"What a great company. I love my Aviator CX7 laptop and I got it at a much lower price than other companies I talked to. Hypersonic will do anything they can to update your computer with the fastest, best parts, while the "big name" companies I talked to would not allow me to customize their machines at all, even on HD size! This computer is not full of generic, "cheapest that will get by" parts, but it has high quality, reputable parts that play together nicely. The screen is beautiful and has no dead pixels, even though I did not purchase "no dead pixel" assurance, and very little light leakage, which you can only barely see on the intro blue screen. I cannot say enough about how great my experience has been with this company. I highly recommend everyone purchase a machine from them before any other companies. I bought this to run Avid professional editing software and it is screamingly fast on this fantastic machine."
"Online ordering was easy. I called the sales department a few times during the build to make changes to the order with no issues. The sales people were friendly and knowledgeable. I experienced ZERO hold time when calling during business hours."
"I originaly purchased a decked out laptop from Hypersonic in February of 2005. After much research and price checking, I chose Hypersonic for competative pricing and variety of custom built options. My PC arrived within an acceptable time frame of promised delivery date. Since that purchase, I sent my laptop back once for a screen upgrade, and just recently upgraded a video card. The pricing seems fair, and I have been very impressed by the support and follow up emails asking about my satisfaction and any problems I may have. I highly recommend one of these systems to the novice or serious gamer.....especially if you don't want to pay the high price for a "name". This is the way to go."
"I must say I have read mixed reviews about these guys but after about a month or so of some intense research I decided to give them a try. Well here I am with the laptop at hand and I must say that so far it has been a delight working with them. From the start they have been very professional and helpful with my order and any questions I had getting this powerhouse built. This company captured my attention from the start, begining with the components that they use. As you can see on their site it is all top of the line, these guys DO NOT cut any corners. They are not ashamed to list what they use like most mainstream companies. Second the price.........let me tell you that the others in this catagory (alienware, voodoo, falcon, e.t.c)all use pretty much the same stuff but charge double.....why?
From the moment I got my new CX7 laptop I could tell that it is top quality and faster than lightning.
I got a follow up phonecall from them to see if all was well and I thought that was cool. Steve was my salesman and his customer service was great.
Anyhow I just wanted to drop a line to share my experience so far with Hypersonic and if I had to........I would do it all over again.
Thanks guys for this wonderful machine. "
"Below is a summary of my experience with Hypersonic. Since getting my order in December of last year, the laptop has never worked right, nor has repeated attempts under warranty repair been able to fix it. After the last few times of having to call repeatedly to get the support department to follow through on their promises of sending a return lable, I called into customer service requesting a refund or credit toward different machine. I was told the only thing they could do for me is bring it in under warranty for repair. I mentioned I was considering filing in small claims court to which I was told per the Terms and Conditions on their website, I would have to file in New York. (Odd since I can't find those terms on their website nor did I agree to them when I ordered over the phone) After yet another attempt to send it in for more repair attempts yielded the support department "forgetting" to send me a return label again, I have filed disputement of charge paperwork with my credit card company for defective merchandise. In my opinion any company claiming to be customer orientated would realize that merchandise that was purchased 7 months ago that still isn't working and has never worked correctly calls for something more then just honoring the warranty.

"I had purchased an EX7 Laptop and prior to OCZ buying Hypersonic I couldn’t get any support and the Laptop really didn’t perform well on playing games, Contacting OCZ/ Hypersonic a month ago and speaking with Mr. Sok and Pat on the laptop forum they asked me to send it in to them and they would see what they could do. Well I dint save my shipping Box and Mr. Sok sent me one overnight Free. I boxed up the EX7 and sent it off; they had it for a few weeks and kept in touch with me by both phone and e-mail.
I got my EX7 back 2 days ago and man they did a great job, this laptop screams now, plays all my games with no problems. I am an avid gamer and have a decent gaming desktop but now this laptop will run circles around it.
I am very pleased with OCZ/Hypersonic tech support and they way they kept me informed of the progress. I called them a few times and had no problems getting thought to Mr. Sok.
OCZ has restored my faith in Hypersonic and would buy another laptop from them and I plan to do just that within the next 18 months.
I know many have had problems with Hypersonic, me included. But that was prior to OCZ taking over. I would highly recommend buying a computer from Hypersonic. My laptop was returned to me in a decent amount of time and the performance was better than I had expected.
I also see from all the reviews since Jan 2008 that most people like myself are pleased with their laptops and their service. They may cost a little more than Dell and those other builders, but Hypersonic don’t install all that bloat ware and trial programs you don’t need. They will only install what you ask them to install and if you don’t want anything on it...they will do that also.
I have purchased computers from just about all the big builders and I have to say that Hypersonic has them all beat specially their tech support and customer service.....they really care about their customers.
So if you’re looking for a high powered top quality machine and you don’t mind paying a little more for it...Hypersonic is great. They in my opinion went out of their way to satisfy me and I am more than satisfied with My 2 year Old EX7.
Just wanted to update this.....its now November 2009 and this EX7 IS STILL GOING Strong...just bought a new TV and for the first time hooked my laptop up to the 32" flat screen 1080p set and man I couldnt believe the thing plays my games with awesome video...it wont come it at 1080 but does come in at 720p HD....MOVIES look great also....so this 4 year old EX7 still pumping the power out and has kept up with the latest games and I havent had to upgrade yet.....I build and repair computers and am currently building a beast for my new desktop....but I dont see having to upgrade to a new laptop yet.

"I Purchased my FX7 Turbo (Prebuilt) from hypersonic about a month ago. It was scheduled to ship on the Tuesday initially but changed to the Wednesday. This was however acceptable, since they claim to ship the product in one to two business days.
I live in South Africa and according to UPS the package was guaranteed to arrive on the 9th of May. After 6 agonizing days, my FX7 was outside my house - one full day early!
Overall I am greatly impressed by the computer, their service and of course the speedy delivery time.
As far as I can see I only have ONE!* non/partially lit pixel on this beautiful screen, which is amazing, since i didn't go for the option that gaurantees no dead pixels. * Out of 2304000 pixels (1920 x 1200)
In terms of performance, the laptop is more than I expected. I took the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ with 2 gigs of ram and the Nvidia 7800 GTX. I tested the laptop against my old desktop (P4 2.53 Ghz and 1 gig ram). The desktop completed my render test in 01:30 whilst the laptop using only one of its cpu's cores did it in 01:00. Using both cores the laptop does it in 35 seconds!!!
Overall Hypersonic has only put a smile on my face. In my opinion you cant go wrong by purchasing a computer from them.
I use the laptop for Editing and compositing all forms of digital video (DV and HD) and the laptop handles everything I can throw at it. Its the software that slows it down, not the hardware!
PS - What made me choose them over all the other custom laptop stores initially was their pricing and the fact that they offer online sales chat (very useful)!

"I purchased an Aviator CX7 from Hypersonic in April 2006. I spoke with their tech support reps several times and finally decided upon a high-end configuration that would best suite my needs. After I submitted my order, I received several e-mails from Hypersonic employees asking if they could be of service in any way. Waiting for shipment was the most difficult part of the order process. On the 10th business day after my order was received, the laptop shipped, and UPS delivered it in 3 days. When it arrived I found the laptop meticulously packaged and without a flaw (no dead pixels either - and I didn't get the dead pixel insurance). The outer box wasn't even damaged. Everything looked great and performed even better. Another thing I liked was that they didn't put a bunch of crap programs on the hard drive (the stuff you usually have to delete) like a very big computer company did to a friend of mine. Also, they did install the OS and productivity software I ordered. All I had to do was turn it on an go. These guys really know what they're doing. I probably couldn't have done a much better job if I'd have assembled it myself. They're definitely number one in my book. I'll never buy a computer from anywhere but Hypersonic from now on."
"Wow, where do I begin... I have been an I.T. and a serious gamer for many years. I have built myself a number of systems and I can certainly build my own box but this time I decided to see what the "pros" can do...
In the beginning...
I contacted Hypersonic, Voodoo and Falcon. These are the "big three" in my book as I don't even consider Alienware boutique since they went from building gaming-machines to building toys, no I wanted a PC for the serious gamer.
Falcon was not bad, the sales rep seemed to know enough about their systems but what turned me off was that they had a very narrow selection of components and options as they would not do anything too custom for me.
Voodoo was totally ridiculous. My conversation with the "sales rep" really changed what I thought about Voodoo. They are arrogant and seem more interested in building you what they want rather than listening to what the customer desires. Why would I pay almost $2000 more to someone who does not value my interests as a customer? Another big turn-off to me was the small and inflexible selection of components.
HyperSonic was very nice and accommodating. They listened to my story and my needs. They respected the fact that I know what I am talking about and did not try to push their opinion on me. Of course there were a couple of items that I was unsure about and they offered their professional advice in a very respectful manner.
In all three cases I would have to wait at least a month to get my box and I would pay much more than if I were to build it myself. So why is that worth it? Well, because if you imagine the time, effort and attention to detail that it takes to carefully craft a quality machine you would understand why they need to charge more for it. Not to mention the support that they would owe you for the next three years (in my case). Still I think voodoo charges way too much for less.
Placing my order...
I decided to place my order on the hypersonic website. The pages loaded up fast and the website was clean and easy to navigate. I was able to truly customize my PC by choosing from a wide range of components in each category. As soon as I submitted my order I got an automated email with all of my order info clearly stated for my records, but I was not done...
More customizing...
I called them the next day and asked if I can change a few things and get my system customized further. I requested a brand of hard drive and sound card that they did not offer on their website but hypersonic had no problem ordering these special parts for me. (P.S. voodoo refused to do that and said that they would not support any part that they do not offer). I had some custom paint and special lighting installed as well.
The long wait...
I knew that this would take time. They explained that orders are filled in the order they are received. It takes time to build and test each system and I can appreciate that this sort of machine is worth waiting for. In the mean time, I was able to go online and check my order process. I also called them several times and spoke with my original sales-rep as this chick in customer service. Both of them knew me personally at this point and were incredibly patient each time I called. I actually made a couple of other small changes to my order as I was waiting and they did not give me a hard time about it. They did advise me that changes may delay my order but in the end my system shipped only two days after the original estimate.
Shipping...
I got an email with my tracking numbers. I was able to track my UPS package and plan to stay home the day of the arrival. The system arrived as planned. My tower was taped and strapped onto a small wooden pallet. I paid extra for the pallet shipping but the system arrived in one piece. I did not want to chance my $9000 PC getting tossed around. The peripherals and extras arrived via standard UPS in a white hypersonic box. Both system and extras were packed well, plus I got a free t-shirt, pen and a cool leather zippered pad-folio thingie (like one my BMW's manual comes with). NICE!
Welcome home...
I unpacked the machine and as I pulled out my tower I actually gasped, it was absolutely gorgeous (I got a red metallic paint job). I powered it up and the inside lit up with the special lighting (red and UV) I requested, just as I pictured it. I took the side panel off to admire the insides. I must say that with all of my experience in building PCs I would not have been able (or have the patience) to build something quite like this. The cables were tied and routed so cleanly, the paint and lighting was very well done. An excellent finish! I installed my personal little apps and games and started F.E.A.R that night. I must say this system is faster than I imagined. It boots fast as heck, windows is zippy and gaming is a pleasure.
I will definitely order from Hypersonic again and I already recommended them to my best friend. Thank you Hypersonic."
"Here is a detailed rundown of my very pleasant experience with Hypersonic.
I placed my order on February 15th on the Hypersonic’s site (which by the way has one of the best configurator out there). I was able to select every single option I wanted for my state of the art Aviator FX7 laptop down to a custom automotive paintjob (more on the mouth-watering paintjob later).
Later that same day I was called by Brian, a Hypersonic sales or tech (I could never tell because he was so tech-savvy). Brian reviewed my order with me and answered some questions I had about the setup (dual boot, raid, win64, etc.).
The next day, I logged in to check my order status and saw that the system was slated to ship on March 13, right in line with the website estimate of 3-4 weeks.
On the 20th I called Hypersonic customer service to see why my credit card had not yet been billed. Dorian informed me that it was in fact pre-authorized and that I should see it on my online statement any day and that my order was released and was on track.
On the 25th I received a call from Brian who informed me that my system’s drives were being upgraded to the faster SATA version (from the older PATA technology) at no extra cost. I asked whether this would cause a delay and he said that it should not because the system had already been built using the new drives. Needless to say I was ecstatic and was counting minutes to receive the system (reading some of the posts here, I was concerned about delays in the ship date).
Finally, on March 7th, I got a call from Alison who informed me that the system was actually ready and pending shipment later that day! A WEEK AHEAD OF THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE!
I scheduled a “personal day” at work on the day I was to receive my system. The first thing that is totally stunning is the look of the system. The pearly, glossy Chiaretto Red finish was immaculate and looked especially sharp with the HYPERSONIC logo embossed on it. But just as impressive was the power behind it. It chewed through every game I threw at it, even at highest resolutions. The Vividview glossy screen is also one of the sharpest I have seen.
The system was immaculately packaged in 2 sets of boxes, with the software and manuals tucked in a very sleek Hypersonic leather padfolio which also included a custom disaster recovery dvd.
This whole experience for me sets the benchmark of how a company should operate. Hypersonic gets 5 stars across the board for their customer service, performance, quality, aesthetics and professionalism. "
"Ordered computer on 3/24/06. Expected ship date has come and gone 3 times, each time getting pushed back by at least 3 days. No explanation offered. Put in a call to them and was treated like a jerk. Told it was taking longer than expected and would ship at the end of last week which obviously it did not. Sales people are great, once they get your money everything changes. Was told they would give me a hat and t-shirt for my trouble after ordering a $6750 computer. Waited for 6 weeks. They are going to try to pacify me with $20 worth of crap. Will call again monday morning and most likely cancel the order. Then order from Falcon Northwest. If they will not refund will dispute charge through credit card company. Hope their machines are better than their business practices, wouldn't stand to reason though. "
"22NOV2005 order was delayed and advertised components were not actually available. Laptop arrived in good condition and has no dead pixels. Found out that some of the built in memory card readers didn't work. Had used two of the slots and they worked fine, but CF card slot refused to recognize the card. Card worked fine in another card reader. I also had two episodes where the machine wouldn't start although the power indicator lights were in the green. The Lightscribe DVD burner also would not recognize the Lightscribe disk. It played DVDs and burned DVDs just fine, but wouldn't work when I tried to get it to recognize the Lightscribe disk. Even though the system had a Lightscribe icon on the desktop when I first received it, the software wasn't there. I could never get it to work. 30JAN2006 laptop just died right in the middle of editing home video. Never booted again, and the only indication it was getting power was the indicator lights. Emailed tech support and it took them three days to reply. They sent me several suggestions for a fix, but nothing worked. It then took them until 07FEB2006 to respond with a repair ticket number. Had to pay to insure it and mail it back since I wasn't located at home (I am at an APO). Wasn't able to send it until 27MAR2006. Mailed it and insured it at a cost of $53. 29MAR2006 Emailed Hypersonic with the insured mail number and other details about the problems with the laptop. Didn't get a reply until 04APR2006, and that was to tell me to send inquiries about my laptop to the repair department. 05APR2006 I sent an email to the repair department telling them about the problems with my laptop and informing them of the insured mail number. 20APR2006, had heard nothing so I emailed the repair department and cc the customer service department. Received a reply on 25APR2006, from customer service, that my email would be forwarded to the repair department. Never received a reply from the repair department. 01MAY2006 received an email from Hypersonic advising me to choose between them shipping it free to Texas, or me paying to ship it overseas. They had my computer the whole time and never acknowledged it. Sent them a detailed email outlining what had happened up to and during the time it died. Also included the information about the card reader and Lightscribe drive. Repair department never replied to my emails even though I was told to address all emails to the repair department. Never told what they did to repair my laptop, or if all of the issues I emailed them about were addressed. Don't believe they actually tested every aspect of the machine's operation before shipping it to me in November 2005. Hypersonic's responses to me during the order process and later when problems arose were either excuses, or even worse, no reply at all. 02JUN2006, repairs were to replace the motherboard. TV tuner never worked after repairs and it turned out that DVD burner was not a Lightscribe. Bought Lightscribe and the invoice says Lightscribe, but they pulled a bait and switch. Disaster Recovery disk they gave me was corrupt, and loaded corrupt files on my machine, so now it won't boot at all, and gives me messages about corrupt files when I try to re-install Windows. Informed Hypersonic that I was making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they broke off contact with me. My emails have been ignored for the last ten days. I filed a BBB complaint on 01JUN2006. The only way to describe the way they treat customers is "Horrible". On 19SEP2006, the motherboard crashed again. I have owned it now for ten months, and it has been operational for about half that time. My laptop will not boot and the lights just blink when I press the power button. It is identical to the previous time the motherboard quit on me. I emailed tech support, then waited. At the end of the day on September 20th I emailed them again. I got a reply that they needed to "look into the matter a little more closely". On September 25th got another email from them telling me to move the memory modules around and suggesting "fixes" that I believe are time wasting delays that they use to put customers off in hopes that the warranty runs out. I sent them an email expressing this opinion, and they haven't replied. When Hypersonic ignored my emails before, I was given the excuse that the tech who received my email went on sick leave. I reported Hypersonic to the BBB, and after three months of trying to get Hypersonic to respond, the BBB reported to me that Hypersonic ignored their inquiries, and refused to respond to my complaint. I understand that Hypersonic isn't a member of the BBB, and I can now see why. I just shelled out $63 to insure and mail my laptop back for repairs again. 08NOV2006 received my laptop back. I have no idea what they did to repair it because they didn't put a list of repairs in with it. They never acknowledged receiving it or notified me they were mailing it back. Anyone who buys from them after reading this cannot say they were not warned."
"Very good products, Their computers are extreme and we will consider Hypersonic PC first for the purchase our next system.
About the only real weakness they have is email, you might as well just call as they do not respond well to email inquirys, If you call they are very easy to deal with. "
"I will not deal with this company again. They were always from the start extremely rude on phone.
The support line gave me the run around because my support number was not associated with any invoice.
Unresponsive to my emails, I was waiting more than 2 weeks for a response on more that one occasion.
Overall for the whole experience with Hypersonic was very disappointing, nothing like I thought it would be.
I have stopped using them and will seek a better company to supply high quality PC’s.
I could go on.. But it’s nothing that hasn't been said by the other dissatisfied customers below this post.
"
"Received my laptop (Aviator CX7) in February. Shipped on time, within ~2 weeks. Machine came well packed, perfect condition. Beyond perfect, actually. Despite the fact that I didn't order the "no-dead-pixel" guarantee, my 1920x1200 display arrived with not a single dead pixel. Absolutely flawless -- consider me impressed and very happy. Machine is running perfectly (very surprised how quick this lil' beast is!), and communication with the company seems very reasonable, although most of my experience with them is through Pat on notebookforums.
If I'm ever in the market for another machine like this, I'd have no problem dealing with Hyper again."
