"Fabric.com is the worst online retailer I've encountered so far. I purchased a small piece of fabric on 7/31/2012 and till this day it was not shipped. They simply created a UPS label on 8/7/12 to fool me into believing that it's shipped but UPS doesn't actually possess the package.
Their customer service made the excuse that they are currently moving and therefore all shipments are delayed. They offered no solution to rectify the problem, only asking me to "understand" that they are moving and I may have to wait indefinitely until they are done.
At this point there's no estimate when my merchandise will be shipped. "
"This is by far one of the worst on-line sellers I have ever encountered. Yes, things go wrong. But it's how a company handles their errors-- and yes, it was completely their error. They sent me the wrong order. They admitted it, but insulted me and said they'd told me to return the wrong items when they hadn't. Their customer service answering system will put you on hold for forever and it takes a long time for them to answer e-mail. I wanted to talk with s supervisor who then went off duty when I was waiting to speak to her. Terrible, terrible, terrible. "
"I'm not sure why this company has gotten so many negative reviews. I personally have never had a problem with them. It may be because those who have a complaint will sooner post a review than those who had a positive experience. (We all know it's easier to complain than to pay a compliment!)
Thankfully, I am very happy with my most recent purchase. After I placed my order, I decided I wanted to change the amount of fabric for one piece, so I left a phone message with the company (after-hours), and they got back to me early the next day. I was able to change the amount within the 48-hour shipping period, and within the next week I received my material. It was nicely cut and packaged, and was just what I wanted. (It's worth mentioning that I ordered swatches in advance to know what I was getting. I would strongly recommend this for anyone who wants a specific color, since the colors seen online are rarely accurate - with ANY company.) Finally, I love the prices and the fact that shipping is free for any order over $35.
So while I won't pooh-pooh the negative reviews, I would recommend giving Fabric.com a chance. Start with a small order that won't cost you too much, and if you're happy with it, continue from there. :-) "

I placed an order with them on May 24th. Today is June 6th. I checked their website to find my order was 'pending'. I called to ask what was happening. It seems they didn't really know. They claimed there was no stock, but there was plenty on their website when I ordered, and their website still shows more than enough stock to complete my order. If you use fabric.com you'll be wasting your time. Do yourself a favor and find a company with a higher rating. I canceled my order."
"I was pleased to see that Fabric.com had the fabric that i was looking for, since it had been very hard to find. I ordered just a few yards of fabric for a small sewing project. A day or two later I looked at the reviews of the website and thought "Oh no, what kind of mess have i gotten myself into?" But now that the fabric is in I am so happy I ordered from Fabric.com! I got an email confirmation after 48 hours, like promised on the website, and the shipping was SUPER fast! When my fabric came in it was exactly what I ordered, was packaged neatly and the fabric was nice and evenly cut. I also love the free shipping when you spend at least $35. Overall, I had an excellent experience and will definitely order from Fabric.com again!"
"I just got my latest order in from Fabric.com, and it looks like it's about to be my last. I bought four panels in this last order but only two of them are usable, they chopped into them! This, sadly, is just the tip of the iceberg. Over the last several orders I've placed they've only had about 20% of the items I ordered in stock- and sometimes it was in pieces or smaller amounts. They say they ship out in 48 hours, this is a lie. You'll wait for a week and then get an email rudely telling you to get back to them within 24 hours so they can process your order. I get 24 hours, but they get 168 to twiddle their thumbs- I don't think so. They do have the best prices around, and always have coupons but if they don't have the advertised product what does that matter? And don't think ordering a couple of yards when they say they have dozens will make a difference, it doesn't. Placing an order with them has become like Russian roulette. I just sent them an email asking what they plan to do about my trashed panels, I'm sure (like all the other times) I'll hear back from them when they're good and ready.
UPDATE: It's been more than a month since my last Fabric.com order, they still haven't gotten back to me. They did refund me some arbitrary amount, but I haven't received any other contact. Really disappointed, as a customer for years I'm now looking at other sites for my future fabric purchases."
"Fabric.com is easily the worst and most unprofession whole sale fabric business I have ever worked with. I placed an order while they were having a sale. I realized I ordered the wrong fabric, the same day I bought it online. I cancelled the order the same day and reordered the right fabric, which was instock when I bought it. A week later I got an email saying that the second order I placed was cancelled because the item was not in stock. So I called to inquire about this and to see whatever happned to my first cancelled order, since I never got a follow up email confirming the cacellation. The customer service rep said the cancelled order had been cancelled but it was shipped to me anyway, on accident. They also said my second order(the right order) shouldn't have been cancelled because they had about 59 yards of the fabric in stock, and they went ahead an processed the order. I waited another week and heard nothing and received nothing in the mail. I called again this week and the first order, was still lost in the mail and never came back to them yet. The second order was just sitting in limbo waiting to be shipped, for a whole week. I am a traveling entertainer who changes addresses once a month. Now I can no longer receive packages at the address I gave them bc I have to change states for work. SO they took a different address and said they would have it in the mail in the next two days to the new address. That was yesterday. Today I get an email saying my second order was cancelled because because it is now out of stock and will not be in stock again until May. So I cancelled the order completely bc I am sick of the lack of communication going on on their end. I asked for my refund, which will now take 7-10 business days and my first cancelled order has yet to be refunded and will not be until they receive the package that they wrongfully sent out. I will never even bother dealing with Fabric.com. I don't care if their fabric is 5 cents a yard. I would gladly pay more to a company who has their act together. I wasn't offered anything at the end either to resolve this 2 1/2 week ordeal and they did nothing to speed up my refund. Fail!"
"I placed an order that I need to ship USPS and called to make sure it would be able to go that way. After I placed the order, I called and was put on hold for 20 mins, someone finally came on and told me no problem. The next day I get an email with UPS tracking. Called back and was told that they could not do anything but UPS, no apology or could they stop my order. 3 weeks later still waiting for refund, emails were ignored. Finally got through to someone who told me it was returned and waiting to be scanned, another week passes and was told order not there. Finally got refunded. Never again will I use them"
"In the past I have had great experiences with Fabric.com. However, my most recent experience has left me never wanting to order from them again. I accidentally selected an old stored credit card (my error). However, I received no email from Fabric.com telling me this. 4 business days after I ordered, I emailed asking why my order was still "pending" and THEN they told me my card hadn't gone through. They claimed to have sent an automated email telling me this and that it was "probably in my Spam folder" It wasn't. I ended up having to cancel the order, because I needed the fabric on a deadline,and the only course of action they offered was for me to pay to expedite the shipping. Not going to happen, when it was their error in not informing me of the credit card problem that caused me to miss the (generous) shipping window I had to receive the item by. Their claim that they ship in 48 hours is an outright lie."
"I ordered $388 worth of goods from fabric.com in november 2011. They have yet to send me my order and do not respond to emails. They stole my money and I need it back. This is absolutely shameful and rediculous.

"Sloppy Service and no fabric YET! I guess i'm a gluton for punishment. I used to order from them all the time and the service was good, but this WILL be my last time. Laast time I ordered they gave me a flimsy excuse why my order took so long to get to me, and when I called the other day it was in the shipping dept. When I checked the status this morning it's on hold. Does anyone realize that without customers, no business. Customer Service is an honor and priviledge. Even though their prices are good, ecommerce is so competitive that you just can't afford not to be top of your game. I will not shop with this company again."

I order daily from them and they are becoming sloppy with processing, not having the correct quantity of fabric shown on site (60 yds=not in stock, when I only ordered 3 yds), waiting on hold for 2 hours to get Uh I don't know why your order hasn't shipped(it was over a week old). Go to smaller vendors on Etsy.com and order they ship same day!"
