"Terrible company. Wish I'd found this page before ordering.
I live in the UK and ordered a specific part and part number shown and described in great detail on their site, and clearly labelled as 'IN Stock'. Item was a Toshiba 160Gb IDE Hard Drive - cost $89 plus $25 shipping to the UK. Impact cmputers sent a different part - different make, model number etc. that I could not use. I ordered a specific part, from a parts store, because I needed a specific part!
I had to send their incorrect part back at a cost of $27. They said they would not refund any of the shipping , but would try to source the correct part. Several weeks later, with no contact and no action on their part I asked for a refund and they did not refund any of the shipping - cost of item $89. I'm left $47 out of pocket because Impact Computers sent an item I did not order.
Their business practices are immoral and they are deceptive in their advertising, and worse than poor in their customer service.
It is no wonder that their 'Forums' button does nothing as their many unhappy customers would use it.
They wasted $47 of my money on shipping, $$$s on chasing them via international phone calls, many emails, many hours, and 3 months to get to the end point where I am worse off than when I started."
"Web site showed part in stock which is why we ordered from them, additionally web site shows that orders placed before the cutoff for day ship same day. Our customer (we are a service shop) agreed to pay extra for expidited parts to be shipped. So imagine my surprise when on Friday (two days after order) we received a shipping confirmation for items placed with two day shipping! Our order was in well before the daily deadline by a number of hours.
Would definitely recommend that you do NOT purchase from this company"
"Don't buy from these people! I called in advance to verify that they had a certain laptop battery in stock. They told me they did so I ordered it. They sent me the wrong battery. I had to pay to return it. Then they told me they didn't have the battery nor could they get it, so they had lied to me up front. They have a policy that says they will not be responsible for any shipping charges even if they make the mistake, so they would not credit me the shipping costs for their mistake. I told them that I would not have ordered it except that they told me it was in stock. They said tough. So I paid for shipping both ways and got nothing for my money.
These people should not be trusted! Buy elsewhere!"
"This was the only place that had the LCD screen I needed to repair my wife's sewing machine. A couple of days after I placed my order online, I emailed for status and received a prompt reply with expected delivery date. I received the part in the expected time frame, it was in a sealed package and worked great."
"Like many others I ordered one product a Liteon DVD burner and received an HP DVD burner with a different model number instead. They tried to convince me it would work as Liteon made the drives for HP. When I tried to use it, the case was an inch longer than the Liteon case and it would not fit. I had to pay shipping to return it and then they charged me a $25 restocking fee and did not return the sales tax which is illegal. I should not have been charged a restocking fee since they did not ship me the part that I ordered and their web site did not state or equivalent product."
"Ordered a Dell optical drive kit for a PowerEdge server. It is supposed to include the drive, mounting bracket and cable. They substituted a bare HP drive. After spending a few hours trying to return it, they finally agreed to send me an RMA. Upon receipt of the return, they sent me an email saying they did NOT send the wrong part. Complaints with the BBB and Florida Attorney General's office are in process. "
"On February 23rd, I purchased a specific part for my scanner from IMPACT COMPUTERS online. The company sent a totally useless partthat would not even plug into my scanner.
Here is how I believe Impact Computers works: I order a carefully researched specific part that I need based on make/model number etc. They send me a different part that is useless to me. (Bait and Switch) I telephone them. Customer Service female(who is rude) lies to me and tells me they will send the correct part, & instructs me to return wrong part in the expensive UPS Express mail bag. I promptly return wrong part, expecting the correct part to be promptly sent as promised. Impact Computers receives the part back from UPS, ... now that they have a delivery documented, and a part returned, ...they now email me and say it is my fault because they sent the part I ordered and it is not defective (NOT!!! ) AND they are going to charge me a huge restocking fee $19.95 on my $53 purchase plus $10 return expense. They now have my money, the part I returned at my expense, and a delivery confirmation. They tell me to wait 15 business days for my refund. When I complain about any of this, they point to their policies posted online which support their dishonest practices (they will substitute parts at their whim). I wait the three weeks (15 business days )and send two emails asking for my refund that has not come. In my opinion, Impact computers are professional scam artists who are making a living cheating and stealing from their customers. Do your homework before ordering anything from this company!!! Google "Impact Computers complaints" and see what comes up!!!! Judging from the number of similar complaints that I read, they have been doing this bait and switch scam for a long time (years), charging you huge restock fees and shipping expenses that are never refunded for their mistakes. (Not really mistakes because they send you wrong part on purpose?!?) They post lies and more excuses (policy) to respond to complaints. DO NOT bother to read their repsonses to complaints on this website; this is a full time job for their customer service loser who spends all day doing damage control to cover their dishonest business practices. If you are a victim of this company contact the Florida Attorney General and you can file an online complaint or request a form to send in.

Report also to the FTC for bait and switch and theft of refunds."
"I ordered a NEW Sony DC Fan part# 1-763-964-12 for $49.95 plus $7.95 shipping. I received an alternate part number and the package on the outside was labeled new but when I opened it the part was obviously used. It had scratches and glue residue making it unmistakably used! I contacted Impact Computers about returning this and they sent me an RMA number in email but no return shipping label. I contacted them 2 other times thru email and by phone and after getting the run around it ended up with a statement that I should have read their return policy on their website and that I would have to pay return shipping. I disputed the charge thru Paypal and they said since it wasn't from Ebay they could not do anything and that I would have to pay return shipping for a refund. I feel that any reputable company would pay return shipping if THEY messed up. I will pay return shipping for whatever I can get back but will never order from this company again!
--------
In reply to their reply.... the website did state that it was new! Also the static package it came in was sealed with a sticker that said NEW also. I am going to return the part when I get time to go to the post office and ship it back, which I wouldn't have to do if they would send me a return shipping label so that I could just put it in my mail box. You can also go see my review to the Better Business Bureau. This is no way to conduct a legitimate business!"
"After reading this, I'll say thanks to resellerratings and the people who reviewed this site. After seeing excellent reviews on the website (usually a causes eyebrows to be raised) and the odd 5 tick reviews from other companies, Im not gonna buy the Q9550 at the low price of £105. Was too good to be true. So thanks to you reviewers, Im not gonna spring their trap! At best they have a chequered response and I'll be honest: when the price is too low, don't go for it, Ive learnt my lesson before and am certainly not falling for it again."
"ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!
I recently ordered a wireless lan card from Impact Computers. Their website stated that the part was brand new, and made no mention of substitutions; however, when I received the part, it wasn't only the wrong part (they claim it is a suitable alternate), but the part is obviously used (bent pins and all). When I called them on it, they initially claimed they would give me an RMA and return label to cover the shipping. After 3 more phone calls, I received the following email (personal info removed):
Dear (Insert your name here):

So, bottom line is, regardless whether it was their mistake or not, they want YOU to pay for the return shipping AND even though I paid for 2-day service, they'll utilize 3-day UPS to return my "New" part. It's hard to believe companies like this can stay in business.

"I feel this company is out thre trying to screw you up "intentionally" or something. Otherwise, the service cannot be this horrible. Here are my complaints:
1. I order a part they claim to be out of stock.
2. The part they claim out of stock is much more expensive and suddenly a $159 part turns into a $1,195 part.
3. They don't tell you anything about this so I had to find a way to chat with them - and it takes 30 minutes on chat to even get a response after the initial start.
4. Worst of all, there isn't even an apology.
5. And I am still left hanging on the chat line while I open and finish this review.
6. I don't even can any official status of the order after 3 days.
7. And as horrible as this sounds, they kept my credit card number on file for an order they don't even plan to fulfill without telling me.
I read their other reviews and I don't think I can give them a benefit of doubt.
Update:
These guys are now pretty godd at lying, too. I got an email from them that they are cancelling my order at my request - I made no such request. Their website still lists the part at $159. Why don't they change it to $1,199 as they claim. AND, I still don't hear any apology. You guys should quit being a business!!"
"Simply a bait-n-switch operation. Called to verify the price, verified, ordered online, got a call 2 hours latter froma different rep. saying that "it's special order item, the price on the site is a mistake and the supplier has raised the price" and offered to buy it at the higher price. Same item. Now 3 hours after when I'm writing this review it is still showing the same original lower price. Avoid. "
"Buyer Be Ware…
Reference the following web page: http://www.impactcomputers.com/kh290.html
This company is selling component motherboards as "NEW" however they are used. When asked, they say they do not sell used motherboards. I purchased a motherboard as "New" (as per their website) and when I received it, it did not work and the company would not exchange it but required me to purchase another motherboard and “wait” to receive a "RMA" number. I did received the second “NEW” motherboard however it was originally build by Dell for Wells Fargo on 6-15-2007...I have it now! (This part was sold to me as NEW and it is USED by Dell’s documentation.) I never received the RMA number and due to family illnesses (My mother-in-law had a stroke, my mother had a heart attack coding 4 times in the hospital and my father fell and broke his hip which resulted in death January 5, 2010), I was not able to give this RMA my attention until recently I have called asking for the RMA and have been denied as per their warranty policy. In Texas this advertising violates the Deceptive Trade Practice Act (DTPA)...I'm an Auto dealer...I know these laws. I have also turned this over to the Florida Attorney General for DTPA online practices as well as filing a case with the Florida On-Line Better Business Bureau and with American Express.
If you read these reviews and still purchase from this company and get “stuck” like the rest of us…don’t cry because you did it to yourself. I only wished I had found this page prior to my purchases.

"I agree. Terrible customer service. One person says one thing another says something else. I called first, then ordered the drive they said they had in stock, online. They sent the WRONG drive, after comfirming on the phone that they had the exact one I needed. Now they want me to pay for return shipping. I don't understand how this company stays in business. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was refused. I think this company has a scam going concerning bait and switch. There are too many complaints of the wrong drive sent for it to be innocuous. I also could not find the company executives names or phone numbers anywhere on their site or in the phone book. Why are they so insulated?"
"I should have been paying attention, however, someone is asleep at Impactcomputer:
needed a Fujitsu 80GB laptop drive, invoice says Toshiba, actual drive shipped was Western Digital! I opened package before realizing - not worth huge restocking fee on a $100.00 drive. (I needed this drive for recovery purposes, WD 500GB laptop drives are less than 50 bucks...)"
