Bait and switch online

"I tried to buy a down hat listed at $35 but when I went to pay it was $50.
Called customer service who said it was $50 in spite of what the online listing said. Wrote to them and was told the price was a computer glitch and not their fault. I will never shop with them again.

Returns

"I am very disappointed with Eddie Bauers return refund. I returned a package on June 29, 2017 and when I called them about my refund to our non-profit organization on July 18, 2017 I was told the package had not arrived yet. I live in upstate NY and the package was returned, via their label to the state of Ohio. A far cry from it taking that long to arrive. Package was sent via USPS. Ironically, I more I complained the package appeared, as I was speaking to them over the phone. As of today, I still have not seen the credit to our account. Very disappointed in their service. Package contained some nylon (which were very poor quality) backpacks, which our organization uses for a BackpackProgram for those in need of assistance in purchasing school supplies for the upcoming school year. Why are these companies so quick to take your money but so slow to give you a refund. This has made a difference with me doing business with you again. Eddie Bauer...we need our money returned!"

Very poor customer service

"I returned a defective item Eddie Bauer a month ago. Package tracking shows it arrived three weeks ago. Four customer service reps later (several phone calls, too) and I have yet to see a credit to my Visa card. Each time, I get lots of promises and no results."

very nice sweatshirt

"This is a quality sweatshirt with fine details - very upscale. It is however, snug as many reviews indicated. I called the chat line to find out the actual measurements of the garment to order an appropriate fit, but it was not available. The customer service representative stated that based on my size( 120 lbs 5' 4") a medium would fit. It fits but is very snug. I will keep the sweatshirt as it is good quality and hopefully will not shrink (cotton/poly). However, I would have greatly appreciated the actual garment measurements to determine a size decision rather than the reviews which can only be subjective. Please, please Eddie Bauer provide the actual garment measurements of your products!"

"SNAIL" Mail if you get the product at "All"

"I ordered a set of snow pants and jacket with Next day delivery. The companies shipping info is useless.. As your order must be place in their time zone, at the beginning of the week, with your fingered crossed that they actually have the product. Wait 24hrs to actually process your order from their own facility. (Pointless for next day service why even offer it) Call customers service wait 25 mins to be told to call back when the product is actually processed (2nd business day for the rest of the world) then get an e-mail telling you it's back ordered and will ship at the end of the month. (3rd business day) Hey but they won't charge you shipping, WELL DAM Eddie Bauer! You can't bill for product that didn't ship since you don't have it. But thanks for wording it as if you we're doing me a favor! Word of advice find it on-line with another company... Unless you have no plans to use the product anytime soon. "

"Its after Christmas and I have finally gotten my order from eddie bauer only to find out I did not get the 50% off and free shipping. I was charged full price and $15.00 in delivery fees. And am being told they know they had problems with their internet site but can not authorize a change to the sale price."

Outdated systems and poor customer service

"I ordered an item in stock with 2 day delivery. 2 or 3 days after I ordered the item was changed to backordered with an expected date 8 months later! I'm not sure what the likelihood of the average person wanting to keep an order that will arrive 8 months later but in my view it is absurd! The first problem is obviously the inaccurate inventory systems... maybe they could pay one of the other hundred of so online companies out there that know how to manage inventory. However, even if there is some valid reason for a company in 2016 to not be able to maintain accurate stock information the least they could do is provide better customer service instead of just sending a ridiculous email with a new expected date 8 months later! "

Get ready to wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I love Eddie Bauer quality and have enjoyed shopping in their stores, but any time I have ordered online it has taken weeks to be delivered. I shop a great deal online and the worst companies for being slow at processing and shipping orders have been Kohls and Eddie Bauer. I can understand Kohls, since they have an enormous operation, but why EB??? They don't have many products, but it takes weeks to get an order - any order - at any time of year!!! Such a shame. Guess I'll stick with going to the stores and forget online. "

Unable to Cancel an Order Placed Two Minutes Ago

"Eddie Bauer does not allow canceling of online orders once it is placed. I called to cancel an order I placed just one minute earlier and was told that once an online order was placed, they would not be able to cancel it, period. This is the only merchant I've dealt with in the past 20 years that does not allow cancellation of an online order once it is placed. Simply unbelievable."

Terrible customer service and no longer upholds guarantee

"Terrible customer service. I sent in a down mummy bag and couldn't even get even close to anything comparable. The woman in the office of the president said it was worn,old and used. Extremely rude. No need to say something that's not true! This bag was still in good shape but wasn't satisfactory to us the customer. It's unfortunate but this has ended me buying or recommending Eddie Bauer. Will never deal with this company again. They don't live up to their guarantee. "

Poor sizing and quality control. No remedy.

"I've shopped Eddie Bauer for 30 years and now the last time. Purchased two Versatrex shirts of different color in store. After one wash, they shrunk too much unlike any other EB shirts. Customer service encouraged me to exchange by mail for a larger size, so I did. The two shirts I received in exchange were either a different style or different fabric color. One had light color buttons compared to the original black ones, while the other had a faded pre-washed fabric as opposed to the original dark charcoal. Both replacements were too different to be called the same item and one was noticeably larger than the other despite being labeled the same size. When I contacted customer service again, I was sent an apology and told the issue was being forwarded to their product team. Three weeks later, I followed up asking for the outcome and was blown off saying nothing was to be done but rest assured my concern was reviewed. In essence they ignored the second round of problems with no correction and zero response. I then went online to leave another poor review, but it stated I can't leave two reviews despite buying 2 shirts and receiving their exchange failure. In fact, this particular item online has since received mostly negative reviews of poor sizing and false color depiction, exactly the same issues I reported six months ago. Eddie Bauer continued to sell the shirts to other people knowing of these defects and poor quality. It appears they are now finally on closeout, yet Eddie Bauer never admitted to any problem at all. This is a brand failure on multiple levels based on a defunct and expired reputation. It is clear Eddie Bauer is now corporate owned and not interested in product quality or feedback anymore. Their guaranteed promise that fueled the company for decades is totally hollow today. "

"I wish that you would lower your shipping cost to 49.99 are over. I shop a lot on amazon and a prime membership. No taxes or shipping and two day shipping. People are going to shop online more in the future. You did to change your policy. I hardly ever go to the mall anymore to shop and neither do my friends."
