"Tried to order a washer dryer for my mom who lives is a small rural town. On the web sight if you put the right zip code it says out of stock. After speaking with three associates the supervisor was successful in placing the order but you must use a zip code for the closest big box store. All was well until 8:30 that evening I received an email that they canceled my order. At the bottom was a number to call after another two hours on the phone with no explanation to why it was cancelled. Once again explaining how to place the order success. I ask all communication come through me but I had to give them my moms phone number she received auto message that she could not understand about delivery. I told her not to worry I would take care of it. Yet again a phone call to deliver explains the situation only to be told delivery had a completely wrong address. Asking why and were did they get that Radom address no explanation. Good thing I called. It’s mind boggling they had the wrong delivery address when all my paperwork was correct. Speaking to another supervisor she informed me they can’t Change the delivery address I just need to cancel the order and start over. I lost it. Calling the manager at the big box store she stopped the delivery and had it brought it to the store. Telling joy from corporate that I had thing handled. The store manager said she would call me right back this being Friday evening. I waited no call Monday morning on the phone again trying to set delivery. Two more hours on the phone. With deliver set I really wanted to speak with someone in corporate about this major mess. You can’t email and upset customer is not an option. Yet again on the phone I went to place a new order and got a live person. He connected me to the right person. Another hour on the phone she was really sympathetic and heard me out. They did make me feel better with a gift card that will cover delivery. That being said everyone I spoke to was extremely nice and tried to help. Home Depot needs to step up their game if they want people to use online ordering. I shop Home Depot a lot I gave them my business out of loyalty but in hind sight I should have ordered somewhere else and had the item dropped ship to my moms. I live 12 hours from my 93 year old mother with cancer I didn’t need this frustration ! "
"On 6/4/19 I went to The Home Depot in Harrison, OH to look for accessories for vinyl lattice fencing. After wondering around by myself looking for materials I saw 2 employees who were just standing there talking. I walked up and nicely asked if one of them could help me. I asked them if they were familiar with vinyl lattice fencing and the woman stared at me with an annoyed look and rudely said “what about it?”. I then repeated myself and said “are you familiar with it?” She then says “yes”. I went on the explain that I have a few panels already but needed some accessories such as trim pieces and she says “what do you mean?”. So she isn’t familiar with it after getting rude with me. The male employee seemed to know what I needed and said “isle 27”. I was hoping one of them could walk with me and show me what I needed but they seemed more annoyed that I asked them to do their job. So I walk off frustrated looking for isle 27 and after I realized I had passed it I turned around and saw the man standing at the end of the isle pointing saying “down there on the left”. I walk down the isle and all I see is baseboard trim. At that point I was so aggravated that I just turned around and left. Home Depot strives for great customer service and my experience was far from it. I’ll be taking my business else where from now on. "
"Yesterday I walked into The Home Depot, hoping that someone there would have a bit of knowledge about the plants and flowers available (versus a cheaper competitor). The Garden Center outdoor help/cashier plainly told me that she doesn't know anything about gardening or even which products were available.
Being on the opposite end of a plant/gardening aficionado myself, I had already walked amongst the racks of options in search of some mosquito-repellant potted plants and flowers, only to discover the search trying. The woman on the floor made no effort to help, other than to, at a loss, direct me indoors. No doubt she could see me instantly turn disagreeable.
I wandered back through the aisles, hoping something would jump out at me to no avail. When I walked past her she asked if I had found anything and I simply said "no" and continued walking toward the back of the garden area. She calls after me then and shows me on her phone that she looked up a certain item and it shows they don't have it in the store. By this time, it didn't matter. I had wasted my precious morning wandering around to no satisfaction. Had she begun by helping me, perhaps it would not have been such a miserable experience.
It doesn't stop there, however. Indoors, 3 or 4 people are standing around with one of them climbing up a stock ladder and one of them dragging some metal shelf full of products across the concrete floor. The commotion and noise combined were like nails on a chalkboard. All I wanted was to peruse the 3 rows of plants they had displayed, but no one so much as budged to move out of my way as I tried to maneuver the cart in between and around the gossiping group.
I finally make my way to the pot/planter aisle, where 3 employees are arguing about the importance of which of their jobs needs to get completed first. I ignore them and continue browsing the pots, careful not to back into the random grill parked behind me when all of the sudden I catch it moving out of the corner of my eye and see one of the Arguers lugging it sort of toward me as he maneuvered it into a position in which he could push it out of the aisle.
He caught my eye as I guardedly eyed the grill, ensuring he didn't accidentally run into me, and he kindly asked if I was finding everything okay. Although I had a lot or responses on the tip of my tongue, I simply said, "yes."
The store is fortunate that I purchased anything at all.
Other Home Depot stores have also been just as inconsiderate and unhelpful. I will not be shopping any Home Depot again."
"I went to the Home Depot in Hadley, MA to buy a closer kit for my Anderson storm door. When I chased someone down, I was informed that Mark was the one who could help me. His colleague tracked Mark down and convinced him to meet with me before he took his break. Mark said I needed to know certain information that was located on my door. I told him that I would call my contractor and get the information for him but he said no that I need to call Anderson myself. I said that was unhelpful and his response was “well, I am too busy”. I walked away rather than speak my mind. Later I found that the little information he did give me was wrong. I didn’t need to know what he claimed would be on the door. Furthermore, there was no information on the door. I can’t recall having a more frustrating experience at a store. This is why stores are failing and people shop on line which is what I will do rather than go to Home Depot. "
"I ordered some cement blocks from Home Depot, and the best they could do for a delivery window is 14 hours; sometime between 6am and 8pm !!!! However, if I was willing to pay more money, they could be more specific and narrow the window. That's just wrong."
"I went to the Home Depot in Westbury NY today and I saw a man who repeatedly beat his wife and is on 3 year probation working there... do they do background checks that man is violent and helping customers? I’m not shopping there again. Loews is down the block..."
"I bought a $3000 dollar fridge from home depot in stratford ct. The sales woman was incredible with her knowledge and giving us enough time to make the decision with no pressure. I bought the fridge on may 6th and on may 15th i noticed it was on sale. Home depot does an adj price with in 30 days. Wednesday i walked in to speak with the customer service desk. The woman behind the desk told me, "she absolutely could not help me i had to come back tomorrow". I asked to speak to a manager they told me, "all managers are busy". So I left!!!!! Thursday walked in to revisit the customer service desk. And again I got, they absolutely could not help me and to go back and talk to the appliance department. The wonderful sales associate tried to help me with contacting a manager in the building. And guess what......they were all to busy to help. Maria the sales associate made a note in my account and told me to call friday and talk to Mirlande. Friday I called Mirlande. I informed her what has happened and she said she could not adj the price. I asked to speak to a manager she put me on hold. When returning back to the phone she said there's only a fill in manager right now who can not help me. I should try back tomorrow.
I called home office customer service line and the got in touch with Anthony from Stratford ct home depot the same day. And you'll never believe it but he was able not only to get on the phone to speak to me but he was perfectly capable to adj the price!!!!
I will never buy another thing from Home Depot! The customer service desk and every manager made that decision for me!

"I've never been met with a worse customer experience than what I had to go through to get my washer/dryer. Keep in mind, at the time of this review, I haven't even received my washer/dryer from Home Depot yet, and I put in the order more than 10 days ago.
While the ordering process at the Home Depot store was not bad, promising me an economical way to haul away my old units and reinstall some new hardware. However, this delivery company or team doing my deliveries has the honor of giving me the worst customer experience I have ever had, and is way more trouble than it's worth. Had I known how bad they were, I would never in a chance in hell go with them.
First, when they came almost a week after I put in my order (not complaining about the time, I understand these things take time to come in), the workers that came refused to take my washer/dryer. Granted my washer was taken apart because I had tried to fix it myself, and the dryer was still connected to the gas.
Mind you, the workers that came hardly spoke any English, so they could not communicate this to my wife. They were even telling my pregnant wife to try to disconnect the gas line by herself. She tried shimmying her way in that cramped and dirty space, but for obvious reasons couldn't do it. This continued when they called their manager and the manager spoke to my wife, the manager was clear, but perhaps a bit too clear because her tone was rude and irritable. Well, after they made it clear to my wife that it could not be done, my wife called me (I was at work at the time) to explain the situation. I agreed reluctantly to return (I only live 5 minutes from where I work) to sort out the situation. I had to take time off work.
But before I could return and without warning, the workers LEFT; I was hoping I could talk and sort out the situation with them, but it seems like they were completely unwilling. They didn't warn my wife, didn't make another appointment. NOTHING. They just ghosted us. It was on us to reschedule... WTF?!
Livid as we were when I returned, my wife and I collected ourselves and called Home Depot. The person on the line was actually courteous and understanding and we were able reschedule. BUT considering everything we went through, we couldn't get it rescheduled until the Tuesday after (the day was Friday). Disappointing, but I guess we could bite the bullet.
Fast forward to Tuesday, and I had spent the night before reassembling the washer and making absolutely sure everything was set up easily for the team to haul the old washer/dryer. So, the team came way earlier than their time slot (unexpected but not too bad), and hauled away the old units. Great. Chances are they were the same dudes that gave my wife a hard time, and ghosted me, but whatever, I can overlook it if they just get the work done.
But when they were finished hauling the old units away, they were signalling to me that they were done here. I was like: "wait a minute, where's my new washer and dryer??" The man just replied: "the delivery will be later, if you have any questions, please contact Home Depot." "ok..." I hesitantly responded. I thought to myself: "ok, they're here to pick up the old units ahead of the time, so I'm guessing the time slot they gave me earlier was for delivering my units."
This made all the more sense when I checked their site, and it read: "Units are ready to be delivered." But that wasn't the case. And as I'm irritably typing this review right now, it's right after the time slot and after a disappointing phone call with Home Depot.
So if it's not clear, the units NEVER came. When I called Home Depot to ask where they were, the customer service person went to investigate what happened. She returned with some unbelievable news: "When the appointment was rescheduled, only the haul away was rescheduled, but not the delivery." Needless to say, I was utterly floored at how incompetent these people were. I didn't pay $1800 to just have my old units taken away, wouldn't you think I would want what I actually paid for too???
NOO obviously I paid all this money to have people tell me they can't move the old units out, tell my pregnant wife to endanger herself and our child, have their manager be utterly rude to her on the phone, to have me reschedule, but when it is rescheduled they only do half of the job, while telling me that I didn't reschedule the other half. SERIOUSLY. YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP.
So what are some key takeaways from this review?
Don't go with Home Depot appliances, unless you like paying money to be treated like trash.

"I ordered a 260$ Generator nearly a month ago and they took the money on my bank account and ever gave it to me they never communicated to me either. Just want to the tracking information in it said delivery may be delayed . This company is breaking the law I will probably report them to the FTC "
"Bought a microwave. After 4 days, no shipping confirmation. Then the fun begins. 3+ hours on the phone with Idiots trying to get an update. 2 calls just to cancel the order which hadn’t shipped, but still needed to dispute the charge with my card company.
So sad that such a big American company turns out to be such a disappointment and disgrace. "
"We have been long time customers and have had a Home Depot credit card for years. Recently visiting in Kentucky and decided to buy our mother a new washing machine. Lowes and Home Depot had same washer on sales and only $1 different in price. Went to Home Depot to buy. Told them left a 10% off coupon in Michigan. Asked if they could give us this or 10% off as veteran. Had them go all the way to store manager. They said no discounts. Told them we would then have to buy at Lowes and use their 10% veterans discount. They said fine. Not very nice. Obviously Home Depot does not need sales. Just wait till the economy dips again. We are swiching away from Home Depot. Bad lose as we have been great customers. The Williams family in Muskegon, Michigan.
"
"Long story, but a refund was due...they bounced the check and now 6 months later, ignoring the documents I sent proving the check was unpaid. I call every two weeks, and they say, my agent, will call me back. Nope. Unbelievable. I now shop at Lowes. My new house needs improvement...going to Lowes."
"Home Depot needs to be educated and rewrite their instructions. I purchased a Whirlpool Stainless Steel Refrigerator online. I called to confirm to make sure everything was set in place. I was told by both Home Depot and Whirlpool companies that I had to opt for installation during checkout in order for the delivery team to uncrate, set in place, level and connect your appliance. They'll also test it for functionality and inspect it for damages.
Well, this put me in a panic mode. There was NO place to check this option during checkout. I wasted an entire day speaking to numerous people in customer service to add the installation to my order! I thought it was a given to uncrate. Who expects a person to uncrate and set-up a refrigerator? But Home Depot and Whirlpool INSISTED if I didn't check the box when I ordered it online then the delivery men will leave it crated in my home.
By the way, it doesn't even come crated. It comes with only a boxed top, styrofoam on the sides and plastic. And the delivery team uncrated it and set it up despite the ignorance of Home Depot and Whirlpool. I give 2 stars to them since although they were ignorant they were nice, nice ignorant support that wasted my day."
"Good help is hard to find but at this home depot i always find great help. Pablo in electrical was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what i needed. I will definitely be coming back."
"I have been a loyal customer for years. That all changed today. I bought the last 50ft of chain out of the 100ft box. Turns out I didnt need it. I went to the taylor store on telegraph I was in line and before I can even make it to the register I hear a sarcastic voice saying if that chain is cut we dont take it back. I ignored it and proceeded to the register and was met by the sarcastic voice manager Karie. She should not be in customer service at all. I tried explaining I didnt have it cut it was the last 50ft in the box she could care less. She said take it up with the store who sold it to you. I called corporate and explained situation they were friendly but unwilling to help me are you serious a $70 chain I spend thousands upon thousands of dollars there. Well you know what home depot you can kiss that good bye maybe if your manager would have approached it in a different way like maybe saying sorry for any inconvenience but if it was cut we cant accept it instead she was very rude unprofessional to say the least. Shame on you home depot your manager cost you thousands I will be taking to social media and canceling my credit line and start going to Lowes and menards. I dont mind taking th $70 loss but all you have to do is pull the tape from that store and see hear hand gestures towards me. Just a thought. But obviously no one there cares."
