"Save your time, money and frustration and DO NOT attempt to order Rx sunglasses from this place! My wife order me a pair of Rx Oakley sunglasses mid-February 2018. Understanding that this is going to take a while we waited... top of March we get an email... said I “forgot” to give the measurement from pupil to pupil. Not sure why this information wasn’t required to place the order online, but ok here you go. And we wait.... my wife calls mid-March to check the status. She told “the frames were shipped to Oakley, it’s in process” - great! Now, today, almost the end of March I get an email saying “sorry to inform you the sunglasses you ordered are on back order”. Huh? I thought they were already sent to get lenses? So I call them. They quickly inform me that it’s all Oakley’s fault... ummm, but you said you shipped the frames!?!? More lip service, ok I concede. How about this other pair of Oakley Rx sunglasses that are listed on your website under the prescription section? After about 5 minutes they say “I’m sorry, those are not available in Rx”. At this point I give up, refund the order. Supposedly they did. Let’s see if I have to go to BBB to make that happen. BUYER BEWARE!"
"these people have been promising a refund for over a month. very unprofessional, bad and inaccurate communication. they are horrible."
"Not a good experience buying glasses online. It took 3 weeks for someone from glasses.com to reply to my email asking for a status of the glasses. The reply from glasses.com asked for the PD measurement that was not asked for in the online order form. Finally, I got my prescription Ray-Ban sunglasses a week after I submitted the PD measurement. I gave them 1 star for shipping within a week. However, upon inspection of the sunglasses , there is a defect in one of the lens. The left lens was made a bit too small and left a gap between the lens and the frame. I took a picture of the defect and sent it to glasses.com. So far after a week, there is no reply from glasses.com. You get what you pay for when you buy glasses online. Poor service and poor quality glasses. "
"I have ordered multiple pairs of glasses over the last couple years, and I've always had a great experience. I would recommend having them CALL your clinic, so they get all the correct information for your prescription. When there was a problem with one of my orders, I called and the customer service rep helped me and did a great job. I would definitely recommend this site for quick and easy ordering, and great service!"
"I see a lot of negative reviews for this company. I had a good experience with ordering. When I first placed my order the computer system cancelled it, I called them and they reprocessed the order and even gave me free rush shipping. I got the glasses in less than a week. I love my glasses and plan to purchase from them in the future. Another plus, is the fact that the customer service is great!"
"Glasses.com can't handle basic ecommerce. I never received an email confirmation and my order was deleted an hour after I placed it. I called to find out what happened and was told it could be resolved. I asked multiple times for an order confirmation and they couldn't supply one. These basic issues caused me to look at other people's experiences. After seeing how poor this company at the time of purchase, I believe all the horror stories after the order is placed. I canceled and I still have no confirmation of that other than verbal."
"The most baffling part about Glasses.com is how they're an online service for purchasing glasses and their website doesn't display information correctly. I tried to place an order back in December 2017, but the information provided on their website was riddled with incorrect data -- prices were wrong, insurance coverage would be applied incorrectly; the actual details/ glasses measurements would be mismatched. It was a nightmare. You call them on the phone and the reps are all very polite and helpful. I had to end up placing the order over the phone.
Then comes the "Pupillary Distance" measurement. I've never had to do such a measurement before (perks of going in person at a store I guess), but it took over 2 weeks to get them to calculate my measurement. And I would keep getting follow-up emails from them even after I've responded.
They then email me to call them because there's an error with my order. Mind you, it is January 2018 now. I place my order again over the phone with another representative. I end up picking out new frames based on what I see on their website. I'm told I should get my glasses by next week. Instead, a couple days later, I get another email from them saying that the frames I selected are out of stock.
It's been the most ridiculous experience. Clearly they have incredible operational inefficiencies. The reps you speak to over the phone are all wonderful. But what does that do for you if you can't get what you want? I'm placing the order over the phone and the reps don't even know what's in stock??
The entire purpose of glasses.com's business is to make the online glasses purchase experience seamless. But they can't even get their website right. They don't even know their inventory.
Buyers beware. Save yourselves the hassles of waiting weeks to get glasses and problems every step of the way with order placement.
It's now 2018 and I can't even use my 2017 benefits. What an incredible WASTE of my time. "
"Tried to order a pair of glasses online using insurance, but the system kept changing the price. I gave CS a call and they said my eye insurance benefits have changed for the year to be more expensive. To my surprise they matched the initial price due to a technical error and send the glasses expedited shipping!! That was unbelievably nice of them! Later I found out on my invoice, she threw in the clean shield for free! This is an incredible buy, and I will be buying and recommending this website to all. "
"I had ordered glasses from glasses.com twice before with no issues but I'm afraid their company and, most of all, customer service has gone severely downhill. I was excited when I entered a 50% off promo code at check out and my order total was sliced down to $172, a deal concidering I have a very strong prescription. It wasn't until nearly 3 weeks later when I still hadn't even received word that my order had shipped that I checked my credit card statement to see if I was charged yet. I was charged- $344 TWICE as much as I had agreed to when I entered my payment information. When I called glasses.com they said the coupon code wasn't valid on the frames I had picked out and nothing could be done about it; the order couldn't even be cancelled as it was already (more like still) in production. I was told I would have to wait for the product and then return the glasses to get a refund. Imagine!? Holding twice as much money as I had authorized for a month plus by time the whole situation was settled? Not to mention I was given an attitude and it was suggested I was lying about the promo code working because they'd never encountered this before. So automatically I'm at fault, even a liar!? Horrible customer service I will never use them again. "
"Didn't buy glasses from them, but they have an app where you upload a picture of yourself and you can "try" all of their frames to see what they look like on your face. But they put a **** rectangle across your forehead, eyes and nose after you "try on" the frames. "
"I ordered my glasses over 2 weeks ago, and there is still no status on their website. When I try to email them (no phone number that I can find), no one ever responds. They have charged my credit card, however!!! Very nerve racking."
"I JUST got off the phone with a customer service agent trying to get information about my order. I received an email saying my glasses will be shipped in 3 days. That was a week ago, I asked the agent told me if there was more information, is there a reason for the delay? He said "no it takes time and well you just have to wait". That is just not acceptable."
"Ordered glasses for my teenage daughter. She was excited to find Ray-Bans on the site and we ordered the glasses with the "high index lens" for prescriptions greater that +3.5. The website does not caution or inform that they have very limited lens manufacturing capabilities. Glasses.com cancelled our order when we sent in a prescription for lens +4.50. When I called them and advised them that cancelling the order was insensitive (my daughter cried asking why her eyes are so bad that this company will not even make lens for her?), they advised that they publish their limited manufacturing capabilities way down in the FAQ page. I of course reassured my daughter that the defect is not her eyes, but a very poorly run company that hides their limitations exposing people to their deceptive business practices, as they repeatedly advised me that I could buy the frames from them and were only interested in promoting the sell of the frames. HORRIBLE, INSENSITIVE, UGLY."
"First they lost my order. When I contacted them they blamed it on a software glitch. They reinstated the order. Then I received an email saying their lab could not make my prescription. They also send me emails promoting certain frames. When I go to the web site the art sold out. Avoid glasses.com"
"I bought 2 pairs of rx glasses. The first pair did not look how I hoped they would on my face - so I thought okay the website says easy, free returns so no big deal! I ordered a different pair, and returned the 1st pair. I shipped them back on 2/1, the tracking says they arrived at the facility on 2/3. On 2/10 I had not received a refund, so I e-mailed customer service asking for an update as to when I would be receiving the money back. They replied on 2/13 and said, "We apologize for the extended wait. We refunded your card for $229 today. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance." My credit card can take a few days to show changes, so I gave it some time. On 2/23, I still had not received a refund. I e-mailed again stating that I had not received a refund. They replied same day with, "Great news! We received your glasses back to our distribution center and we have processed a full refund back to you credit card ending in [xxxx]. [Your insurance benefits are available again as well]. You should see the refund post to your account in the next 3-10 business days. if you do not see the charge returned soon i would recommend to contact your card company we can send an invoice if needed." Again, I wait quite some time. I have a busy life like most people and I checked my next credit card statement - still no refund! So I call my credit card company on 3/16, and thankfully they were able to credit me the money I had not been refunded. The credit card company also let me know that the merchant did confirm they had received the product I returned, and the credit card company will be taking it from here.
The products themselves weren't bad - they seem well made, however, I found both pairs of glasses to be the most easily smudged glasses I've ever owned (I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years)! I'm CONSTANTLY cleaning my glasses. I did not pay for the smudge proofing they offer, but I have never opted for that option with any pair I've ever owned so I did not think it was necessary.
Also, it says on the website you can go to Lenscrafters to get your glasses adjusted. I did so, and was treated like a nuisance at Lenscrafters as well.
I wil never be buying glasses from this vendor again. "
