"I purchased two airport lounge vouchers for $14. The text implied that there would be no more fees involved. When I went to redeem the vouchers I was presented with an additional bill for $466. I asked for a refund and was denied with a bot and a boilerplate denial. This is a complete scam and dishonest and deceptive and I will never buy from Groupon again."

Cons artist website and piece of crap customer service. There like robots and do nothing to help you solve your issues. I purchased two boat ride tickets, it didn’t have me select a specific date but only said Monday to Thursday you could redeem it. Purchased them and then it took me to a website to view the ticket so I just followed the directions and then I had to select a date which the boat was for this week was full and we cannot use the ticket. We are coming from out of town so we only have this week to do it. No refund no canceling and customer service ****. They told me since I clicked view ticket, which the freaking website and instructions said to do so, that it redeems on their end? There is a separate redeem button which I never clicked. Never using app again and will be writing multiple and reviews on every website until they fix the problem. Will also be spreading the word in social media and do family and friends, will reach out to my bank and attorney regarding this fraud."

"Terrible customer service and business practice. This company is unbelievable. Receive money and booked me into a hotel location that had no vacancy. Hotel manager explained this is normal for GroupOn as she printed out my cancellation receipt. I am now up to my 4 Automated customer service representative. Continues to send the same script.. Seems like this company is great at receiving money. But refer to Amnesia when it comes to tracking or refunding any purchases. I wish we could do away with all the scams in this country"
"I was looking through at a product and wanted to see how much the total cost would be with taxes. I did not know that my credit card information had been saved to the Groupon site, and so all of a sudden I get a message that I had purchased the item. To make it worse, it was advertised in US funds, so what I thought was $30 Canadian, I just accidentally paid for at $39. I decided to swallow it, and figured I’d use it as a Christmas gift. But when I got to to merchant site, I found I had to pay even more money on top to actually purchase the item!
I spoke to Groupon customer support, and was told I could not get a refund because I had “redeemed” the groupon code. I said that I had to do so in order to find out the info on the merchant site. They refused to refund me. I said I would never use them again, As I felt totally misled.
Then to add insult to injury, I noticed that Although the item I purchased was on sale until the following day, Groupon had charged me the full price.
I got back on to Groupon Support and was told that I would be refunded the amount overcharged. However, the money did not go back to my credit card, it was given to me in Groupon Bucks! I will not be using that. I’m really upset and feel ripped off.

Sold us a vowcher cancelled by the seller. we contacted the seller who advised they have told groupon to stop selling this vowcher as ther are over subscribed.
Woprdt customer service I have ever come across, completely ignorant of customer care, and oblivious to the fact that this was a cancellation by the seller and refused to give us a refund, pretty much saying that the credit was as good as we was going to get.
They then asked that we contact ther reseller and get them to confirm to groupon that they cancelled the vowcher, so that we could then email groupon to confirm this.
SO BEWARE, you may have to do all the donkey work to get a refund as Groupon do not want to confirm that their sellers a valid or are actually offering the product groupon are selling. "
"Do not use Groupon! DO NOT USE GROUON. They refused to give me a refund for a service that was canceled by the company themselves, despite me asking for a refund the day after I purchased it and their policy of a guaranteed refund if requested within 3 days of purchase. This was a $300 purchase. Their reasoning is so that you can "support local businesses" instead of receiving a refund. This is interesting because individuals cannot support businesses if they themselves do not have money for luxury. Your money is better off being spent with the company themselves. Many times the companies will honor groupon prices if you purchase directly through them instead."
"okay so by now we all know that the government has closed things down due to the global crisis. However Groupon doesn't care. And they're not about to change any of the expiration dates for stuff that was purchased and you're unable to use due to the shutdown. they keep telling me over and over will you can still use the money that you paid for it. But if I wanted that money I would have went to the store directly and I would have gotten a gift card I wouldn't have thought I was getting double my money. I have contacted support numerous times and they have refused to give me money back or even extend the expiration date which was my first option. I bought several packages for my children right before the big shut down and now they're going to expire on June 1st. I would like to know how I'm supposed to use them when the stores are closed because they're non-essential businesses. Groupon does not care. Do not waste your money on here. You are way better off going to the store and getting a gift card because whatever you do you think you're getting you're not necessarily going to get"

I continuously asked Groupon what the status of my order was, but all they would tell me was that it was more than a month beyond the delivery window the company had promised. Still no product. When I finally requested a refund from Groupon, they agreed only to give me "Groupon bucks," rather than a refund for the product I never received. BUYER BEWARE!!"

"I bought 3 tickets for Cirque du Soleil through Groupon. Unfortunately, the event got canceled due to COVID-19, I tried to get my refund since the "Extraordinary Event Policy" clearly states "Cancelled Event. If an event is cancelled and not rescheduled, we will automatically refund the amount paid to the purchaser." Instead, I was refunded with Groupon Bulks which I haven't asked for. I told the customer service lady that I didn't want Bucks I just wanted my money back but she said "the policy says that contact us for the refund, the Refund is in the Groupon credit". Don't trust Groupon! They won't refund your money.
Also, if you are looking for a service, try calling the business, specially small business, ahead they might honor the deal on Groupon without the need of getting it. Groupon gets 50% of each sale!

"My husband and I purchased a spa package through Groupon. The date of our spa appointment fell within the stay-at-home order for the pandemic. My husband is currently only on part-time hours as opposed to the 50 he was working before this happened. I contacted Groupon asking for the refund of my $250 so I could buy groceries and formula for my family due to lack of income. I explained my situation and they could have cared less. They refunded me Groupon bucks. I went on to see if I could find some sort of grocery store or gift card for grocery store to purchase food and the only options on their website is junk food or wine. So I can feed my toddler junk food and tell my 6 month old tough luck because there's no formula on Groupon. I will not be using this website any longer. Waste of $250. Thanks for nothing Groupon."

This company and absolute and complete FRAUD! Don’t waste your time.
Their customer service is absolutely disgusting. Firstly I had one abruptly end the conversation with me while trying to get my refund because he no longer wanted to help me, I had to then start the process all over again. Second person was just as unhelpful. They repeat the same nonsense over and over and listen to nothing you might have to say!! Secondly I had to wait days for a respond only for them get this to address me by another name that’s is not even me and to tell me the exact same thing that I already said is not a option for me! All they do is offer you Groupon money voucher back and not your actual money back! Even after explaining to them that I am South African in which they do not have Groupon in SA..... they still continue to only offer me a useless option of Groupon money. They have no concern or care for their customers and they provide no such guarantee on the services that you purchase. Literally just a gamble with your money.
If a service is not provided one should have full right to their MONEY back and not Groupon keeping people’s money in return for Groupon Money! That is absolute Theft!"
