But JenJenHouse was very gracious and offered me a 20%refund so that I could have the alterations done. They have been extremely nice and again the dress is of excellent quality and I would have had to pay easily $400 for it in any of the dress shops near where I live. It looks beautiful and like I paid close to $1000 for it. "For those who are concerned about ordering a dress online, rest assure JenJenHouse is an excellent online retailer. They offer variety, value, reliability, and excellent customer service. The ordering process was easy with detailed instructions on sizing and custom tailoring option. The turn-around time was slightly faster than they state on their website and my situation really tested their customer service capabilities and they did exceptionally well. Here's what happened: I had opted to pay extra for the custom sizing option having noted that the standard sizes would not fit. When my strapless prom dress arrived, it was way too big and long, and my initial reaction was they did not tailor to my specifications. Since there was no time to return the dress, I had it altered locally, but requested JenJenhouse pay for the alterations. They responded promptly (they are 9 hours ahead, Hong Kong time) and sent me pictures of each step of the dress production to demonstrate that the measurements were as I requested. Since I had taken my dress in to be altered, I could not send proof it did not fit, but I was confident I had measured correctly according to their measurement guide. At the end, we both were correct, but the design of the dress did not lend itself to the standard measurement. JenJenhouse agreed to refund me for half the cost of my alterations, which is fair compromise, since neither of us were at fault, but more due to the nature of the design. We exchanged about 7 emails, each time JenJenhouse stepped us to make sure we arrived at a satisfactory solution. I'm very happy with how they responded. Now, as to the dress, it is pretty, (and of course looks better on the model and me), quality is good, not great, but for the price, you're are definitely getting value. It's really a great option for a special occasion dress. Thanks to Amy Wang, my customer service rep who did a wonderful job resolving my issue.
