"I had been warned about these companies and the reasons for their cheap prices. I ordered a Nikon D90 body and charged $789 to my visa. I did not receive a call until Tuesday about the order. The CSR proceeded to try to up sell pretty much anything and everything. And then finally told me my order was on the way. I had not received anything since. I called today and the CSR was rude and short. Only interested in up selling. He went on about "my camera is on back order and i can purchase a higher priced item". For a $100 more. When I said this was unacceptable, his response was this "That's too bad. You either want this or not". I asked to have my order cancelled and he said why. After dealing with this CSR for about 2 minutes, i told him to cancel my order. Completely unforgiving of a company and their sell tactics are illegal."

"Customer service was great. Leo was the person who took my call. He was patient with me and explained away some of my confusion. He also apologized for the item that was missing from my order and fixed it without hesitation. I highly recommend this store and will do business with them again."

"I don't know about all the negative reviews as I had no trouble at all. I placed my order for a Nikon SB900 on Feb 9th, 2009 and had a call back from Ralph the same day to confirm the order and to make sure I ordered the item I needed. It shipped 2 days later and was received in California on the 17, (UPS Ground). Product was in unopened factory box with all accessories. I am very pleased with the service and especially the price."

"Quite possibly one of the rudest, pushiest "businesses" I've ever dealt with. I originally purchased a D40 from them with next day air delivery and then called back 3 days later to check on the order status. I got a different representative than when I originally purchased the D40. He told me that the kit was out of stock, well why wasn't I told that when I ordered it? I then canceled that order and placed an order for a D80 with another representative. He acted like I knew nothing about cameras or anything. He tried to push me into buying a "digital" lens that doesn't even exist and told me that the factory battery only lasts 15 minutes in the D80. I let that slide and then did some reviews on the store and saw that there are PLENTY of unhappy customers so I called and canceled my order and the rep said "ok, order canceled" and then hung up. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS "COMPANY"."

"Well, since i posted this review i have received several phone calls from fotoconnection. First from John then Leo. Both saying they want to help me, but really only calling to get me to take this post off. When we ordered this camera, they put the information in wrong. ie my address and the company did not approved the transaction and put that money on hold. Then when i called they put it through a second time. And I was charged again. I had contacted my credit company and they said it was up to fotoconnection to contact them, this is a prepaid account, to let them know that the charge was to be cancelled. I contacted their billing department 2 times and 1 with my credit company to let them know what to send to the credit company so that this could be reversed. Well as of today the money still has not been returned to me. When John and Leo called it was only for this review to be taken off not for their concern over my money. This is not the first time I had dealt with fotoconnection. The first time I ordered in the summer the same thing happened, the confirmation etc. But was not charged twice. I felt very bullied by these men. Leo offered me a warranty for the camera we bought but have yet to see it. I feel very frustrated at this company. they want to sell us than what we need and when you call them to resolve issues they are rude. I wish they were sincere in their Customer Service, but they are only looking at how to make more money. Very disappointed.

UPDATE: I did get the warranty but not the money. At Leo did half of what he said he would do. I now have to wait until tomorrow for the hold to be removed from the card to get the money. Fotoconnection did nothing to help me get the money back any faster when it was their mistake. It caused alot of problems. Why should i have to wait 3 weeks for a mistake they made?
It is not fair and then deal with rude customer service. Good Luck if you buy from them. Remember the saying BUYER BEWARE

"Original Review:

Ordered product 01/28/09, requested next-day shipping, since then they have said my billing information was incorrect (which it was not, and they verified, this was a thinly veiled opportunity for them to try selling me accessories and warranties I neither wanted nor needed), that it had shipped (it hadn't), that it would ship (it didn't), and that it will ship today (not holding my breath).

3/17/09 Update:

In all fairness I should tell the rest of the story, after the above experience I went more-or-less ballistic, got a guarantee "Josh" would have a tracking number by 7pm on 02/03/09 (never happened) finally on the 5th I called 4 times adamant I wanted the product shipped they finally admitted it wouldn't ship until maybe Monday the 9th (Ah-HA!) "Cancel the order then" and they agreed. Just to make sure "and you will credit my credit card?" "Of course." Just to make sure I went on-line and requested cancellation through the web-site. "Finally I am done with this company"... Or so I thought... The NEXT DAY 02/06/2009 I get an e-mail from ****@**** asking me to call "Louis" to confirm my order information! So, I call Josh, I call Louis, and insist my order was canceled, finally with results, an e-mail acknowledging my cancellation. SUCCESS!!! Or so I thought... A week later they still hadn't credited my credit card, so I call once again and ask they return my funds. The pleasant gentleman explained their credit department had not yet processed my request and he would prioritize it, and got me my credit the next day. Finally, done with this company!

Or so I thought, they do take this review site seriously, have read my review and contacted me twice so far to insure I am a "happy customer" they have offered me free merchandise and given me a $25 gift certificate to placate me (and more importantly amend my review). I finally agreed to update my review and this is the result.

I had a poor experience with this company, such a bad experience as I feel compelled to share that experience with others. I would not recommend this company to friends, I would not recommend this company to strangers, I would recommend this company to Wall Street Hedge Fund Managers and senior AIG staff. See how they like seeing their money disappear into a black hole from whence it may never return.

In the end I cancelled my order, cancelled my credit card, drove down to the local camera store to buy the lens full-retail, and was happy to be done with the episode.

"When I ordered a Casio Exilim camera, the sales person that confirmed my order told me the battery that came with the camera was only a demo battery that only lasted a very short time, & I needed to order the extedned life battery if I wanted to have more than 15 min. of camera life. Yet, when it arrived the "long life" battery was exactly the same battery that came with the camera. Complete lie. Don't buy from this company!!!!

Update 10/23/09: I was contacted by Calvin ***-***-**** ext 4208. He was inquiring why I left a bad review. I explained it to him and he said the company was under new management and they wanted to right any past wrongs. He explained the original salesman had actually done me a favor because the battry was inferior(which is complete BS). Anyway he wanted to make it up to me by sending me yet another battry (which I didn't need because I have 2 because of the other salesman) I said sure. He said if he does that would I change my review, I said sure. It's been 2 months and I never received the third battry. So I stick with my original review: DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY'RE THEIVES AND LIERS!!!! If it was possible to give a lower review I would.
