"I bought the Denon AVR 2313CI AV Receiver from IBuysOnline. It arrived today in perfect, pristine condition. If you're thinking about buying something from IBuysOnline (and you're reading this), then, like me, their low prices are probably making you suspicious. After reading a number of the reviews here, I decided to call and ask them if there was anything non-standard about the unit (e.g. refurbished, non-retail packaging, no manufacturer's warranty, etc). I spoke with Will, and he confirmed that the 2313CI was the real deal: retail packaging, new, with the manufacturer's warranty in place. I ordered the 2313CI the following day.

After placing my order, the Order Status page said my order was "Pending Payment". So I called Will, who I had talked with the day prior, and he asked me to confirm the three-digit card security code. He then asked me about any additional items I might want: cables, accessories, etc. Since I had qualified for the free shipping, he also asked if I'd like to upgrade to a more premium shipping method. In a peculiar move, he offered to split the price of the shipping with me. As I can't imagine why a company would take a loss on the shipping when their prices are already so low, I'm guessing that the first 100% quote was really high and the second 50% quote was also high (but now seemed much lower in comparison with the first number).

My guess is that this is where IBuysOnline makes some of their money back. They offer a low price, and it's a legitimate low price, but they make sure that you actually talk with someone at least once before the order goes through. It's an interesting sales tactic, and I don't mind it (even though I doubt that they really needed to confirm my three-digit security code, and instead were using that as a pretense to up-sell me). In fact, for the incredibly good prices they offer, I'll gladly talk with someone from IBuysOnline every time I order.

Just be aware going into it that you will most likely need to talk with someone from the company before your order goes through. If you call and order over the phone, you can probably circumvent the need for an additional step. Alternatively, you can just call during business hours right after placing your order. That's what I did, and the 2313CI arrived just a few days later.
