"I supervise an FDA regulated laboratory, which means that my computing systems are validated, and can not be changed. Upgrading is so expensive for the documentation work, probably 20X more than computing equipment. When my Dell Precisin 340 workstations ran out of factory support, the Dell customer service person recommended Impact Computers. Impact computers has had all the parts needed to keep my laboratory PC's up and running. When I had a catastrophic water leak that destroyed a $45K analytical instrument and it's PC, Impact had all the parts to assemble the correct build so I could restore a Ghost image and run! No adjustments, no firmware changes, they got the motherboard and all the parts right the first time. I ordered an obscure Dell monitor power supply, but it was the monitor that was dead. Melissa at Impact Computers was great and issued and RMA the same day.

My biggest problem with the company is that no one would talk to me because I was ordering international. They told me i had to do everything on line. So i completed the order on line. and took a screen grab of my order. I had picked to have my one Mac optical drive shipped to me via UPS next day Air ( FYI we do have UPS on island) After I competed the order i got a confirmation email with the order number and shipping tacking information. They Shipped it via USPS???
So 5 working days later (and 2 more weekend days) later, I'm still here with no optical Drive. I checked the USPS.com shipping via the tracking number, and the last thing it says is July 7th "Processed at USPS Origin Sort Facility" Well the 7th was a Saturday, and its now the 11th. So I called Impact and my first conversation i just asked questions, they told me to check with the local post office. I did, i called UPS and the airport Postoffice where everything comes in. NOthing. So I called back, the whole time the lady was trying to explain to me that the shipping via USPS can not be tracked once it leaves the USA, and that it may take up to 30 days!
My Main problem with this company is 1. no one would help me before I order the part. 2. they shipped it via another method then i Ordered. and 3. after the fact, they refused to accept the fact that they made a mistake on the order.
All they did was explain to me all the things they should have told me over the phone prior to me ordering. She said something like next day Air dosent go to the Caymans, and that under international shipping they have all these things explained. And they do, it explains that they do ship UPS over seas...
I personally will not do any business with this company ever again.

If someone is ordering over seas, your system has to be updated to show only the correct forms for shipping, and if their is a mistake, someone should call to confirm before making a change on the order rather then making an assumption that the costumer was trying to cheat the system.
Im glad that your company prides its self on trying to point out your costumers mistakes rather then helping them complete their order. If it was my mistake for clicking the wrong shipping method then fine, but next time I will be shopping with someone who corrects me. I find it funnie that Impact Computers spends more time dealing with people on a 3rd party websites, rather then on their own website.

"They changed the price on me twice within 4 business days before The order was confirmed. Originally, "800GB/ 1.6 TB Tape Media (75 Pack) 341-4645 For Dell Equipment" was listed for $1,190 on the site (and is still listed at that price.) When I called to place an order (Had to be tax free, which their checkout process does not accomodate,) the sales rep said the item was out of stock but they could special order it for me, the new price would be $1,299.00. I agreed, and asked for a quote at the new price without the tax so I could get it approved, again. The quote was sent the next evening (Friday). I placed the order Tuesday morning, and received a call later that day stating the price was now $1,994.95, nearly double the quoted amount. I was skeptical of ImpactComputer.com to begin with, and this experience did not help. I regret wasting my time chasing down invoices that apparently mean nothing to the company."

"I don’t know where all this negative experience is coming from I had a great experience and would use this company again.
I ordered a hard drive for my 10 year old Sony Vaio, they sent me out the exact replacement, a New Hitachi HD and it was in the sealed Hitachi anti-static bag. The Hard Drive performed flawlessly for one day and then died (That is not their doing it was Hitachi’s)
I made a phone call and was greeted by a very courteous Staff member, she took my information and said they would get back to me a few hours later they did and here is an excerpt from the e-mail:

"I placed the order on 4/17 with next day air shipping. Their website clearly states that the order would ship same day if placed before 5pm eastern and I placed my order at 2:30pm eastern. "This website is the most blatantly horrible place to go for computer parts either new or used. I went here to buy a IO control panel for my old dell xps 400 that I loved dearly, and these people sent me a broken board. then they had the audacity to say I sent them the wrong part, and proceed to say that I broke the part when I tried to install it! you can't have it both ways. I still have my old part to prove that I did not send them mine. The quality control of this company is horrible. DO NOT ORDER PARTS! IT IS A FRAUD AND A NIGHTMARE FOR SOMETHING SIMPLE. now they're going to charge me to send a broken part back or they'll throw it away. what a joke i'm out 50 bucks and they want more. ridiculous. how they're still in business is beyond me.
