"Before I placed an order of 200 yards of one type of fabric, I called customer service and asked if there was a discount or could I setup a wholesale account. I was told by Leslie emphatically there was not. She could not wait to get off the phone. This should have been the clue as to how Fabric.com operates. I placed an order. Today, the fabric is $1.00 cheaper per yard. So I called customer care again, and was told NOTHING could be done and was cut off by Jasmine. Fabric.com took my money and my order is still listed as PENDING."

"I will never purchase from Fabric.com again. They didn't ship part of my order - the item was "in stock," I paid for it, and then I received an email that it was no longer in stock. I had ask for a refund (which they should have simply done automatically). Now I'm having to hound them down for my refund - it has been over 1 month since I ordered. Unbelievable."
"This company has gone down the toilet since their move. Two orders in the last two months contained items that fabric.com deleted from my order without notification, without back order, and without the offer of substitution. So now I have used a coupon, and missed the sale price of the item. Is a purchase on a website not a legal agreement?? And the act of deleting an item from the order without communication or resolution a breech of contract?? This would explain the D- rating by the Better Business Bureau. If you're having an issue getting your refund, go to the BBB.
I won't even get into the FALSE statement on the site "Orders ship in 48hrs". I waited 2 months between purchase and ship notification of my last order. Get your fabric somewhere else!
Update: Received my partial order today, and in it was a letter that stated "For those that need to know that an item will be in stock, we offer items that we are able to Re-Order and keep available in our inventory of 500,000+ yards of fabric."
The fabric which was deleted from my order is listed on the fabric.com website as Re-orderable, and 26yds in stock, to boot.
Looking back at the reviews, they have been eliminating items from orders since March - far earlier than the move started.

"Since their move, they have had problems. Items not being shipped out, then having to call to get a refund because they just take it off the order, even though it is paid (I use paypal). Waiting 3 weeks or more to get money back, and still having to call multiple times to get the right amount.
Wrong orders shipped, wrong products when they do and no answers to emails. Poor customer service and just a bad experience all around.
Love the selection and used to love them. Was told I'd get a store credit for the hassle, but surprise. Never have gotten that, just like I never have gotten a full refund.
Pass on this store. So many other retailers do the same job without the headaches."

I usually do not bother to write a review but today I have to make an exception as fabric.com totally exceeded my expectations. We all know (it was posted on the fabric.com website) that they are experiencing delays because they have moved to a larger facility.
To make a long story short, we buy from fabric.com about once a month as we rely on them for some of our production materials.
I placed an order on 9/12 so yesterday I was checking online if it already shipped. It was still pending so I called a customer service asking for a status. A nice customer service lady told me they are experiencing delays still and that she will do her best to get my order shipped asap. I thanked her and told her it is really important for us to get the product asap because we rely on it in our production of items we sell. I did not ask for any concession or expedited shipping, I just told her the shipment is relied upon in our production process.
To my surprise the 10 yards arrived today. Fabric.com next day aired 10 yard roll at their expense. Without me even asking for it.
We sell online - so I know that for every 250 happy customers, one will leave a feedback/review - BUT JUST ABOUT EVERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER WILL leave a bad review. Happy customers just go about their way and do not see a need to post positive reviews. Well - I am one of those customers who was just totally blown away by the excellent service, they turned difficult situation --- late shipment due to growing pains --- into making me a very very happy camper.
I actually went around our company and told everyone who is in customer service this fabric.com story to illustrate to them how a company can turn a annoyance to a super positive in customer's eyes.
Since my past transactions with fabric.com went just great, I presume for every negative review there is a couple hundred customers who are happy and did not have an 'event'.
Anyway, I love their prices and always got service that was above an beyond. I am a customer for life. "

"I placed an order for 35 yds of fabric and 10 yds of fabric (same fabric). The 10yds shipped after 4 days (2 days late). The 35 yds. did not ship. I sent 5 emails--not one was responded to. I called 5 times--each time I was promised immediate shipping (I was willing to pay for overnight shipping!)--the last 2 calls I was told fabric.com would pay for overnight shipping. Nothing happened. After a week, my order was simply canceled without explanation. Fortunately, I was able to order the fabric elsewhere. I highly recommend you order elsewhere!"
"I used to order quite often from Fabric.com and they always had low prices, and excellent customer service. The last 2 orders I had were a terrible experience. The wrong fabric was sent, the order was delayed with no communication, and it took over a week for customer service to respond each time. The last time I didn't have to return the fabric received in error, this time I did, but they didn't give me a return label, or even a shipping address. They also have already charged me for the replacement. I used to love this store, but they have increased their prices too high, and their customer service has become horrible. I won't buy from them again."
"I purchased outdoor fabric from Fabric.com. IT was guaranteed to last 5,000 hours in the sun. I recovered my outdoor seat cushions. If you sew, you know how long this can take. They were outside for one month, the fabric shredded and fell apart! Fabric.com ignored my emails, my customer service calls and has refused to provide new material or a refund. Beware of purchasing from them! "
"Not sure what has happened to the service since their move to a bigger facility but this last order was and is a disaster. Its a shame because they have great fabric and great prices but you can never count on the fabric actually being available when you order it- sure its there in inventory but it mysteriously disappears and is then not available. Look the next day- there it is again- IN the past they have answered emails and resolved problems but I have sent ten emails about this last order and haven't received one response. I can certainly understand the negative ratings- I even asked them if those customers who order from Amazon get better service (because you can rate the interaction!)Pretty obvious the employees dont care so there must be some problems at the company -- its a shame- not sure why they keep running sales for items they dont have and orders they cant fill. "TERRIBLE service. I placed an order and a week later see that it did not even ship yet. So I sent an email to customer service inquiring about it. I got a response 1 day later saying "sorry one of the items your ordered is out of stock." First of all, it would have been nice if they didn't wait for me to ask to let me know, secondly, in that email, that's ALL they said, there was no mention of the rest of my order or if I would be getting a refund, if that item was backordered, or my total order was cancelled. I am most certainly NOT returning to this website for anything, I'd rather pay DOUBLE what I pay to get my supplies elsewhere just to avoid this kind of hassle."
"I placed an order for fabric samples. I had to pay ~$5.00 total including shipping on 2 pieces. Delivery time for my area is estimated at 4 days. It's now a week later and I find the status of my order is "pending." I call and do online chat- my order hasn't even shipped.
I'm told they are behind due to 3 day holiday and sale. THey did not contact customers to tell them of this delay. Meanwhile my sofa sits waiting to be upholstered and the sale price of the fabric I was interested has expired. Had I received the samples in the time given, I could have decided and purchased the fabric while still on sale.
Yes, they have a wide selection, but who cares if you never receive the order you paid for?! That's no bargain! Plus the 20 mins on hold for both phone and online customer service.
They say they will now overnight my samples- great, on a friday afternoon that means their "overnight" will (hopefully) arrive on Monday. Almost 2 weeks after I placed the order. The customer service rep was condescending and acted like she was doing me a favor saying that at least it will get here faster...um, no, it's still several days later than regular shipping AND had I not spent MY time to call and email, would not even be coming at all....

"I am totally disgusted with this seller-first of all they never have the correct yardage available for sale-they can say on their website (example) that they have 50yards for sale and then you can order five yards and never hear about your order.
So, when you finally email them asking where your order is, you are told that they ran out of the fabric-so basically they are just taking your online order in the event that they do not sell whatever they have listed but if they have buyers either on other sites or at their location-you are OUT OF LUCK
You will NEVER get an email stating that there is a problem unless YOU email them asking where your order is-
On their site they state Fast Shipping? Well I do not know to whom or what they are shipping quickly as i have never received anything that I have ordered and i have given them chance after chance as sometimes they have a product that i do need for a project and i really hope that this will be the time that i get some sort of service, but alas, i receive nothing
I have emailed them over and over and never get an answer until i get the email stating that i am out of luck-no fabric is available and my credit card was not charged
This is a really bogus way to run a business-and now they have moved to a larger warehouse where they can mess up many more orders, great job!!"
"I was wary of ordering from fabric.com because of the reviews that I read. So, I was happy when everything turned out just fine. There was only a delay in receiving one of my fabrics, because it was on backorder. They sent my stuff out on time and it came sooner than I had anticipated. With the low prices and big selection, I will be ordering from them again."
