"Gamestop is rubbish. They advertise a deal. You order and nothing happens for few days. Call them and you get "There is a problem with your order, its now cancelled and you will get your money back". They charged my credit card and no refund yet after 6 days. Will not want to buy with them ever again."
"Rude customer service staff and terrible management. Horrible returns policy (non-existent). Used to shop there frequently until a recent run-in with their incompetent staff in Greenville, NC. Attempted to contact their corporate customer service but received no response. In other words, they don't care. I will never go back to any Gamestop location now. Taking my business to Amazon and Walmart, I recommend very strongly that you do the same."
"Downloaded PC games for the first time a few months ago. The download app and the games worked great and I had no problems with the purchase. Even better, when I got a new computer I was able to download the games to it and play them with no problems or any more charges.
The only think I didn't like was that a lot of the games I liked or wanted weren't on there to download."
"If you are considering doing business with this chain, just take your money and burn it. You will be better off in the long run. What a bunch of clowns. They are unable to complete the simplest task without wasting your time. How hard is it to complete an online order? For gamestop, apparently very hard. "
"My son received a new 3DS for Christmas and a GameStop gift card. With it he purchased a new Transformers game at our local Montgomeryville, PA store. They had a used game in stock as well but the manager recommended they buy a new one. We hand the new case to the manager who then opens a cabinet and takes a game and puts in in the case. He then puts a sticker over the case and tells us its new. We get home and my son can't get more than 30 seconds into the game without dying. He tries this repeatedly and finally gives up after about 10 minutes. We decide to return the game, but the gamestop store won't take it back because its new and opened. Well it was opened when we bought it since I saw you put the game into the case and put a sticker on it. The assistant manager then becomes abusive and suggests we can either trade it in for $5 or keep it for a few years when hopefully by son will be old enough to do better at the game. He basically suggested my son was an idiot for not being able to play the game and got a smug attitude about it all saying "That's our policy and there's nothing I can do about it." So now my son has no game to play on his new 3DS and the folks in charge at our gamestop store don't care about it at all. This pretty much sums up how terrible they are as a company. In gamestop the customer is never right so avoid them at all costs."
"Since I was purchasing a refurbished Ipod Touch for my nephew, I finally broke down and bought a refurbished Ipod Classic for myself. The Touch was in good condition with a fully charged battery and my nephew loves it.
As for the Ipod Classic, the battery was fully discharged, but I didn't think too much about that. I charged it and it turned on. There was music on it, but I thought it was samples from the factory. Unforturnately, I waited 4 months before trying to load it since I had other things in my life that were more important. When I did try to load it, I kept getting errors. Went online to the boards and found how to run the diagnostics. Turns out the hard drive is failing -- already 12 GB unusable. I took it back to Game Stop, but the manager said 4 months was too long and he would not do anything about it. I said that it came with music on it and he said that it should have been wiped clean at the factory and still would not do anything about it. I said that the item had to be ordered and took almost 2 weeks longer to get in than what I was told. He asked if it had been ordered from another store, but I did not know where it was ordered from and again he did nothing -- not even willing to look up the records to see where it was ordered from.
I know I was wrong to wait so long, but he still could have looked up the records, especially, since the hard drive had not been cleaned off. I'm thinking that the device was returned to another store as defective and then sent to the Southtown Game Stop in BLoomington, Minnesota to be sold again."
"I received as a gift, a play station portable 3000 from GameStop for Christmas this year. It came with the the charge cord, which didn't work so had to wait until the day after Christmas to use my new toy, which after getting the new cord works. The unit did not come with the USB cord as it should. This was purchased at the Redmond, OR store. Tonight I went by GameStop in Bend, purchased a psp game, move and the USB cord. The game did not work so now I have to buy another one. That was the last one so it cannot be replaced. The other bad thing about this company is alot of psp games with NO original case and NO booklet. Why do customers throw away the booklets and cases??? The Gamestop should replace them not put the game in one of their blank cases. I would go elsewhere if there was elsewhere to go. However, I am on a fixed income with a ton of debt and no accessible bank about right now so ordering online is very difficult to impossible, so these store are my only place to get the psp games and accessories unfortunately. "
"Purchased a NEW uDraw tablet controller for the xbox. It came in an opened, torn retail box in un-giftable condition. The software inside the box was also opened. The previous owners of this tablet were kind enough to leave a sticker label from a pair of Levi's jeans on the manual. Do not buy from GameStop; you may receive customer returns sold as new."
"Gamestops return policy sucks. I bought a new system and went to return it the next day and they wouldnt take it back even though it was messed up and the manager wasnt very nice about the whole thing either, never shopping at gamestop again. thank god walmart doesnt require receipt to return stuff."
"The Gamestop at Metro Crossing in Council Bluffs, Iowa is incredible. Very clean store, awesome employees who know their "stuff" as well as extremely friendly. They host midnight release parties and have give-aways! The best Gamestop store in the US! Thank you for doing such a great job. Keep up the awesome work you do and give your employees a pat on the back."
"Preordered the black ops 2 care package was supposed to be delivered in 4 days (was coming from about 5 hours away)and emailed customer service and received an automated email stating to contact them after 10 days. Called them after 10 days and was told that they would put a tracer on it and if they couldn't find it I would be shipped another one and it could take another 7-10 days. After 7 days I look in my bank account and there is the purchase price refunded but not the shipping cost. So I call and sit on hold again for another 45 minutes and I ask the lady what is going on with my order? She responded "we received the return" I said I didn't want a return and I never received anything so why am I being charged for shipping. She said she would put in a request for a shipping refund which I never received. Apparently their preorder guarantee does not guarantee anything. Not only did I not receive anything but I was charged $8 to receive nothing. Didn't even get an apology or an offer for another item (which I can only guess is because they are not available anymore and someone within gamestop wanted it) .Wouldn't you think that they would have done something to compensate for all the headache that they caused. Bad customer service, poor preorder policy, store workers are incompetent, trade in prices are a joke and prices are outrageous. Amazon had the care package for the same price with free shipping. Also I contacted corporate and received no response either so from here I will have to contact the better business bureau for the return of my shipping cost. gamestop is a sad excuse for a business."
"Very bad store, go somewhere else. No return, no rufund, not nice, very low price for your trade in."
"Ordered my Wii U, got an email on Monday the 12th saying my card didn't go through. First, I never have issues my Amazon credit card. It should have gone through. So, I followed the steps and updated it with a different card. My PNC credit card that has a 12,000 limit with nothing on it. I waiting all week, then Friday, no shipping notice, Monday comes, no Shipping notice. I call in today, and it's stuck in limbo. They never recharged the card. They expected me to call in?!?! No, I did everything on my end. This is absolutely absurd. Not only did I not get the Wii U on the release date, now I didn't get it the day after. And I'm not even guaranteed tomorrow! Wow. Last order ever from Gamestop.com and I will never walk into a retail store of theirs again either.
Newegg and Amazon are my friends.
UPDATE^^
They did refund my shipping charge which is somewhat of a nice gesture, but I had to fight them for it."
"I ordered the care package, 3-4 day shipping and its been a week i still havent goten black ops 2. Worst freakin shipping service ever!!!!!!!! Do not order anything from gamestop. The only thing i like from thier is thier used games, good prices."
"Honestly, i'm reviewing the customer service aspect of the website, not the actual store, i've called 15 times in 2 days, various times and all I'm getting is a busy signal. Call me crazy but aren't they supposed to be open 7 days a week 8am-8pm? This is a joke right? If they seriously do not respond soon I will never buy from them again. i have spent more than 5000 dollars at gamestop, in the past year."
