"I ordered a Fujifilm Finepix Z20fd camera bundle which included about 5 other items, like a tripod and I had a very interesting time with this. The price was great: I only paid $125 for all of the items even though the camera alone was that price at other places. The problem: I received a camera that DIDN'T work even though the camera was listed as "brand new". All the accessories were in the condition listed on the site, though. I asked the customer service rep. why it was like that even though it was supposedly new, and he said "We don't check our items before we ship them". I returned it and had to pay the return shipping myself, as their policy states, and I promptly received a working replacement, and surprisingly the box contained different items than the first camera and did not have the wrist strap or AV cables. I didn't feel like returning it, though, just for those items so I kept it. I honestly don't believe I received the NEW camera advertised EITHER time, but the camera works and I got a good price, so even if it's refurbished I'll take it. I don't recommend this place if you don't want hassle, though, or if you want to be 100% sure you're going to get what they're claiming to sell you. The issue was resolved in the end, but I'm pretty sure I didn't receive a brand new item since each time some of the accessories were missing from the box or else the camera itself wasn't functional/was broken."

"Do NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE! I ordered a canon fs100 camcorder from fotoconnection on Jan 19th. On Jan 29th I received an email to call and confirm my order which i did and at that time the salesman or customer service rep proceeded to badger me about purchasing and upgraded battery for the camcorder stating to me that the included battery only lasts 40 min. I found that hard to believe since i have researched several cameras, etc. Besides, i'm recording my children so we use it 5-10 min max each time anyway. I managed to get off of the phone with him and the next day recieved another email directing my to call and confirm my order. So i call, and that salesman badgered me again about the battery. I actually gave in when he went from 69$ to 30$ for the battery. (the guy previous quoted me 50$ for the same battery). Next day, Jan 22 '09 my order still has not shipped so i call and they tell me that they are waiting for the camera to come in. I then canceled my order.
March 19th 2009 update- fotoconnection contacted me and appologised for the horrible experience i had with their company and wanted to make amends. Their offer is a free tripod kit depending upon my updating my review. Well, i have to give them credit, because they didn't have to do anything...so thank you fotoconnection.

"The process was a little painful, you have to wait a couple days for them to call you and spin their sales pitch. But if you can suffer through, you can get a good deal on a great camera. I bought the Nikon D-40 and it arrived in time for Christmas when other outlets were telling me they were on backorder. If you need hand-holding then find somewhere else. If you're an independent type that knows what you want and can bully through, then this might be the place for you."

"Exceptional pricing on big screen lcd's. Placed my order over the phone, navigating thru all the voice prompts was a hassle and the fast talking and slightly overzealous salesperson didn't make the overall experience pleasant. Received the tv on time, however the bluray player showed up several days later after going thru the phone maze again to check on it. Both items were brand new and work perfectly. I would definitely buy from this supplier again, but would recommend they revamp their customer service lines. For this particular shopping experience I would rate them a 3 out of five stars."

"Short review: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE!

Long review: I've had my camera for well over a year, but I've decided to tell other people my story in dealing with these crooks. Looking back on it, yes, it's totally a bait and switch, but I didn't know that going in, so here I am, warning you.

The first thing that should have clued me in was the phone call at 6:30 in the morning. HELLO, I live in Seattle, you're in New York, check your time zones! But since I was awake due to the phone ringing in my ear, I took the call. The call is disguised as a “we're just making sure this isn't identity theft” call, but is actually a way to get their foot in the door to pressure you into ordering more overpriced stuff. Trust me, you can find a flash card for cheaper. Don't believe them. The salesjerk (who is lucky I keep him anonymous) managed to pressure me into buying a "better" battery (which turned out to be the battery that usually comes with Olympus cameras...nice) ONLY because it was 6:30 AM and I wasn't up for arguing. He was trying to pressure me into a flash card, but I had already ordered one from another site, at which point he got snippy with me and ended the call shortly after. I will say, unlike others on here, everything else that was listed to come with my camera did actually come with it, which, reading these reviews, is shocking.

Initially, I ordered an Olympus Stylus 800. I received an Olympus Stylus 820. I thought, okay, cool, guess the 820 is the upgraded version and they ran out of the 800 or something. No biggie, but still should have raised a red flag, which I ignored like an idiot. This camera was obviously a refurb or one that an earlier customer shipped back due to being defective or something, because it has never taken the most wonderful of pictures. (I never needed *excellent* pics before, but with a baby coming, I want a camera that will get the shot I want every time.) One thing to note is that I never received a phone call or email asking if it was okay I get a different camera instead of the one I ordered.

Moral of the story: Only buy cameras from a store/website you trust that actually has a name, not some bumbling idiot website that tries to screw you. Beware the bait and switch! Ask questions and don't succumb to pressuring salespeople! If they call to “verify” that you aren't an identity thief and try to sell you more stuff, CANCEL THE ORDER RIGHT AWAY!!! Learn from my mistakes!!

"I was surprisingly pleased with the service of this website. The product I received was exactly the product that I was looking for, and the price was less than anyone else on the internet. It arrived in the time-frame that I was expecting it and could not have been in better shape. The only part of the entire process the made me uncomfortable was the lack of communication, but that was probably heightened because of how close to Christmas it was. I would definitely use this vendor again for future purchases because they did not use the old bait-and-switch scam that I have found with other online camera retailers. "

"FotoConnection is a great place to buy a camera body. Prices for USA models were excellent, the best I found. However I would not recommend buying a package that includes a lens. Lens brand name is not listed in the details. In the case of one camera package, it was listed with a Canon sku# which would lead one to believe it included a Canon lens plus Canon camera body. It was not a Canon lens. You can do much better by just buying the camera body from FotoConnection and then searching for a suitable lens on the web separately. The lens offerings in the packages were priced at or near suggested retail price which can easily be beat elsewhere."

"I would not recommend this merchant, classical bait and switch, ordered a Canon EOS 40D camera with Canon EF 28-135mm lens, and at order time the salesperson tried to substiute a non-Canon lens. Was advised by Edmondo on Jan 13 that it would ship in 3-5 days, called today (19th) and was told if I would pay an additional $100 to one of their "drop shippers????" they could ship it today. I declined and am back in the market, I should have paid attention to their ratings."
