They need more money

"9 days after I place my order they tell me they need more money! When i placed my order they accepted my insurance and i paid the difference. I had even called them a few days after I had placed my order and everything was fine. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! "

Glasses.com is YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE

"I will not be ordering from Glasses.com again, I have done so in the past with always great customer service. THAT WAS THEN, the reality is now the STINK. Terrible on the phone, no one knows anything, they put you on hold 50 million times and tell you incorrect info. I was wait for a 4th pair of glasses and 2 different reps said I wasn't charged for that pair that I never rec'd (and they never emailed or called to tell me that 4th pair was discontinued, I had to call and inquire) when my credit card shows I was CLEARLY charged for the 4th pair. Now i'm waiting for a "refund" so we will see how many months that takes. Keep your sanity and save your $$ and order glasses somewhere else. DON'T ORDER FROM GLASSES.COM!!!!"

I've had my readers for about 4 months now, thats the longest i have had a pair of readers last that long. Im hard on them.

"I love them! They take a beating and hold up. Ive had them about 4 months now and they are still in 1 peace and tight. By now i would be on my 6th or 8th pair from the dollar store. These a r e not cheap eye glasseses, they work and take beating. I wont buy anything else now for glasses , even cheaper ones. These are nice, like $200 to $300 pair for $15 bucks. Plus all the money im saving from replacing glasses! Shipping took a day!"

Terrible service and shaddy biz practice

"Took 3 times to get my order for new glasses correct. The 2nd time my order was lost. Afterward, I tried 5 times to unsubscribe from their constant advertising newsletter emails unsuccessfully, then I spoke to an agent and then a senior supervisor who assured me I would be unsunsubscribed. I still got the unwanted unsolicited ad emails. Finally had to contact the CA Attorney Generals office, Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. Stay away from Glasses.com!"

Was better before Luxottica bought them

"Been buying glasses periodically from them since 2014. Before 2015 when they were bought out by the parent company of Lenscrafters the quality was much better. Always no matter what the glasses arrive with problems. My recent order the lens were not tight with the frames so much so that they cracked and squeaked horribly and didn't feel tight. They felt loose and ridiculous for $300.00. I called and spoke to the customer service. I explained that obviously the lens were made to small for the frames. They said please take a picture and send it to us because we want our techs to know when they make a mistake. Damn that's some passive aggressive attitude towards their optometrists. Not a surprise that they give zero **** in build quality. I said well it doesn't really look like they are all that small but maybe they just didn't heat the frame enough or at all. The frame also wasn't bent correctly and looked like it was made for the world's fattest face. She then put me on hold and said I am going to speak to a specialist, AKA her coworker next door. She got on and then said her "specialist" said that her glasses form lenscrafters do that and that is normal. I said oh really I have had glasses for a long time and they are not supposed to make any noise if put together properly. I then proceeded to bend the arms and demonstrate the horrible crackling and squeaking. I said did you hear that, she said yes I did. She said well you can send them back because you are in your 30 days, not ever apologizing for the mistake. I said okay and she reordered the same frame and lens, this time sending them 2 day. I guess I only get 2 day instead of next day because I won't live with it.

Fast forward 5 days including a weekend and my glasses arrive. Hilariously before I even take the wrap off I can hear the same creek and crackle. This time the frames are bent properly so they fit an normal face but they still make the same noise. Obviously the workers at glasses.com are overloaded with orders, so they don't care about making glasses properly or they really don't know what they are doing. You like the think the former given they probably make a few hundred a day and perhaps they just don't have time to do it properly. I actually wore them for a day thinking I can just live with it because they only creek when I take them off plus they were really tight which I liked as the first pair was not. I guess I was more annoyed the next day because I was like forget this I am going to send them back. Before doing that I searched online about creek and squeak lens. Got to this forum that was visited by optometrists.

The solution for this is to pop the lens out, use a little mineral oil on the frames while heating. Heat up the frames with a heat gun on low or hair dryer if you don't have one. Pop the lens back in after heating until hot to the touch. Hold down the lens until cool. Glasses are perfect now and actually seem high quality as before they felt like dollar store glasses. You can bend the arms and there isn't a sound. After they cool completely then they shouldn't make any noise. The frames were also bent with the left lens as it looked like whomever tried to make these glasses tried but failed at heating the frames properly. There was a noticeable kink above the lens obviously from too much pressure applied. This was fixed after I heated the frame properly. The frame was also twisted in the middle from the same person not holding it correctly. I guess I should apply at lenscrafters or some place given that I already know a portion of the process in making glasses. Note, there is a substance called lens liner that they obviously don't know how to use or don't use but mineral oil seems to work just as well. Doesn't seem that hard.

Moral of the story, don't buy online for glasses unless you like fixing them yourself. I don't like doing this BS but I did it because I got tired of waiting for my substandard glasses to arrive. The lens coating they use is also really cheap so I expect the lens to scratch pretty soon. There is a piece of lint trapped between coatings but whatever, I guess that's what I get for getting a discount. Last time ever ordering glasses from glasses.com

DON'T...Just DON'T

"I really wish I reviewed their ratings before I ordered. I am getting the same exact service/experience that other's have written about. Ordered 2 different glasses on 9/4/18, both with 2 day expedited shipping. On 9/8/18, I still didn't receive any tracking info. Called them up and they told me "sorry, we accidentally cancelled your order and we have to resubmit". Awesome to start with. A week later I receive my first pair of prescription sunglasses (Ray Ban Aviators). I notice the Ray Ban logo is not on the lenses. I call to let them know and that I want what I paid for. They said that they make their lenses in house and it is not Ray Ban lenses (doesn't say that on their site). They said the logo doesn't show when you put it online. Oh yes it does. I had already screen grabbed my cart and sent it to them. The said, no problem just return them. Just great, I wait almost 2 weeks and this is the response. I reported them to Ray Ban (doubt anything will happen, but it made me feel better). I also left a review on their website for the aviators and guess what, now it's not there. Now, I am over 3 weeks and I still don't have an update on my other pair of sunglasses. It just shows "lab processing". I tried the chat feature 3 times and remarkably, it disconnected 3 X after I asked for an update. First and last time dealing with this joke of a company."

"THE COATINGS HAVE WORN OFF IN LESS THAT TWO YEARS. THE BEST THEY CAN DO IS GIVE A DISCOUNT ON A NEW PAIR. HEY, I HAVE A $500 OAKLEY FRAME AND YOU WANT TO OFFER ME A DISCOUNT ON A NEW COMPLETE SET? HA HA I GUESS THE JOKES ON ME. SAVE YOUR TIME EFFORT AND MONEY AND JUST SPEND A FEW DOLLARS MORE AND GET QUALITY. IF THIS IS A THIRD PAIR OF GLASSES, THEN MAYBE. AS A PRIMARY PAIR--GO TO COSTCO, YOUR OCAL OPTICIAN, HECK A USED PAIR FROM THE LION'S CLUB IS BETTER THAN WHAT YOU GET FROM THESE IMPOSTERS. THEIR PRODUCT IS INFERIOR, THEIR QUALITY IS LOWER THAN DIRT, THEIR WARRANTY IS A JOKE. ABOUT ALL THAT IS GOOD, I SPENT LESS THAN 30 SECONDS TO SPEAK TO A HUMAN!

Dont even want to give star pathetic website

"I first ordered glasses for which it did not apply my insurance until I went and contacted customer service .After that when I ordered it ,it dint update website for a while after that my order updated and it said shipped from last three days but no tracking number. Contacted customer care for tracking number and customer service gave wrong number since then I am waiting for the tracking number but in vain.
Pathetic website and very difficult to use.

Another sketchy site from Luxottica who wants to monopolize eyewear. AVOID!!!

"Placed an order for eyeglasses after calling their customer service to make sure the frames I was ordering were not Chinese-made garbage. The sales associate assured me that all brands were made in Italy or the USA. That was a blatant lie. Any frame on their site that does not clearly show the country of origin on one of the bows is MADE IN CHINA with no exceptions. They have carefully photoshopped every Chinese frame so origin can not be determined. Gee, I wonder why that is? Luxottica has acquired every eyeglass maker/reseller possible and then immediately outsourced 95% of production to good old China. It's one thing to do that, it's quite another to lie about the fact. Research carefully and refuse to support this shady LLC. Buy locally when possible and ask for American made frames (there are none I know of in the Luxottica family of brands). Artcraft and Shuron are both still made here in the USA and the only brands I will buy in the future."

One month from order... Still no glasses!

"I placed my order well over a month ago and they claim my glasses are STILL in production! Are there some magical elves creating my glasses out of some fairy tail materials or is this company completely incompetent? Well, by the looks of the reviews, I'd say incompetent! Please don't ever go down the rabbit hole that is Glasses.com. They will leave you disappointed and without glasses."

my prescription was too strong for them to handle. Um, what business are they in?

"Wow. Wasted so much time picking out a pair and sending them my information and then they call and say they can't handle my prescription. What are they doing there that they can't perform the basic functions of making functional glasses? If they were Starbucks they'd tell you they don't serve coffee. Terrible business."
