"I don't know what to say... I've never seen anything like this... Delivery failure after delivery failure... repeatedly.... for weeks... second year in a row, now... with absolutely no attempts to contact me about the repeated failed deliveries before I'm left high and dry... and could've otherwise made other arrangements had they at least, in any of the several instances, given me the basic professional courtesy to let me know what happened... and without my having to discover it days later, well after it was too late for me to make other arrangements.
My business relationships have suffered for the misrepresentation of my efforts to express gratitude through Harry & David's touted services... repeatedly.
I had been a customer of Harry & David's for over 15 years. I was exceedingly happy with the services they provided for about 13 of those years. I just... don't... know... what... has happened to now have rendered this company such a complete train-wreck on every level of service imaginable. I'm truly stunned to see this degree of turn-around on what used to be such a truly delightful service, as it has now become a place that provides customers an unparalleled experience of unending, exquisitely frustrating anguish, as if they were a factory whose only product is utterly profound dissatisfaction.

"I ordered a gift basket for my daughter for New Years on Dec. 27th and was assured of an approx. delivery of Jan. 4th. I waited to order this as my daughter was out of town for Christmas. The order was authorized by my bank and monies withdrawn however Harry & David have "no order". PayPal stated order was also authorized. I have called daily to find out what's going on and customer service has 'no idea' differing reasons depending who I spike with. I received a error msg. when I tried to reorder that the item couldn't be shipped to Ca.?!!! then was told that the msg. was because the item was out of stock?!!!! I then was told they would hold a new order for me but when I called to reorder via phone they couldn't find an order??!!!!! I asked to speak with a supervisor and on 2 occasions things just got worse. Now I was told the item was no longer available, no recorder of my original order and this male supervisor was rude and took '0' responsibility for the issues. I then asked if I reorder could do get some discount for my trouble after numerous calls and long waits on phone without any resolution. I was told "sorry no we can't". The worst customer service ever and my monies still not released and no agreement among customer service as to what was the problem!!!!!!"
"I placed an order for a Christmas gift basket on 12/22. It was supposed to arrive on or before 12/29.
As of 12/30, the order still hadn't been delivered and I still hadn't received any kind of update from Harry and David via e-mail or phone call so I decided to call customer service. When I called customer service I was told the gift basket I selected was not available and they could find a replacement item to send. 8 days after the initial order was placed and 1 day after the guaranteed delivery date and no one contacted me to let me know there was any kind of issue. The initial person I spoke to selected a replacement gift tower instead of a replacement wooden basket item like the one I had ordered.
The items in the tower were not comparable to what I had ordered. I asked to speak to a manager who offered to call the recipients to personally apologize. She also refunded my shipping cost of $16 (on a $100 order).
She ended the call by trying to sell me a discount pumpkin cheesecake and I was just baffled by how bizarre this entire experience was. I will never order from here again."
"I ordered 2 boxes of pears one for me and one as a gift for Christmas they arrived all spotted and spoiled. We had to through them in the garbage. Never more!!! Not only they lost me as a customer but also the one that received the gift. He could not believe how bad they were. I wish to be able to enclude a picture they are disgusting looking pears. Waist of money."
"Harry & David used to be the gift pear cream of the crop. Over the years, they have really declined. The company messed up 6 Christmas orders of mine a few years back and never got my business again. I received a gift box of pears this year and was thrilled - until I opened the box. After all, my sister paid a fortune for what should have been a few huge, luscious pears. NOT! The pears were smaller than I remembered - 12 in this box, that were badly bruised, and a couple even had mold on them. I called the company and received a replacement which was almost as poor quality as the first box. The second box had larger, fewer pears but they were also badly bruised and misshapen. I did a little internet research and learned learned about pear "seconds" which are just as delicious but not as pretty and therefore not first quality. That must have been what I received. They looked nothing like the pictures on the H&D website. Buyers should think twice before spending their hard earned money on any fruit from Harry & David. H&D are probably turning over in the graves over the expensive garbage that is shipped all over this country under their names."
"On 12/2, I ordered a package to be delivered on 12/22. 12/22 comes and goes - no package. I call customer service and spend 20 minutes on hold to be told “the label is being printed right now” and “the package should arrive tomorrow.”
12/23 arrives - no package. After several calls to customer service, each involving 20+ minutes on hold, I’m told the same thing - the label is being printed. No one even attempts to address why the label is still being printed on 12/23 for a package that was supposed to be delivered on 12/22.
I finally connected with them via Facebook Messenger. It takes them anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to reply, but at least I’m not tied to a phone listening to insipid hold music while I’m waiting. Eventually, they give me a tracking number, but all the FedEx site will say is that the label is (still!) being created. After much back and forth (during which they offer to refund the shipping cost), they essentially punt and tell me to call FedEx.
30 minutes on hold later, and FedEx tells me that Harry & David hasn’t given them the package yet.
The only good thing about this experience is that H&D didn’t try to argue with me when I canceled the order. Now I have to to out to a mall in 12/24 and try to find some other gift for the guy who was supposed to be getting a nice H&D package.
That was my first order with them. And my last. If you decide to order from them, good luck!"
"At one time I was a Foreman for Harry & David and was very happy working for them. (Many years have passed since then.) Today I searched on line on their site to purchase 2 inexpensive gifts for my 2 older Son's. Settled on a cookie gift box that originally sold for close to $30 each but was on sale for $17.99 each so I started to order 2. That should have come to about $35.98 for both but when I went to check out and pay, the shipping charge was added on and the price had jumped up to $80, "whoa", something is wrong with someones arithmetic. Needless to say I cancelled my order and will never attempt to do business with them again. One of my boys lives less than 5 miles from the main company and the 2nd boy about 10 miles. "
"Ordered a gift basket for my office on 12-12 through a T-Mobile promotional code. It was stated, and still shows, Delivery Before Or On Dec 22nd. Checked today, 12-20 and still no tracking number.. Call customer service and they tell me "it was shipped yesterday but I dont have a tracking number for you. It will make it there within our delivery window on or before the 24th".. Ummmm, they WHY does my order say on or before the 22nd? The orders for an office, they aren't there on Saturday!! So now it's most likely going to show up AFTER Xmas when I ordered WAY before Xmas on the 12th! Just AWFUL!! Will spread the word on how bad they are with shipping, updates, and their customers!"

"So I purchased holiday gifts on 12/11, Harry and David withdrew funds from my bank on 12/12. I checked my bank and 1 day later this amount was still pending even though my bank statement shows that H & D already withdrew the amount. I checked on 12/14 and this pending charge is still there. I called customer service 3 times was on hold for over 50 minutes so I tried their so call online chat window to see if I could talk to someone about this charge. Their rep first told me that this 2nd amount is a "pre-authorization" once the funds clear they'll remove it. I made it clear that H&D already has my money why is there a "pre-authorization" for funds already released to their company. She then said well it's your bank who's holding the funds up and they need to release it. Oddly enough if the funds weren't with them why then did they ship 1 of my 2 baskets out? That would mean that you already have my money.
I called my bank and they verified that they had already released funds on 12/12 to H&D and this pending charge is technically a second charge. So I tried calling their customer service department for a 3rd time and decided to dial #1 (place order line) to see if anyone would pick up. Low and behold that took 5 minutes and when I told the rep why I was calling he says "well someone is using your card using H&D's name" SERIOUSLY!!!! I demanded to speak with customer service and he transfers me to the same line that I was on twice before for over 40 minutes. This was my first and last time patronizing this company and their affiliates. Shop somewhere else. "
"There was an error in my order, so I called customer service. I put the phone on speaker and carried it with me for TWO HOURS while I did my housework. I thought I might be stuck in a bum queue, so I hung up and tried again, and have been on for 48 minutes so far. I also emailed, about three hours ago, and have not heard back. This is the holidays, any primarily seasonal business like this has to plan on ample human resources for this type of business. Their products are amazing, but their customer service, not so much. Disappointed."
"This review isn't about the product, it's about service, which is AWFUL. I placed a corporate order and ended up for over 10 hrs on the phone with multiple customer service reps. The issue was simple, the greeting message too long, so I tried to update it. Every time I spoke with the rep, they would advise that it has been fixed, I would receive the confirmation email, which would show only few updated messages. Others, would have message cut of in the middle, or just partially updated. It was a complete nightmare trying to resolve this. There are plenty other companies, that take care of their customers, this was the most frustrating and time wasting experience. I am shocked."

OH nonononono lol Go to check out and none of the promotional codes work so that 20 dollar bottle of wine is now 50 dollars lol. Talk to an agent they say promotional codes don't apply to wine. She says try to order the wine separate. I say ok , click on wine , find out you can not order a single bottle of wine lol I end up clicking on the wine "duo" which is 2 bottles of wine for 29. Ok fine add that to the cart ... The promotional code for free shipping on the gift basket now works... However the 29 dollar wine duo has a shipping charge of 36.98 LOLOLOLOLOLOL I give up with the chat rep after complaining about the ludicrous website ordering and decide to actually call them to complain.. The same girl answers lol poor girl. I say you must go through this all night long and she dejectedly says yes lots of complaints. How can a company expect to do business by using a website that confuses , bamboozles, and infuriates the customer LOL I ask if there is anyone else who handles these matters and she says no but the calls are recorded LOL Hey Harry or Dave..... Fire your web designer immediately and stop trying to sell 10 dollar bottles of wine for 50 bucks it's insulting. After 45 minutes on that train wreck of a website the rep did offer me a one time half off shipping discount LOLOLOLOL I told her I would not take this stuff if they gave it to me for free .
