to fix it.
Treated very rudely by 3 differnet customer service people. Apparently they are trained to be nasty to good customers.
Will NEVER do business with Eastbay again."
