"I was a little shaky on GameVE after reading the large number of negative comments left by users. I did order from GameVE a few years back and did not have any serious issues with the company. Price was good, and shipping went smoothly. Because of the successful first order, I decided to give them another try and ordered an MSI FX5900 Ultra 256MB nBOX bundle. they definitely had one of the lowest prices w/ included shipping. I did find another reseller with a lower price, but chose GameVE since I have dealt with them successfully in the past. I placed the order on 3/19/04 @ 11:58PM. The order was then listed as received on 3/20/04 @ 6:43PM. The order was then sent to warehouse on 3/22/04 @ 11:41AM and was listed as being shipped on 3/23/04 @ 6PM. The actual ship date according to FedEx was the 22nd of March, so my item actually went out quicker than listed on the GameVE order status page. 3 days to process and ship the order out is not bad, it's no Newegg, but still very acceptable. There were no problems with the item being "out of stock" when it was listed as "in stock". I've seen some reviews about complaints on not receiving email confirmations about their order status from GameVE, I myself did not receive any updates on when the item shipped, but GameVE's order status feature on the website is actually better than most other on-line retailers. It seems to be pretty real-time, and actually updates information accurately (except for the my item shipping out quicker than was actually listed). It does make sense that they have the system in place, having an automatic emailer when order status changes should be easy, but I am happy with GameVE's on-line account/status feature. I received the package on 3/25. I've read concerns over poor packing for shipment @ GameVE, but my item was packed perfectly, totally surrounded in packing peanuts. I carefully checked the box and contents. Everything was new, and in perfect condition. No sign of tampering, use or refurbs. I triple checked the integrity of the video card itself by comparing bios, Part numbers & visually comparing the card to images I found on the web - everything was legit. The card serial number was even matching on the box as well. After burn in & testing for a few days, I am satisfied that the everything went smoothly, and my product is in perfect shape with no problems. This was definitely a good transaction."

"Bought a few parts from them with no problems, parts worked fine except for the CD Burner/DVD player combo drive. Had problems with the tray not openning correctl, sent it back to them (RMA) for an exchange of the same product.
They recieved the package 3/20/04 and began processing on the 23rd. It is now the 27th and the stats has yet to change, still in processing phase. A little slow here and it is costing me money as the compter is beign built for someone else.
If I knew it would take this long, I would have just said forget the RMA and try and fix it myself."
"Be wary of their items marked as "OEM". They aren't truly OEM versions of the retail products. Instead they are either refurbished or returned items. In short, "used". I bought a motherboard from them, described as the OEM version, and it had dust on some areas of it, like it had been inside a machine for considerable period of time. It worked fine, but it wasn't a new board.
The motherboard was missing a cable too, and it took three calls and several weeks before someone there finally made an effort to ship me out the missing cable. It was the wrong cable after all that."
"BFG 5900. I have to say that they shipped the card fast and free. It arrived all shiny and new, when I plugged it in I got the vertical lines and black screen in windows. I never called or emailed Gameve so I cannot vouche for what they would have done. I called BFG tech support and they told me it was due to faulty memory, and gave me an RMA#. I asked about the high rate of problems listed in forums with BFG 5900's purchased at gameve and he said that they had been set a bad batch of cards. As to how I still got one in March I dont know, I thought this was cleared up in Feb. I cant really say that it is gameve.com's fault but this is irritating. O, the price was outstanding even after spending six dollars sending it RMA to BFG. I am still waiting for it to return :(
I finally got the card back from BFG. It works like a charm, all happy now!"
"Very slow delivery. Expected shipped out 24th or 25th at lastest to arrive before weekend with Fedex 2 day but come to find out will not be recieved at earliest Monday 29th.
So i would rate 2 out of 5 stars for service as I can usually get the "same" items shipped out next day or day after. Not 3-4 days after order was placed"

"Ordered some software on CD-ROM. The disc arrived literally broken off on one side, due to the lack of any protective packing. After returning the item (at my own expense), the replacemnet disc arrived today. It was better packed, but the disc had been intentionally ruined with two deep, full-width scratches. It also appeared to have been used. Now I'm doing a _second_ exchange, but for now, I've got to say GameVE is the pits.

"Very poor service. Sent several emails regarding order status, never answered. Beware of "Exprss Handling" fee, cost me $3.99 to "rush my order" and ship same day, except it didn't ship for 28 hours. What a scam!
Finally received an email notice saying order shipped and I would receive another email with tracking number. That was 5 days ago, still no tracking number!
UPDATE 3/19/2004 - OK, I did get in touch with Gameve customer service and found out that the item was backordered, but for some reason no one ever notified me. Gameve apologized for this mixup. I decided not to wait because there was no firm commitment date from the manufacturer to Gameve as to when the backorder might be filled.
My purchase price was promptly refunded by the customer service manager. Although the quoted "in stock" on the web site was erroneous, and my order got lost in the shuffle, Gameve finally did their best to satisfy me and credited my charge account promptly. Based on this I might be inclined to purchase from them again in the future, however I will be very careful of the "in stock" and shipping details before ordering."
"I was billed twice for a defective board, that I had ordered and returned. I wish I had the time and energy to document the horrendous treatment some of which I am still going through with these people.
You would think the so called GM (Lawrence Lu) actually cares about the business but unfortuantely the only thing that is done fast and eagerly at GameVE is charging your card. I am going to contact the local TV station wherever their office is located and expose them.
Do not act like I did, I read the reviews but decided to give them the benefit of doubt regardless...(bad bad move) and am paying dearly for it now. "
"Good prices, shipped my ram pretty fast. Had a mixup with the shipping addy on my cc, but that was my fault. Their service was very on top of the situation, and still got my order out fast. Their website doesnt always update your order status on weekends it seems, my order had been picked up by fedex on fri but they didnt show a tracking number till mon morn. But I would buy from them again."
