"On 8 January 2009 I ordered a Lens for my camera from FotoConnection.com. A couple of days later I recieved a phone call wanting to upsell me on several things. I finally agreed to the USA model of the Lens I had ordered and thought all was well. NOT!

I paid extra for three day shipping, a week went by with no word and no lens, I contacted them and they said it would be drop shipped by Nikon because it was back-ordered. THREE WEEKS later, I get a box in the mail. In it is another smaller plain cardboard box, my lens, without lens or butt cap was wrapped in bubble wrap and rolling around inside the box. Since this was my first experience with buying a lens, I had no clue that this was not correct until I talked to my sister who is a photographer.

I was blown away that when I called they said at FIRST, they would replace the lens caps, AND send me a three piece filter kit. However, before that phone conversation was over, they renegged and said that I should buy the caps locally and they would send me A lens filter for my trouble. NOT acceptable.

Over the next week and a half I emailed them with no response, I finally called back and they denied having recieved my email. I Re-sent the email at that time and he recieved it while I was on the phone with him. I explained that I wanted a NEW Lens, IN the original box, WITH Lens cap and butt cap and that I also wanted the three piece filter kit for my trouble. After much discussion, he finally agreed. He also agreed to refund the shipping costs for me to ship back the first lens and filter.

At this time, I have recieved a new lens and a three piece filter kit, but have not been refunded the shipping and have NO IDEA if I have the USA model for which I paid an Additional $50.

I would like to be refunded the $32 shipping I paid, the $10 three day shipping I paid for the original lens and I would like to know if I recieved the USA model. I don't believe I did and since that is the case, I want my $50 difference back. This lens is NOT marked ANYWHERE on it as a USA lens.

Ok, so FotoConnection asked me to update this. They finally refunded the 49.99 for the USA Upgrade, however, they did NOT refund the shipping as promised. They did give me a 3 pack UV filter. Big whoop. So, I am still out the shipping for the used lens they originally sent me. I am never ordering from this company again. THey also tried to twist my arm into rating them and me as very satisfied. NOT gonna happen at this point. Buyer Beware!

"After writing my negative review below, I was contacted by "Carl" who sounded sincere about wanting to make me a "happy" customer He even offered to send me another battery in order for me to change my review to a more positive one. I responded to his email with what it would take for that to happen, and have not heard another word from this company. My rating stands. Cheap company with loaded high price "add-ons" that you MUST have in order to enjoy your purchase. Lies, all lies, period. When confronted with this, they clam-up. Again, stay away from them. Do yourself a favor, and just go to a higher priced company. No pressure there, and you don't get extra junk you don't need. I gave them 2 weeks to respond, but nothing...

Stay away from this store!!! They are dishonest, and will be untruthful to get you to buy extra equipment you don't need. Should have know not to buy here, and just gone and paid a bit higher price at a more reputable place of business. FotoConnection will NOT see any more business from me. Was told by Tom, that the "original" battery in a nice Nikon camera would only last for a very, very short time, meaning I should buy one of their much larger capacity batteries at a very high price (100% mark-up from a Brick & Mortar store). When confronted with the truth a 2nd sales associate (Dan), added to the mis-information to keep the sale. Bogus way to do business. Hopefully anyone who reads this will go elsewhere...

"Update: Returned the camera successfully and got a full refund for the camera and the extended warranty. A little disappointed that I didn't get the return shipping cost of $10 back, but at least this company is honest enough to refund me in full without much trouble.

Bought a Olympus Stylus 1030SW camera in BLACK with 3 year extended warranty on 2/26/09. Got a call from the sales rep Eddie to confirmed the payment amount and ofcoz, like everyone else, I being pushed to buy some extra stuff, and I insisted I would stay with the camera and the warranty. Afterwards, I called multiple times for a tracking number, and Eddie said that UPS will email me a tracking number because they ordered it from Olympus and have it shipped directly to me (how funny huh?) I told him I want to cancel my order because the statement above is so obviously a lie, and of course he said no as my camera is "on its way" lol The next day Fotoconnection finally sent me a tracking number, and I got the product today.

Guess what? It's in green, not black!!! The green one is sold at other places at a much lower price! I sent them an email and am now waiting for a reply to get full refund with shipping.

"We actually canceled our order after realizing they were pulling a total bait and switch. We were ordering the Canon FS100 Camcorder for $249 the next day my husband gets a call telling us the battery life is only 30min so we should upgrade. I assured him I checked the reviews and it should be nearly 3 hours. So before accepting the extra $50 in charges my husband called Canon who told him that the battery is the bp-808 and has a 3 hour 5 min battery life. When he called to confront fotoconnection.com they told him well we have two different packages one with the 30min and one that comes in the original packaging. He had to tell them 15times to cancel the order. If I were you I would steer clear of this company they are not honest!"

"Products were not only on-time, but were ready for delivery much sooner than we anticipated. My salesman, Adam Alex, was strait forward and did not overpromise. In fact, he underpromised and over delivered -- getting me hard to find units in less time than it usually takes my other suppliers to deliver "in stock" items. In todays dangerous web-sales climate, where even big reputable companies use bait and switch tactics to get you roped in with one price and then sell you a different model number for a different price, it was refreshing to work with Foto Connection. They were honest about the ability to get certain models, they were honest about the pricing and they delivered in spades. I have already placed several orders from them and I will continue to do business with them in the future. Adam is great to work with. 10 out of 10 stars for the whole experience. Even the delivery aspect exceeded expectations, with the delivery crew being courtious and professional (not the case with other trucking companies)."

"I was in the market for my first LCD TV. I went larger than I was going to because of their price, which was lower than everyone else. It was a great experience; the small items came via UPS first, lightning fast. The TV came via truck line a few days later. It was packed better than it comes from the factory. Great communication also...I knew exactly when my items were going to arrive with UPS tracking and by the truck line. Almost a month after it came...I am still happy and would do it again. I will be back!

"FotoConnection gets 5 Stars from this buyer. My experience wth FotoConnection was superb! The sales representative, Adam, was honest, knowledgable and provided me with exactly what I requested and needed.

The shipment arrived 2 days early and the shipping company, CEVA Logistics, exceded expectations and called to schedule a convenient time for delivery and arrived right at the scheduled time.

The price, product, sales, service and shipping were all top notch! I will definately continue to do business with FotoConnection.

"First time using FotoConnection. I needed a specific lens before I left the country and made a last minute decision to see I could get one overnight shipped. Some merchants don't get around to shipping for a couple of days. Foto Connection was my first choice after I called them. I ordered Sunday, It was shipped Monday and I had the lens Tuesday. I leave Thursday. It absolutely made my week. I plan to use FotoConnection again in the future. Outstanding first experience!"

"Pretty sketchy company...

I ordered a Nikon D40, package 10 which included a bunch of accessories, and a 18-200 lens. Louis told me specifically that it was a Nikon brand lens, and when it came, it was a sigma (about a $400 difference). On top of that a few of the accessories listed in the package.

My advice to all of you, post on resellerratings.com the minute you get your invoice number. They check this frequently and I believe that it got my order shipped faster, and I got a call as soon as it was in asking me if everything is ok. I spoke/argued with a guy for quite a while about being lied to about the brand of lens and the missing accessories.

The end result was that because they didn't give me the Nikon brand lens, they sent me the missing accessories and an extra 3 year warranty. Not a bad deal for the package price of $899.

If you are stubborn and patient enough, this could be a good deal for you. If you'd rather pay the extra money and not have to deal with some shady thugs from New York City lying to you, hassling you, and trying to get you to post a good review, then go somewhere else.

I know 100% that after this review, although better than the first, I will get another call from the jerk that's been working with me to try and change it. And I won't.

Sorry buddy! You run a crappy company! If you want to send me some more cheap accessories to make me a "happy customer" as you keep calling it, that's fine, but I'm still telling the truth about my experience.

"A++ experience! I ordered a VELOS SPEEDCOOK OVER-THE-RANGE MICROWAVE OVEN via internet on 1/26/09 and received it on 2/2/09! It was a great price and a "no hassle" purchase with a discount on delivery. It arrived within one week in perfect condition. I received a follow-up courtesy call from Calvin, who was very pleasant. "Great transaction! No problems and great customer service. They called to confirm order, which made me suspicious. They asked if I needed any batteries or lenses, but I declined. I did however accept the cheap 3 year warranty for breakage and any other damage. Everything went well and I received my camera at the expected time. "This is the worst experience I have ever had in buying any electronic merchandise on the internet. This is a disreputable company. They adverstise one product and send you another one. Then when you ask for the correct product that you ordered, they charge you to send back the one they sent you by mistake!! Also, they do not send you an itemized invoice. They list everything you requested at quoted prices by phone, but fail to itemize the costs in the invoice as if this was a special bundled deal. It was really shady. I checked the prices of the items that were extra and they charge almost twice as much as you would pay elsewhere. Stay away from this company!"
