"Thankfully the reseller did finally respond, and is offering a refund for the difference in the cost for my troubles. We are happy now."
"Do NOT believe the positive reviews as I can almost guarantee that the company itself is posting them to counterbalance all the TRULY negative comments actual customers are posting. How they dare to give themselves 5 stars is disgusting. This has been THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
Bottom line, HomeEverything.com has horrible business practices, makes false promises, and is deceiving to their customers. I have never been so frustrated making a purchase, and communicating with a company."
"I ordered a microwave from this company on Jan. 20. It was damaged. However the packaging wasn't...suspicious. We sent it back. The company said they would send a replacement. After waiting weeks and weeks, I emailed them asking for a refund. The company ignored that request and sent me a replacement microwave on March 5. This one was missing a screw on top, so we didn't even unpack it fully. I emailed and called, asking for a shipping label so I could return it. So far, there has been no response. Also, when you call, you have to remain on hold for an eternity before you talk to a person, who says he will take care of the problem, then doesn't. I agree with reviewers who say this is a scam company! "
"Ordered a rack for my Bosch dryer on here since they were the lowest cost and had a decent rating on here (ResellerRatings).
Ordered on the 19th of March, product shipped on the 25th of March, and got here on the 31st of March. Not terrible for free shipping, but the problem is my order status never updated in my account page on their site.
The product came in perfect shape, came shipped via UPS and required a signature, and got here in about average time, so all things considered, pretty good. But no updates on the shipment status was kind of annoying."
"I placed the order by phone so I could specifically ask about availability of the three appliances I was ordering. This was a Monday, 3/1/10.
Was told one item (oven) was back-ordered but more were arriving in three days and I would get one of those. They would wait until Friday to ship, so that the oven would come with the D/W & cooktop I also wanted. I explained the importance of the item's availability, as we had to have everything installed by the end of the month for renters, and we were also leaving the country at the end of the month. The Salesman assured me that there would be absolutely no problem and the items would all ship, together, by the end of the week. So I ordered. Stoooooopid!
Of course, not having heard from them on Friday, I called them Monday morning, to be told the ovens DID arrive, but were previously promised to other customers so I didn't get one. But of course, there were more coming in soon, and he promised he absolutely guaranteed I would get one of them. I stooooopidly believed him again.
They agreed to go ahead and ship the D/W and cooktop right away, and the oven would follow when they came in on the next truck.
Of course, they HAD TO go ahead and charge me for the oven, even though it had not been received. If I didn't want to pay for it in advance, they said they'd have to cancel the oven order and reorder it, and I'd go to the back of the queue and have to wait even longer. So I went along with it.
I've received the cooktop & D/W, no problem -- but now it's 3/26 (Friday) and still no oven. I've called them at least three times in the last two weeks, and each time am told that the ovens are arriving in "a couple of days" and will be shipping right away.
So -- they have my money, I have no oven, and I get nothing but lies. If I cancel now, I'm really scr**ed and have to go out and buy an oven locally and get it installed in the next few days.
If they would just have been honest instead of LYING to me since the beginning, I would have been much happier with them, perhaps ordering a different oven. Why don't people understand that LYING TO CUSTOMERS is NEVER the best policy? It breeds contempt and unhappiness.
My warning -- check before ordering to see if it's back-ordered, and if it is, run like heck! Do NOT believe their promises. If you call them on it and read to them what they told you on the last phone call (keep notes!), they'll just blame anyone else, like the manufacturer, the shippers, someone in the office, etc. No accountability, just lies so they can charge your credit card without delivering the goods. Beware!"
"Yes, they have a good price and selection. That is what got me suckered in. I place my order for 3 appliances in January. It is now nearly April and I'm still waiting...and yes, guess what, my credit card was billed a couple months ago even though nothing was shipped. Each time you try to call you have to wait on hold for about a half hour. The reps always said it was being shipped in the next couple days yet of course it never was. I'm writing this while I am on hold waiting to find out when my washing machine will be delivered. This is a horrible experience.

"Home Everything (HE) conducts unethical business practices. Some of their practices seem to be proper and result in happy and satisfied customers based on other comments. But my story involves exchanging a small fortune for a worthless piece of paper called an order confirmation. I searched around, just like you, if you’re reading this, and consciously weighed the goods and bads. HE had the best price that saved me about 4% from the next competitor. I wasn’t in any hurry to get the merchandise so I decided to take a gamble based on some of the good things that were written yet try to protect myself a little by using PayPal based on some of the negative comments. Here’s my story.
I placed the order 1 Feb. I got the usual email and tracking number just like everyone else. I checked the UPS website each Friday for an update – my package required an Adult Signature, of course. Two weeks passed and I called UPS about the tracking information not updating because I was sure that my appliance was enroute. The nice girl explained to me that the number I had was just a ‘placeholder’ and would be activated when UPS actually takes custody of the package for delivery. She said that was normal procedure. I mentioned that 2 weeks had gone by since the tracking number was issued. She gave a concerned ‘Hmmmmm’ and suggested that I contact the seller.
‘Newman!’ I thought to myself, I just became one of the poor people that have bad experiences with ‘these’ vendors as identified on ‘these’ sites. Lets experiment a little and pray that PayPal upholds its policy for the good guy (that’s me, and you, the consumer).
Now we shift gears to a waiting game of a different sort. I now knew how things would play out based on the reviews I had read before. If I called, they would scroll right down the excuse matrix to stave me off a while. Maybe they would eventually get around to sending something. Or they might just berate me like that had done with a few other people that had reported just this happening to them. I decided not to call. Its not my job as a consumer to micromanage a business in such a way to have a successful sale. If their business model is broken, I get nothing (except maybe my appliance; but in what condition?) in return if I nurse it along and they succeed, if only for a short while. 30 days tick by. I didn’t call. HE didn’t call. In 30 days they couldn’t even send an automated ‘form letter’ email that stated they were sorry for the delay or make me an offer. Complete silence.
Excellent customer service is a primary pillar of a successful business model. HE had not (still has not) displayed any level of acceptable customer service after the point of sale. Im not just talking about bad customer service, which is at least some kind of service – that is poor. Home Everything’s customer service after the point of sale for me was nonexistent. Consumers are a valuable part of the business model. You have to fully understand where they fit in the big picture. Its not the consumers responsibility to sustain your business for you by being the ‘squeaky wheel’ to get their order through. If that is the model you wish to use, then it will fail. It may take a while; until the customers realize how you function and choose not to deal with you. I believe that IS the model for HE and I will not support it. Caveat Vendor. I will not support your unethical business practices. They exhibit the will to fail. Only the customers are permitting them to succeed. 37 days after placing my order: I have just won a judgment against this company from PayPal based on non-delivery/misrepresentation of goods."
"Purchased a Samsung "over the range" microwave oven that was on back-order, most likely because it was recently rated the higest in Consumer Report; acceptable since it was noted on their web-site. Finally got delivered yesterday and their contractor came out to install it today; extremely happy with our purchase, their reasonable price (free shipping/no sales tax) and the excellent service received from their installation contractor!"
"Purchased a Bosch range from this merchant. Price was good. The stove was delivered 12 days after I placed the order. Delivery by UPS was without problems. I would order from then again because of the good price, good selection and the convenience. "
"BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
I spent $3,000 with this company and all they do is LIE about SHIPPING DATES, ITEMS IN STOCK, and IF THEY HAVE BEEN SHIPPED.
The other reviewers are right when you check tracking that you HAVE TO REQUEST, it just states no data found?
I have records of several EMAILS and PHONE CALLS to customer service only to be left on hold for over 20 minutes.
I was told my one appliance was in stock and would be shipped asap on 2/11/10.
Guess what, it's 2/24/10, and the item is in Indiana still? Why is it in Indiana if the homeeveything.com is in NY.
I STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY OF MY APPLIANCES.
I will file complaints with BBB and all the ratings companies.
*****DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!"
"THIS COMPANY IS AWFUL- DO NOT BUY!
We received a defective appliance from Home Everything. Instead of apologizing, their customer service was extremely rude to us and informed us that they would not give us a refund, or even an exchange. Not only did they sell us a broken appliance, they refused to give us our money back. These people are scam artists - do not buy from them! (As an aside, their “free shipping” took almost a month to deliver!)
"
"Fired off three emails to HomeEverything's sales department via their web site and got no replies to any of them. /shrug It's just too easy to go elsewhere."
"Very good website, related information provided: clear product images, accurate product information."
"As with preceding reviewer I found homeeverything.com a very fine company to business with. very helpful in the final selection with regard to performance, value and quality. All questions thoroughly answered. HE's consultative approach made me feel relaxed and capable. "
"Placed order for Jenn-air 30" Electric Downdraft cook top. Of course they had the best price with decent reviews but what they don't tell you is it's back ordered. It doesn't state this anywhere leading up to the order but I was lucky enough to actually get it canceled and even then that was a horrible experience.
Not worth your time or money. Spend a few dollars more and get it locally or from a mom and pop shop who actually care. "
