GIFT POLICY

"My friend bought me a gym groupon however I hurt my back and couldn't use it. I asked if I could trade in so I could get something I could enjoy and was told "no" because "it was a gift and they can't make changes to the account. "That is a silly policy. Simply wanted something I could actually use instead of letting money go to waste. "

FORCED ME TO CANCEL ORDER!

"Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had! I ordered a chain and the said had shipped (but never shipped by Groupon) after 10 business days I still never got a real tracking number! I spoke with 5 different agents and a supervisor and all they could say was "you can cancel your order if you cannot wait". It said in the fine print to contact if I do not receive my order within 7 business days which I did, also asking can you make sure it shipped from the vendor or warehouse and no one would EVER give me an answer. I think they realized they sold me a chain that was worth more and would not sent it! Horrible experience. Since that chain said "sold out" after I ordered it, I asked to send me a comparable chain instead... you think I heard back from them, NOPE! Terrible "

money gone....

"I used Groupon to rent a bike (3 persons). That costs me about 75 dollars. When I came at the adress on the voucher there was no company! I got a refund, but I cannot buy anything because I live in Europe!! So I lost 75 for nothing..."

"I purchased a groupon and it was redeemed by the company before it was used.
This happened to me twice, nobody was able to help me. Now I am out $100.00!!!!

Problem Solved

"I purchased a Groupon for flowers to be sent. I paid $20 but it wasn't deducted from the total cost including delivery and tax. I was offered a live chat and the agent ended up crediting my credit card the $20 that Groupon had charged. She was a pleasure!"

Scam-like tactics

"I was first made aware of having a Groupon account when I received an email from them stating that there had been suspicious purchasing activity made while using it.

After verifying the source of the email (which WAS sent from Groupon) I gained access to the account via the password reset utility and looked for a way to delete the account. I found directions in the FAQ, but it included instructions to click on a link that was nowhere to be found.

I submitted a help ticket which explained the issue, and the first reply to me explained that the warning message that I received was normal, that everything was ok with my account and that I should keep it and use it! It was only after I replied with a VERY direct request to delete the account that they actually followed through.

In summary: I do not know how Groupon's service actually is as I have never used it, but the entire setup appeared to me to be highly fraudulent. Given the experience I had, I would NEVER consider using the service and will strongly encourage anyone that I know to avoid them as well.

So far, so awesome!

"I've only made two purchases on Groupon. One for Merlot to Masterpiece, which was amazing. And one for a Himalayan Salt Rock lamp. The Salt Rock arrived with the extra bulb broken. Rather than make me send it back, they refunded me in full for the lamp, shipping and tax and let me keep the lamp. In my opinion that is GREAT customer service above and beyond what I expected. I bought replacement bulbs on another site (12 for $7) and my lamp is going strong. I'll definitely keep Groupon in mind for future purchases!"

DONT BOOK VACATION PACKAGE

"I purchased a vacation package for a great deal. The status of my Groupon deal was "pending", after reading that it will take about 2 hours for my trip to be available to be redeemed. After waiting the 2 hours I did a live chat. I was told no worries this happens all the time. It could take up to 6 hours but you would get a email confirmation shortly and can book. I got my email confirmation and attempted to book my flight online. When the website didn't accept my voucher code I called Vacation Express and while being on the phone the room had sold out while the representative was verfying my voucher code. I asked can u pay the difference for a upgraded room that was available he said no contact groupon. I contacted groupon by phone. No luck. I was told I cannot pay the difference and i have to was 72 business hours to get my money back but Im more than able to purchase another groupon getaway if i would like. The manager I was transferred to said the same thing. After contacting my bank and being on a 3 way call the supervisor offered me a $20 off coupon for Groupon. What's $20 compared to $1,400? I offered to call Vacation Express so that they can verify the voucher wasn't redeemed so i can get my refund faster. The supervisor said no. While all this is happening i happened to check Expedia and the deal I've been watching dropped to a lower price than this groupon deal. I dont recommend anyone purchase a vacation package through groupon. I suggest Expedia, I never EVER had a issue getting a refund or price adjustment with them. "

"I have had nothing but the best customer service with Groupon! In each case, I do believe it was something I may have done incorrectly when entering a promo code. However, every live chat has fixed my problem immediately :) All companies should be so easy and willing to create the best customer experience! Thank you, Groupon Customer Service Reps!"
