"I used Fabric.com around Christmas time to order some fabric for Christmas gifts. Everything went smoothly, so I decided to get fabric from them for my quilting project. Yes, the prices were okay, and I got my package relatively quickly, however, one of the fabrics I ordered was not there. In addition, upon closer inspection, they sent one of the wrong fabrics. I tried calling customer service and was told there were 13 people in front of me. This was near their closing time, so I decided to email. It has been a week and I have heard NOTHING back from them. In addition, each time I have tried to call customer service, there has been a long wait. I work during the day and do not have time to sit on hold for 20 minutes waiting for someone to hopefully answer. I will not be purchasing fabric from here ever again. I am hoping I hear something back soon! :-/ "
"Sloooow shipping and poor customer service. Site says it will ship within 48 hrs. It's been 4 business days and my order still says pending. Last order I placed with them took almost 2.5 weeks to receive. "
"Never again. I placed an order that included 3 yards of one fabric. What I received was four little remnants! And those didn't come close to 3 yards in total, but I was charged for 3. Customer service was very apologetic and authorized my return. The refund I received, though, was just for these little remnants..as though that was what I ordered and paid for....not correcting their overcharge at all. ANOTHER contact with customer service was frustrating and worthless. I was scammed by this company, and I will not order from them again. There are other, honest online retailers out there."
"Seriously if they didnt offer free shipping for order over $35 I would NEVER shop this place.
Their online inventory never matches what the really have on hand. They offer these screaming sales, get you money, then all of a sudden the fabric you ordered is "out of stock" even though they showed 40 or 50 yards available when you placed your order.
You have to chase down customer service to get answers. They always claim they have sent you an email regarding order status when in fact they have sent nothing. This has happened to me more than once. They are owned by Amazon.com evidently, and seem to be too big for their britches. There is horrible communication between their sales dept and order fufillment.
Frustrating to no end when they claim to fill and ship withing 48 hours, and they dont."
"I should have read reviews of this store before buying. Never again will I ever buy from them. I ordered 7 yards of fabric from them. I never received them. After some emails,, which they apparently aim to respond within 48hrs but fail dismally, I was told they never received my PayPal payment. I emailed them my PayPal payment receipt and they never get back to me after that. "
"Well, I could kick myself for trusting a gigantic Amazon-esque internet fabric store, but I did and got burned. I ordered 5 units (yards I'm guessing) of yellow vinyl and 1 of kelly green and only the kelly green showed up. After stressing to the customer service representative, who was probably offshore anyway judging by her accent, that I needed this fabric before the 27th and that it should be their responsibility to expedite the shipping (as it was their mistake), she told me "I'll see what I can do; have a nice day." and hung up! What a pile; never again. Halloween costume plans= ruined."
"I have ordered from them multiple times and I am extremely satisfied with the selections, price, customer service and delivery. I have yet to have any problems with them and this is probably my fifth order with them and until they prove me wrong, I will continue to order from them. When one of my selections was out of stock, they called and left a message, I returned the call and received assistance immediately. "
"I have been ordering from Fabric.com for several years and I have never been disappointed. I have always gotten good service regardless of the size of my order. The fabric selection, prices and quality is great. When I have had questions they were always answered via email. Even though I live in Alaska the orders arrive in just a few days which is miraculous up here."
"With good materials and some good reviews, I was hoping that my fabric order would be a good experience. Boy was I wrong.
Placed an order without registering my email and it got lost in their system. Customer service email response was anemic at best. After 2 weeks of communication (only 3 emails in total), I gave up on that order and placed the same order (1 of the items was out but a very similar was available) with registering my email and the products arrived. One of the had the incorrect size. Instead of receiveing 6 yards, I received 6 feet. After another anemic response (waited for 3 days this time), the remaining fabric was delivered.
A month after the first order was placed and lost, it gets delivered and my credit card gets charged. I never received any email notifications for this order. I finally break down and make a call during business hours, as this is the only time that the customer service is available. 10 minutes of waiting finally gets someone on the phone. It takes more then half hour to find the order as the system that they use cannot searchby credit card number and the email address does not bring up the order. Somehow, the lady finds my order by entering the fabric id. They send UPS to pick up the order.....
Two days after UPS picks the order up, the order delivered to me again. This time I do not accept the package. After 3 weeks of waiting for a refund, I have to put in a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. Fabric.com does not respond to email requests about the refund."
"Have yet to receive my order yet. I love how it states that they ship within 48 hours and my order took 9 days before it left. I am worried to think that it ONLY got shipped because I contacted them inquiring about it. If I had done that a few days ago I may have actually had my order when I needed it. It was my first time shopping with them and will probably be my last unless I'm not on a time restraint."
"I ordered some stretch lace from fabric.com for my daughter's wedding after searching fabric stores in 3 cities. I found what I needed, ordered it and waited . . . and waited. It took 10 days to get the order, which gave me only a week to finish the dresses. UNFORTUNATELY, the fabric I received was not at all what I had ordered -- it was lace, but not the same color, pattern or design. I was frantic -- called the company, thinking they'd immediately correct the problem and send a expedited shipment -- after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes to talk to a representative, she simply said that I could return it for an exchange. I waited for the promised label, already having given up on being able to depend on a second shipment, but it never came. I called twice more before the label was sent. The wedding is over, I had to buy something similar, dye it myself and settle for a completely different look. It's been 3 weeks since I returned the fabric and I still have not seen the credit, much less an apology. Today I received a return label in the mail ???? huh! I recommend that you NOT depend on this company for any degree of customer service, nor for any fabric if you need what you ordered!"
"i almost didnt order from fabric.com because of the reviews and i'm glad i didnt listen to them. i ordered an item late saturday night and i received it on wednesday morning. it was half the price of other websites too so i was very pleased! "
"Do not buy fabric from fabric.com if you have a business or need a reliable product that ships promptly and has been filled accurately! I have ordered from this company for more than a year. I mostly order from them a certain item they keep in regular stock. I have had no problems with that one item, but every other fabric, including sale fabric has arrived as the wrong item, vastly different from the image on their website, and not on time. It has gotten to the point where I would rather pay 2-3 more dollars a yard and receive a timely, complete shipment than to receive the wrong item, no item or have a large delay in shipping- one time it was almost 3 weeks. If you see a fabric you like and have purchased a sample, buy it in mass quantity- their fabric count for yards is never accurate due to miscommunication between their warehouse and sales staff. You are likely to never see the good fabric again. Wel that is if it ever arrives. They do refund your money but the last refund took almost a month to show up in my account. You are taking chances when you order from this company. Customer service here is good but you cant sew clothes with good service and no fabric."
"I will admit that I order from them a lot because they offer a free shipping deal if you spend $35. On my most recent order I got an email early one morning hyping up a sale. I found a great fabric, and ordered it. The current inventory of the fabric was reduced by the yardage I purchased. Then I get an email today that the fabric is out of stock, and I could replace it with something else. Um NO THANKS I wanted the fabric you sold me. If they cannot keep a better handle on theor inventory levels, especially when they offer these fabulous sales I will be finding a new source. I spend hundreds of dollars a month on fabrics and this was a big inconvenience for me. I cancelled the rest of the order and will be ordering that fabric from someone else now.
I also requested a refund to my Pay Pal account, and 6 days later I still do not have my money back. I called them and they said it takes 7 business days for the refund. They did not tell me that when I cancelled the order. NOT HAPPY."
"I will not order from Fabric.com ever again. I order approximately $50 worth of fabric from the store on April 2nd, 2010 and then on April 5th, 2010 they charged me again for the same transaction! I called customer service and was told I should call my bank to have my bank explain why there are two transactions on my account. The only explanation given to me by Fabric.com was, "Vendors do this all the time; they charge you twice to make sure you have the amount in your bank account to cover the charge." I have been using my debit card for over 10 years and I've never had a vendor charge me twice to demonstrate that I had funds to cover a transaction. I called my bank and was told that they had indeed charged me twice on two separate occasions and Fabric.com needed to justify this, not the bank. I called Fabric.com customer service back and was told, "Well, we charged you on April 2nd, but voided that transaction. Your bank should show that." I explained that I had already contacted my bank and there were no voided transactions shown. I was told repeatedly to contact the bank, even though I was looking at my account history online and no voids were being shown. Sure enough, there had not been any voids. After contacting customer service a third time, I was told that it was actually the bank's fault no voids were being shown. So, I called my bank AGAIN, and was told that it is actually the merchant's policies which can cause a voided transaction to take much longer to post, not the bank's policies. The bank has decided to refund me the additional charge, because it is clear Fabric.com is simply giving me the run-around. I have had to call their customer service line four times and each time I have been given different explanations as to why it is not their fault; this is way too much drama for some stupid fabric. "
