"Item not in stock as indicated (and asked) when I ordered. Not sure when item will finally ship.

Also, price on website was different (higher) then price on credit card.

" I was happy to get a call from FotoConnection to alert me that the 2 camera lens that I've selected with my SLR camera package were manual focus lens and does not have an automatic focus option. The price difference was I think $200 - $300 which I felt was a good decision, the sales person agreed to kick in a free overnight delivery which would have come in the following day, Friday. The order came in Tuesday. It was a small thing but the anticipation of waiting for the package turned a good purchase experience into a bad one. Price is fair and the camera is great, overall, it was a fair experience which could have been a great one."

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE. Obvious bait and switch house. First they tried to upsell me on a $200 sd card for the GPS I ordered that I can get for $15. Then he says I can get 'updated maps for another $30 which is an abject lie. Then of course nothing happens. They can't sell at the advertised price so they simply ignore the order that they said is in stock and ships within a day or two. Then after 10 days you have to cancel. SCAM!"

"I wanted to take this time to THANK the people at FotoConnection for the OUTSTANDING job they did in customer service for me with the purchase of my Samsung TV. They went way out of their way to make the purchase get to my home in time for the Holidays.
Jonathan and Josh were EXCELLENT in the orchestration of the purchase and delivery of the TV. A great thank you also to the delivery men of A & B Trucking that took a white glove approach to the set up portion of this experience, enough to make me feel great enough to leave this kind of feedback.

"Purchased a camera with included accessories and also purchased additional accessories. Camera ad said came with MMC Plus Card. When camera arrived, it did not include the card. FotoConnections said it would mail a card but wanted $6.99 shipping. I said I would return camera but they never provided RMA number for return. BEWARE!!!!"

"The sales and web site misrepresented the camera I was trying to purchase. I called FotoConnection sales to confirm that the Canon 50D on the web site for $959 was a USA model with the USA warranty. The sales person, Louis, confirmed that it was a USA model with USA warranty and further said that FotoConnection ONLY sells products for the USA market. I ordered the camera from the web site the next day. I called back to confirm my web order. The sales person then said that that the camera I ordered was NOT the USA model and if I wanted to purchase the USA warranty. I immediately cancelled the order. I will not do any business with FotoConnection again.

UPDATE (1/16/2009): FotoConnection called me today to apologize for the inconvenience. They asked me if I wanted any accessories to update my review to a more positive one. I declined.

So I'm looking for a new digital camera and I finally settled on getting a Canon Rebel Xsi.. After searching around locally at .....

Now my story:

Dissatisfied

My wife and I decided to upgrade our current camera, I had looked around at different cameras and after talking with people and reading reviews I had decided on the Canon Rebel Xsi. Now with that knowledge I started pricing them and found this place to be a good deal - or so I thought. People always research and check out the products they want to by but overlook the companies SELLING them. I too had over looked this.

Well I came across the best price from a place called FOTOCONNECTION. Thye had a great price for the whole unit of $654.00 which included two lenses a bag etc.. It said the camera was in stock so I said sure and ordered it over the internet on a Sunday.

No E-Mail confirmation was received on Monday so I called first thin Tuesday and talked with MY rep Nick D ext 2074. Right off the bat he said
"the lenses in my order were low quality and were not made for the digital cameras and that he could upgrade me to full digital Tamaron lenses for $200"
I told him "I thought it was a digital package and that the lenses should be for digital cameras and that I could not afford the upgrade"
he said "he could drop it to $150 and upgrade both lenses and upgrade the memory card to a high speed card"
I said I still could not afford that and he immediately went down on the price again this time it was only $100 more for a total of $759, I thought about it and decided it didn't sound to bad especially if I was getting better lenses and a better memory card. As soon as I said yes he babbled something I couldn't understand and hung up. I did receive an email conformation this time like within 10 min. Still thinking this was a good deal I signed it and sent it back. -PROBLEM-

I went back to the web site to look over their packages again, since I was paying more anyways I looked at higher priced packages from my original order and came across a package that contained Two Canon lenses (package 12 my original package was 15) PLUS a flash and a mini tripod, AND it cost $724 which could save me a little and get me more. WIthin 30 min I called Nick ext 2074 back and explained the situation and asked to switch packages he mumbled something again about it would take 30 min to get another conformation out and to call back then (that was around 9:30 am MST) After 30 min called him back asking if the conformation was done yet he hurriedly said it would take another 30 min and to just wait for the conformation to come. I did receive an email with and shipping error so I had to call the billing dept. to clear this up, called a lady there - cleared up the shipping error, and asked her to send me and email conformation of my order change since I had not got one yet, she said she would get it right out, this was around 11:00 am MST I believe. NOW it is 3:00 pm MST and no conformation. I again called this time talking to a Franco and asked for a conformation but this time I asked him if he knew what my total was? He said it was for $759 so I told him the situation in which I switched packages and so on (which he could have cared less) and sent me into the phone que, presumably to talk to my rep Nick D ext 2074, which I stayed in for 30 min or so until I was talking to Nick D ext 2074. I explained who I was AGAIN and explained that he was going to switch my package orders but it didn't get done, could he do it now? He told me it was now to late that it was already in shipping and there was nothing he could do. We went around and around about this until he transfered me to a Andy (ext 2071) where I again explained everything. He too told me it was to late but that he would submit a claim for the situation stating "what could it hurt". I did tell him if he could send me the flash and mini-tripod in the other offer or take some money of the other order I would be ok with that - no dice.

ANYWAYS

I did get the package on the 6th, deciding not to refuse it but to keep it figuring I did get a deal. Looking at the the items and the invoice the only thing that did get changed of "UPGRADED" was the smaller 28-80 lens. Package 15 contained a Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 DG Compact High Speed Zoom AF Lens for Canon EOS, Tamaron 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Macro AF Lens for Canon EOS and GoDIgital 4GB Secure Digital Memory Card
what I received was a TAMRON 28-80MM F/3.5-5.6 DIGITAL AUTOFOUCS ASPHERICAL LENS FOR CANON SLR CAMERAS a TAMRON ZOOM TELEPHOTO 75-300MM F/4.0-5.6 DIGITAL AUTOFOUCS LD MACRO AF LENS FOR CANON EOS (SAME LENS-=no upgrade) and a GODIGI 4GB ELITE SUPER HIGH SPEED 50MB PER SECOND SECURE DIGITAL MEMORY CARD (SAME card-=no upgrade) So they only "UPGRADED" the one lens.

"I bought a Tom Tom at photo connection and was so pleased with the customer service and quick response I bought another one. The price was cheaper than any other site. I will go to Foto Connection next time I purchase anything to see if they carry it first. "

"I own a photography studio in Manhattan and have used Fotoconnection for the first time to buy a Sigma macro lens. I use it to take detailed shots of my clients jewelry. I had not read the reviews on here before buying and might not have made my purchase if I had. My order was handled just fine and was received in the time frame promised. "Ordered online, so wasn't bait N Switched. BUT after waiting 3 weeks for product to arrive, I called for status of order. Was told my order was shipped and should arrive shortly. Another week passed and I called again. This time they told me my order was cancelled because they could not find the electric range they advertised and sold me. This really disrupted my plans to rent out this apartment. ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS NOTIFY ME VIA PHONE, EMAIL, US MAIL ... WHATERVER that they were not going to fulfill this order. WHAT A SCUMBAG COMPANY !"

" I placed my order for a Nikon D40 package, including battery and lense, the 18-55mm AF. I received a call late that afternoon to call back to talk to Tom. I called before 5:30 ET. They were closed, but said to call before that time in the email I was also sent. On Sunday I called and dialed Toms extension and got a quick talking person who wanted to sell me a battery, a special battery that only fit this camera for $159. I refused because I already own a battery and the camera comes with one. He then proceeded to say only this battery works with the D40. I refused. Then I was offered an "upgraded" lense, the same that comes with the package as stated on their website. I refused, and was offered a "special" digital lense instead of the normal lense. I refused knowing this to be complete BS. Then he said that he would upgrade the lense to autofocus and included the battery for only $50 more. I refused since this came with it. And he asked if I was sure. I said yes and he asked why I could not afford $50 more for this "deal" but could manage to afford the 387.00 camera. I asked if I could cancel the order and he said OK it will be processed and hung up.

DO NOT order from these people. Report them to the New York attorney general, the Better Business Bureau, and call the FTC for their prices below the SRP set by Nikon (even though I disagree with this law, here it can at least be used to advantage to fine this company for their bad business practices).

I have canceled my order and will update this if needed.
