"DO NOT TRUST HOME DEPOT OR THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY LIE! I ordered a new fridge and when it was delivered, there was a big dent in the front panel. So they told me to call customer service and they would take care of it. After calling they told me i'd have to wait 2 weeks and they would get me a new one. After I checked out the fridge further. I realized that it had damaged my laminate flooring while installing it. Taking out a inch size chunk where the wheel goes for the fridge. On top of that, they also Damage the driveway. I reported this when I called customer service and was told that it would take two weeks to get the new fridge in and that I would be getting a call about the damage that was done. I called multiple times and they always said someone would call me and no one ever called. Then 2 weeks comes and they deliver the NEW fridge and the outside looked Great, I was happy. When I looked inside the manual and papers were taped to the side of the fridge. I didn't think anything of it. Once the installors had left. I grabbed the manual to read it, realizing that there was a big scratch that had been HIDDEN behind the manuals. At that point I was so frustrated with the process. I figured the blemish wasn't on the outside, I'll just live with it. Then during the night there was this horrendous noise that started and lasted between 15 and 30 seconds. I didn't know what it was at first it took me a couple days of this happening maybe once a day when I was home and finally I figured it out. It was the NEW fridge, the noise is coming from the side of the fridge that was damaged that was supposed to be NEW the fridge they gave me was not new. How do you damage a new fridge on the inside? DO NOT TRUST HOME DEPOT OR THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY LIE!"
"I live very close to a physical Home Depot so I went online to see if they had the light bulbs I was looking for, which they of course did. I was ready to go out and purchase them but lo and behold, they offered a free shipping option. You telling me I don’t have to get into my car, drive out there, find parking, walk through the parking lot, go through the aisles, wait in line to pay and make the journey back to my house, and instead have it simply dropped off right at my doorstep…for FREE? You bet I’m taking advantage of that. Of course I couldn’t get my light bulbs right away but it wasn’t an emergency and delivery was in 2 days, which was acceptable for me. The checkout process was straightforward and there was regular email communication as to status of my order and shipping, down to when it was delivered. I feel that’s how all orders should be handled. "
"On or about 10/11/23, I ordered a Cub Cade from Home Depot. After receiving the item and putting together some parts, I gave the mower a try. I found out that the belt was not turning the blades. I am 67, so I cannot physically put the belt back on. This should have been attached already. I returned the mower on 10/22/23. When I received no notice about the refund, and no refund, I called Home Depot to inquire. I was told by a "Pedro" that the refund had been processed and that I should get it by 10/27/23, because it takes 5 business days. I checked my bank account on 10/29/23, and still no refund. I used their text messaging to check on refund. I was told that the refund HAD NEVER BEEN PROCESSED. They are holding in excess of $2,500 of MY FUNDS!!! Do not trust Home Depot to refund your money when they SAY it will be refunded. KEEP HOUNDING THEM UNTIL THEY DO. I will be doing more of my shopping at LOWES from now on. I am a contractor and I loved HD's PO process for contractors, but I still want and need my funds for other projects. They have much bigger pockets than me, and holding my funds this long is just wrong. They finally refunded the funds on 10/29/23, to my Paypal account. BUT I STILL DO NOT HAVE ACCESS AS OF THIS WRITING!!!!!!"
"I bought a new stove from home depot and the door handle fell off. It was obviously broken and glued back together. Home depot ILLEGALLY sold me a used or repaired stove as new. Calling customer service was a continuous run-around and hang ups. I have spent more than $45,000 at home depot over the past 24 years and I will not give them another penny"
"My mother bought 6 appliances from homedepot.com. One came damaged. When we called to get it replaced we asked for another model instead, happy to pay any difference. The supervisor Michael from homedepot.com was very rude and not apologetic at all. They labeled this a "buyers remorse" and wouldn't take it back without a 15% restocking fee. They were very rude on the phone and not at all apologetic. They said the local store would pick up for free. When we called the store they also were very rude and said no they won't and to rent a truck and return it ourselves. Please check all new appliances very carefully and report within 48 hours. You expect that since you're buying new they would be in good condition but it is not the case a lot of the time. "
"We ordered Appliances from there. Was given a delivery date. 1 day before delivery received a notice that it will be delivered 6 weeks later. When I went to the store to inquire, the delivery canceled it because the range was not in yet. So they canceled the whole delivery. Later the next day we found out that Samsung just canceled our range completely. No notice, and no refund. After communicating with the store employees ( who were extremely helpful ) a refund was issued. I am in Home Depot almost every day and purchase a lot of supplies. I know most of the employees personally. Sadly, I will no longer recommend the store for big purchases."
"Home Depot sent 3 guys to deliver a washer. Got it here and it didn't fit and as we worked through the problem one guy got on his phone and started talking **** about me in Spanish. When I got mad, he started filming. I will never allow these people anywhere near my home again. Just don't want this crap near me or my family."
"I ordered a patio set that arrived two weeks later missing the table (which per the reviews is a common problem that doesn’t ever get resolved). I contacted customer service right away and was told that someone from the “resolution team” would be in touch. I waited 5 days and heard nothing and contacted them again. I spent over an hour with the representative who eventually told me to re-order the items and pay for them again, and that I would then be reimbursed when I returned the first order. Not a good resolution as it would leave me out of pocket for hundreds of dollars while I waited to be reimbursed even though Home Depot was at fault. Other companies I have dealt with in similar situations would send the replacement and not charge me as long as I returned the original items, or contact the factory to send just the missing item. For such a well-known company, their customer service is appalling."
"I ordered a lawn mower and they shipped it in 3 days!"
"Ordered an air conditioner it said if arrives tomrorow, what a joke it's still a week later my credit card was charged and no one has any idea where my item, there costumer service center is a call center they have no access to anything they just tell you what you went to hear. I will never walk into a home depot again. "
"We recently went into Home Depot to purchase a washer and dryer. When asked if we had and gas or electric hookup, we stated we unaware of the type of hook up we had, which we repeatedly told Cristal we weren’t sure if we had an electric or gas and we were not shown what the difference was and which out any confirmation the order proceeded to be placed. Once it was delivered the delivery guy told us we had a gas dryer and we’re receiving an electric dryer (we were told we could refuse if the appliances were damaged or defective. We were unaware we could have refused the delivery if the wrong item is ordered. It wasn’t until I went in to the store the same day as I was once informed you could refuse if it is the type of dryer as well once I went in to get help by Sylvia) if I had known this information previously I would have definitely refused the order. We spoke to Kirsten the appliance supervisor who was VERY VERY unhelpful and on top of being unhelpful was really Rude! We’ve offered to pay the restocking fee and purchase the new gas dryer through them and she didn’t want to hear anything we had to say. So much for customer service!! If you need help purchasing appliance I will NEVER recommend this The Home Depot ever again! "
"Electric glue gun( nice feel, good ergonomics, like the built in stand and dual heat) "
"Zero times, that’s how many times Home Depot returned a call about my bathroom remodel project. Zero times is how often a contractor showed up to take measurements of my door after several phone calls and failures to follow through. Zero times is how often I got a call to take measurements to replace my flooring. If you and your contractors can be depended upon zero percent of the time to show up, isn’t it considered false advertising to say you offer free in home estimates? Or is this a word game for the wary consumer focused on the offer but not necessarily warranting any follow through?"
"Seriously the worst experience EVER!!!! I was actually accusing of stealing before I even check out!!! Crack pot much????? This joker actually started making a scene telling me that he he was smarter than me and that no one showed with their own bags..again what??? Saving our planet and not using my own bag is a crime???!!!! I will never EVER SHOP THEIR AGAIN!!!! "
"I placed one of many orders over time with Home Depot and unfortunately, had a problem with this one that was my own fault. The customer service department, nevertheless, resolved my issue in the most excellent way possible. I am truly impressed with the professionalism and outstanding service I received. I will now make Home Depot my go-to source for everything they offer. Excellent product, excellent service!
After reading other reviews, please be aware that the people who install appliances for *all* mass retailers haven't received factory training. If you want and expect professional installation, then you should probably pay the extra amount required to receive it from a factory-trained installer."
