"I was looking to buy a Vison F173 17" LCD monitor, and Ebuyer had a better price than Newegg to CA (no sales tax, free shipping special offer), so I ordered there on Sunday night, but the ratings here made me worry, especially since Monday morning they had this ambiguous "waiting to dispatch" status, and the stock was listed as "3 days" (from warehouse, they explained). However, surprise, on Monday night the monitor was already on its way, and I found a tracking number in my account. For the bad rap they got, I feel this also deserves adequate praise. I expect my monitor should arrive on Thursday. I'll probably post again if everything went o.k.

Update, July 1st: Product arrived at 3pm this afternoon - now this is Newegg-like service, minus the sales tax (if you live in CA). In part that's also because the package was shipped with Airborne Express (Ground Service), which stated three days for AZ to CA, but actually made it in just one. And unlike sucky Fedex, who holds your gound/home/saver package in case it arrives early to deprieve you of transit times faster than you really paid for, this courier didn't mind delivering ahead of schedule. I don't know how typical all this is, but my experience with Ebuyer has been very positive, much better than I had expected. Thanks!"
"Amazingly fast service on an admittedly simple order. Monday morning ordered a single Flash Card. A few minutes later received the order confirmation via E-mail. Tuesday morning received notice that the order had shipped via UPS. Package was waiting for me when I arrived home Tuesday evening. "
"Ordered a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. They had the lowest price. Everything went well. The site said they had 100s in stock so I figured there shouldn't be an issue with "out of stock". Ordering system is nice, although order status tracking system is a little tedious. Received item relatively fast and would shop here again."
"I placed order for 3 USB drives at 4:10 EST on June 9th and received a confirmation e-mail at 4:12. At 4:19 I received the following e-mail:
Dear Sir,
I am only able to locate 2 of the Belkin 32MB USB Flash Drive. Please let me know how you want to
proceed.
Thank you,
Ebuyer support
I immediately hit reply and sent an email requesting the 2. 20 minutes later, after I had left the office, I got an email saying that ****@**** is no longer available and to use e-notes.
I saw this email later in the evening, and after numerous failed login attempts on the Web site (yes, using the correct name, email, and password), it finally let me into our account. I clicked on eNotes, and there were none.
The next morning I went back to the ebuyer account and there were still no enotes. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out that I needed to create a New Ticket to respond to the original email from the prior day.
• At 8:41 I asked how I could respond to the original question in the email.
• At 8:54 I was told to respond to the original question via enote.
• At 11:03 when I finally saw the enote, I said to send the 2 USB drives.
• Then, at 11:12 there is an enote saying that actually there are 3 in stock.
• At 8:10 I received this email: “Regrettably the above items are currently out of stock and / or discontinued from our site.” which did not actually list any items. And, there is no enote about this.
• Finally, at 8:11 I received an email that my order had been cancelled.
In sum, the Web is slow and difficult to use. The communication about orders is terrible. There is no other contact method besides the enotes. In fact, even when I wanted to leave these comments for them, the system claimed I had too many open tickets!"
"I have bought 4 times from these guys - need it
quickly at the right price - these guys are the real deal - thanks"
"This vendor is unreliable. As an experienced online shopper, I made certain all my items were in stock; site even has an elaborate "stock-checking" mechanism. After 48 hrs I called and found out that some items were NOT in stock. This vendor will not contact you in this case-customer has to stay on them. If they are experiencing a delay with your order, YOU have to tell them before they take action. It's their policy, yes, but it's also unprofessional. Order was placed on a Monday, per their business hrs, but did not ship until Thursday night. This is the longest time I have seen ANY vendor take to get an order in the mail.
BOTTOM LINE: STICK WITH THE BIGGER-NAME DISCOUNT VENDORS - NEWEGG/ESSENCOMPU/GOOGLEGEAR/AXION and stay away from newcomer startups."
"Just bought a board and monitor from Ebuyer after
finding in PriceGrabber. Best prices and got the product 2 days early. Will buy again"
"Ebuyer has good prices and I havent had any problem yet! HOWEVER if you live in California (like me) expect your order to be delayed for at least 4 days. They said because they dont charge tax sales for California they have to ship their products to AZ and back to California, for example it took me 10 days to get an order supposed to be delivered in 5-7 days."
"I found this company through pricegrabber. According to their website, the item I wanted was in stock. I completed all of their forms (which took a while as the site responded very slowly). 20 minutes later, I received an email stating the item was not in stock.
These guys are not reliable, but at least I had the opportunity to cancel my order."
"Ordered a QTEC 550w PSU and some thermal pads from eBuyer last week, shipped the same day, selected next business day delivery and got them next day in perfect working order.
I think the only problem with sites like ResellerRatings is that people with complaints to make about a company will tend to find their way to a site like this over those who are actually happy with the service - so you don't get a balanced opinion. Maybe eBuyer should direct customers here so they can enter comments, satisfied or not - I think then it would appear that ebuyer, for the occasional mistake it might make, isn't a bad company at all really.

"I have used the UK version of ebuyer on a number of occasions and have always been completely satisfied with my items. I have experienced none of the so called horror stories that other posters refer to. My only problem has been when I mistakenly ordered a hard drive that was too big for my old system to recognize and after working out how to use the rma request and e-notes - which I agree could be done better - they refunded my money without any hesitation. Delivery has also always been on time and I live more or less in the middle of nowhere :)
I have never ordered items that turned out not to be in stock, their website is quite clear on their stock levels for all items and it has never led me astray so far. Nor have I been charged for items and then recieved different items etc. In fact out of the few hardware e-tailers I have tried, ebuyer have proved to be the most reliable and my favourite so far and I don't understand how so many people seem to have left negative comments about them. Though I must admit that having tried to get through to the helpdesk near Christmas regarding my hard drive, and after a long wait, I only briefly got to speak to a human being who then put me on hold and then never came back. But then that's nothing new is it? I can't say I've ever been satisfied with call centers/help desks, but that's usually down to the underpaid, impatient and generally harrassed people that seem to always sitting at the other end of the line. So after reading the help on the website, I put in the rma request and with patience (which some of you seem to be lacking) the request was accepted within the specified time frame (I think two days) and my money was refunded."
"I have orderd absoultley thousands of pounds worth of goods off ebuyer and have had a few problems i have spen in excess of over £30,000 with them some items where faulty but if you do the rma online it takes a couple of days for a reply and about 2 weeks 2 get a exchange or refund, but saying that i am 99% pleased with my purchases with them, customer services is a waiste of time though if it is faulty do a online rma and send it back, "
"I found an add for Ebuyer in Computer Shopper went to their site and made a small order for my company. I ordered 5 400 Watt power supplies. Your first indication of a problem is you get an email saying your order has shipped but no tracking info. You go to their site and its a week before they actualy ship it. Then I recieved the 5 power supplies, well at first they looked ok untill I notice the 230 volt only sticker. After checking under the sticker I found they are 230 volt only. Well this is the US and there are no 230 volt outlets in the homes so not much use. Checked their site an no mention of them being 230 volt only. Now the real fun begins with Ebuyer, I called and after waiting on hold for 20 Minutes I talked to someone who transfered me to Tim a nice British speaking person who seemed to want to help, he was unaware the Power Supplies were 230 volt and went an looked at one to confirm. Then the next thing supprised me he told me to go online and apply for an RMA. Apply? I was already on the phone with them but they cannot take the RMA now? He already admited to the mistake but I have to go and fill out the RMA request.Well it took 3 days and several enotes to get the RMA approved, so I shipped the Power supplies back. They recieved the power supplies on March 8 and finally on the 13 acknowledged they had recieved them. I have been told several times since then that the replacement power supplies have been sent but when you check online it just says pending an no tracking information. It is now March 25 over a month from when I ordered the power supplies. I wish I had read the complaints before I ordered to save me the grief. Well I guess its time to call the credit card company and get my money back that way as they no longer answer my enotes.Update On March 26 I recieved 5 400 Watt power supplies from Ebuyer, I had no Idea they were coming as I was never notified they had been shipped, I recieved them by US mail. In any account they seem fine and I am happier that I did finially recieve my order. Tim at Ebuyer a least put fourth an effort. I still will not by from them again, but can close my problem with them."
"On the 9th of March I ordered a 19 inch TFT from them with an option for next day delivery.
As this was a Sunday I expected the item on Tuesday, on which a package did arrive. A 15 inch TFT from a different maker. I phoned them and after a 25 minute queue wait got a RMA number.
This was a major exercise because this product didn't support the return of this item through the site, and they were forced to bend the system to enable me to return it.
Two days later I got an e-mail from 'collections', I'd given them 'any day' as an option to pick up. I got a curt reply telling me that they must have a specific day to avoid 'mistakes' we me not being there. I gave them Friday, I stayed home all day - their was no collection.
I presume eventually ebuyer will do something right on this and actually pick up their monitor. And based on the information they gave me that once they have that then within two days they will dispatch another...maybe even the correct one. I've told the ebuyer agents through the site that I no longer want it, as at the very least I will have waited two weeks by then for a 'next day delivery'. But I'll be surprised if they take any notice. In fact I've come to the conclusion that they never actually had the product to send out and have used this cockup to mask a stock issue.
This isn't the first time I've had issues with this company, but maybe its the last."
"I ordered various items including an Asus A78NX Deluxe Motherboard. I had to wait nearly 2 weeks for this order as most items were out of stock which is the most annoying thing about this site!
I recieved everything ok, although it did spring to mind that they had sent me a used motherboard because the backing plate supplied with it had IN, OUT and MIC with a marker on it...strange, althou it is working fine compared to the amount of problems other people are having with this board.
I also discovered that 2 SATA cables were missing!
I sent them and eNote and they told me that the cables were not supplied with the version they sold. I have posted this info in a forum - nforcershq.com, and other eBuyer customers have told me they recieved the cables. Everyone else who has the board has the cables, they mention it in the rewiews of this board and even on the website, so why did I not get them?
I sent them a firm eNote 3 days ago asking they send the cables to me, but it seems they are having trouble replying to it. They did not have any trouble with my previous eNotes asking trivial questions regarding stcok enquireies and even whether an ADSL splitter was active/passive.
I must say the only reason I chose to shop with them was because they have the cheapest prices out there! Believe me I spent a whole 2 days trying to find better but unfortunately I couldnt. I should have known there was a catch!
I seem to be hearing more negative about them than positive. I really need to buy other things from them as I am on a tight budget but I will go instead to somewhere like Dabs or MicroDirect from which I have not had any problems and which seem more professional for the sake of some extra £.
On a final note, I will speak to trading standards about their conduct, if they can deal with online companies, and as far as I am concerned they have not sold me what I paid for as 2 cables were missing.
They will not get away with this! If I could only wring their bloody necks! But I will have to settle with naming and shaming them as I hope others will! :-)"
