"J&R shipped me an ASUS laptop that lacked the hard drive capacity noted on their website. While they did offer to accept a return, they made no other alternative concession. I believe an alternative concession (e.g., partial credit for cost of the unit) is necessary as we all know returning a computer that has licensed software on it is very problematic. "

"I originally ordered my rather expensive Asus monitor from a large on-line retailer that I have routinely done business with before. I waited and waited for my delivery and after two weeks sought to contact the retailer for an explanation as to why the monitor had not shipped. Trying to get a person to talk to about my problem was extremely annoying and difficult. I had to really dig through the website to get a phone number for customer support. It wasn't easy. Neither was the subsequent conversation. Long story short, they were not able to fulfill my order at this time. They never bothered to notify me of the problem. So, I cancelled the order and started my search for the monitor again. Almost three weeks after ordering it the first time. I found J&R had the same monitor, same special price, and called for information. The support number was right the on the front page of J&R web site, and within a minute I was talking to a gentleman (yes, a real human being)who not only took my order but gave me knowledgeable and reassuring information about the monitor that I was buying. Done. All within a few minutes and a pleasant experience to boot. I received the monitor a couple of days later along with some very good promotional material for J&R showing me that they both valued me as a customer and appreciated my business. Customer service satisfaction is as important if not more important to me as is fair pricing. J&R has demonstrated this to me and will now become my default on-line store for all of my electronic needs. I truly appreciated J&R's personalized customer service, support, and pricing. Thanks for being human.
