"On March 26th, 2013 we ordered bedroom furniture for my 3 year-old daughter. The items arrived via a freight company on April 4th, 2013. The items arrived with absolutely no shipping damage and the furniture items were well-packaged, and the boxes were in perfect shape. We accepted the boxes from the freight company (who do not stick around to make sure that the items are not damaged on the inside of the packaging), and began unpacking the furniture. It became apparent that the manufacturer or company responsible for packaging the furniture pieces did not perform quality control checks. The dresser has one drawer that will not close, one drawer has a facade that is falling apart, another drawer that paint is chipping off the bottom, and one support for the drawer is cracked. In addition, the drawers sit on circular cushions on either side of the drawer to keep from rubbing the wood support, and some of the cushions are missing. Also, the bed rails for the bed are cracked along the supports and pose an obvious safety concern and cannot be used. On April 8th, 2013 the company received an email from me explaining the issues and providing pictures of the defects/damage. That night the Customer Service department stated that they forwarded the information to the Claims department. It has been a week, and despite a couple emails sent, I have not heard from the Claims department about replacement of these pieces. I am unsure why it takes over a week to decide to replace obviously defective pieces. Homelement is more than welcome to arrange for pick-up of the defective pieces too, as they are taking up a lot of space in my home. Until this issue is resolved, my daughter is stuck sleeping on a mattress on her floor, and I just don't see why Homelement cannot go ahead and get the ball rolling on a replacement. One week may not seem like a lot of time, but I feel so bad for my daughter. She loves the look of her furniture, and does not understand why we can't put it together for her.
April 21, 2013 UPDATE:
The day after posting the review above I was contacted by Homelement's claim department. They offered to send replacement bed rails and give me a $150 discount on the dresser (dresser costs $560 on their website). I felt that I could overlook the damage/ defects to the dresser if given the discount only if they provide two replacement drawers. The dresser would look and function horribly with two drawers that are falling apart or are missing. I responded to them that day (April 16, 2013), but I haven't heard back yet. I sent them an email later last week requesting the status of the dresser replacement/discount and the approx. date we might receive the replacement bed rails, but they haven't responded. Yet another week has passed and my daughter is still stuck sleeping on the floor."
"I bought a Homelegance Inglewood living room set from Homelement. I was skeptical about buying furnitures online but Marlo only had the dining room set and said the living room set was "Discontinued". I love Inglewood so much so I decided to buy the dining room set from Marlo and look for the living room set online. Among all the online shops I found, Homelement offered the lowest price with 5% discount + free shipping.
The delivery took 10 days longer than expected because of manufacture delay. I was a little worried at first but Homelement kept me informed with the status and expected delivery date. When the package came, I was so happy about it! The items are well packed and delivery person was very careful. The boxes had minimum scratches on them. All items came in excellent condition w/o even the slightest scratches. I am very happy about it. I also had some interaction with Homelement's customer service during the process, and one day I realize every conversation was summarized and posted under my account order history. This gave me a lot of confidence and comfort too.
One thing I wanted to mention is that my free delivery only delivered to gate i.e. it was not so-called "white gloves delivery" where the delivery person carries the items to our rooms. It was fine with the coffee table and end table, because these were not assembled and so we could open the bigger boxes and carry the smaller boxes of parts upstairs. But the TV stand came assembled and it was a very big one! We had stairs and it took my husband and me quite some effort in order not to damage our wall and wood stairs. It may be worth paying some additional shipping fee for "white gloves delivery" when you buy heavy assembled items."
"I have never purchased furniture online before so I was a little skeptical but I cannot be more pleased with the quality and the beauty of the furniture I purchased.
When I need more furniture I assure that you will be my first choice.
Thank you,
Maria Lorente
P.S.I recommend your store to all my friends!!! "

"We just purchased a living set from Homelement, and are very pleased. The furniture is beautiful and priced well. The customer service was great and they shipped and delivered my furniture exactly as stated. I couldn't be more pleased."
"After an extensive search for the perfect wall accent, we ordered a large clock from Homelement. It was delivered on time in perfect condition, and looks beautiful. I highly recommend them!

"The product arrived in a damaged box. A couple of the metal ends were bent, and had to be reshaped. "
"I ordered a set of sectional on 02/14/2013 and everything went great. The Sale Dept. contacted me due to some CC issue (new address) and informed me the approximate ship date is 27th. Again, everything went great until the delivery day which is on March 7th. I took a day off from work just to wait around for the whole day, unable to leave my house. I called and checked on the status of the delivery around 5p.m. and found out that it didn't even load onto the truck, but the lady was very helpful and helped me to setup for the next delivery (03/14/2013). My wife took turn and staying home just to wait for the delivery which they finally made it to the house around 3p.m. They dropped the whoke skid off at my driveway which of course my wife can only look at it just to make sure it doesn't run away on its own. I got home, took piece by piece to my living room and installed it in there. Then just to found out one of the cushion was damaged by either dragging or leaving it on the ground for so long. I took the picture right away and sent to Homelement at the same night (3/14/2013). I got the reply back on the next day and Homelement forwarded my email to the Claim Dept., then the Claim Dept. forwarded the email to manufacture and finally got a reply back today (3/20/2013). This is want I got for the reply "Good Morning, the manufacturer has gotten back to me. They are stating that this is not a defect. They are stating that they are not sure but it appears maybe you had something laying on the item to cause the damage. They are also stating that the scratches are from pushing or dragging it through a narrow way. The are not able to send a replacement. They are however able to offer a discount for the item which can be refunded to you. Please let me know if you are willing to accept the discount. Thank you."
I called and tried to figure things out since I feel like I paid almost a grand for something damaged and now being offering discount to get a replacement, but didn't seem like they are helping me much. The lady told me she will inform her manager and will either email or call me back later.
Will be continued and I hope to write good things about Homelement instead.
Edit:
Home Element contacted me and helped me with the warranty. Not long after, the manufacture set up a delivery date and had my damaged cushion replaced. For the whole event, Home Element made sure I was ok with the process and very helpful and informative.
I will do business again with Home Element with my next purchase.
Problem solved..!"
"never thought i would purchase furniture online. i did and it was a great experience."
"I placed an order last year in April shortly after moving into our new house and I have had the worst experience with this vendor. My living room set was delivered damaged twice, the packaging was very poor for a bulky item. The shipping company didn’t want to wait for me to inspect the furniture ( which would have taken me like 5-10 minutes) I have purchased some furniture from other online vendors and they were much impressive. I had to go pick up the third delivery with replacement for the damaged piece and they messed up the order ( They sent me the ottoman table, instead of one of the sofa pieces.) Finally on the fourth time around the end of June last year, I got my living room set that I purchase for over $2500.00. During this time from April to June, I requested the gentleman I was dealing with to pick up the damaged item multiple times on our phone conversation and on email but no one came to pick up until January 2013, when Homelement contacted me to pick up the furniture which I was storing at my basement. Due to our unavailability at the end of Jan, I requested that the furniture be picked in the second weekend of Feb. They went ahead and charged my credit card without my approval. The moving service they contacted to help me move the damaged furniture from the basement, hasn't contacted me although I contacted them back in February. I haven't heard back from Homelement ever since they charged my card. This is definitely the worst customer service and I will never recommend anyone to this vendor. The furniture is not as sturdy as they claim as the sofa is already squeaky and the foam on the sofa seat depressed.
My comment on your (Homelement's) Response from 03/20/2013
I wanted to comment on the Homelement response but the site had no option for me to do so.
I agree the damaged furniture was replaced over a little over (approx) two and half months time, but Homelement didn't contact me despite my several requests to pick up the furniture until January of 2013. It seems like it is ok if your company doesn't respond for over 6 months and When a customer is not able to respond to your communication for a period of about two weeks due to family sickness, you go ahead and charge not only the cost of sofa set but also the ottoman table without getting the customer's consent??!! I am filing a complaint to the office of the Attorney General against your business practice."
"I have not had very good luck with my order. I ordered my sectional on Jan 4, 2013...My sectional arrived at a Texas warehouse and that warehouse sent back part of the sectional due to shipping damages...I receive my sectional Feb 12, 2013 and it too was damaged..with an inch puncture on the left chaise lounge and a 2 inch rip on the right chaise lounge..I am still waiting on the two chaise lounges to be replaced...it is now March 9,2013 and still have not received the replacements...

"Very pleased with the service and quality of the furniture. The packaging protected my furniture nicely for shipping and everything arrived in perfect shape!"
"My experience with Homelement was great! I was pleased with the furniture and with the service. I would buy from them again, for sure."
"Homelement had the best total price (goods, tax & shipping) that I could find on the internet for the two chairs I purchased. The chairs are fantastic and I have no complaints about the products after a weeks and a half of using them. I would suggest they find another delivery company for future orders to my area. Homelement had the chairs delivered to a warehouse approximately 45 miles from my house, but then they sat there for a week. The delivery person calls the night before their delivery day to my area and leaves a message to call them back and schedule a delivery. We called and go an answering machine and told them we would be available to receive shipment that evening. Did not hear anything back and by mid day we tried them again and we got a full message box response. After not hearing back on Friday, I called the delivery company 800 number. They offered to deliver the chairs on Monday between 10 and 2. As it was getting later in the morning, my wife called the number that we got earlier and the dispatcher answered and said the 800 people don't know anything and that they were not coming. They only deliver to my area on Thursday. Chairs finally showed up on Thursday. One box looked like someone enjoys kicking the boxes, but the chairs were in good shape."
