"It says it in the title. I paid a few dollars to receive one answer, since it was clear that I didn't have to subscribe to a membership. To my surprise, they were pulling about $50 out of my card, every month, since last year... and they've subscribed me to a membership I never subscribed to myself. I never received a notification for any of these charges either, I discovered this by chance, after things weren't adding up on my bank statement. This was deliberate on their part. I do plenty of online shopping and use plenty of online services, and I've never had such an experience. I was scammed out of a **** ton of money, for a service I never used, and they're refusing to refund me. Their "experts" aren't real either, so find another website."
"I had a similar experience to others I've read online. I paid for a 7-day trial ONLY BECAUSE it said that they would send a reminder before the trial ended, because I know how forgetful I am. Well I never received the reminder, and I just realized I have been being charged $28/month for several months. I NEVER used the service after the trial period (I had needed an appraisal about a specific item), and this fact would be easy for JustAnswer to verify. So I contacted customer service and they outright refused to refund me -- saying that whether or not the customer has used their service, their policy is to NOT refund the customer. I think this is terrible business. It shows total disregard and lack of respect for the customer, as well as a total lack of belief in their business. Especially during a pandemic. I will be sharing my unhappiness online."
"I can across this service a while back. I hopped on a chat with someone who helped direct me to what I needed. I was told it was only $5 to get a question answered. Seemed reasonable. It’s been a few months now and I just realized I’ve been getting charged $50 a month. I haven’t even used their services. Come to find out the $5 is a trial that they don’t tell you about up front. They refused to give me a refund even thought their service just renewed yesterday. So much of this bait and switch stuff out there. "

"These people took monthly payments from my credit card without me receiving any invoices or notifications that the deductions were happening. I believed the membership was cancelled. They were not prepared to refund any money. For me it would have been much, much cheaper to go to a local lawyer and ask my question, rather than lose hundreds of dollars in a series of silent deductions over many months until I realised and stopped it. Customer service with a view to any sort of resolution was non-existent."

Well turns out I did seek "legal" advice and used this service BUT I had no idea that "if I didn't decline the 7-day FREE after that 7 days, I would continue to get $60 after having to change credit cards for Fraud according to CitiBank...
I called the 800# on the credit card transaction entry and eventually found out who these people were. Called them on October 6,2020 and found out the above!

Yes, there are a lot of these out there. I bought it a Amazon 5 years ago and they still sell it and it was made by Honeywell. I tried to use their service with the trial version, but it did not work, my question was not answered, but that was not a big deal anyway, since it is only $0.10. The problem arises when you sign a $50 membership and you don't realize that. They just charged me, I contacted the company saying that I never knew about that, that I never used the service and that it has not been 24 hours since the membership was charged, that I already canceled it but I would like to get my money back. They know that I never used their service and that it was just charged, so nobody had to be there to answer any questions, nobody has had to give me any kind of service and they haven't done any kind of work for me, even so, they refused to return the money claiming that "I am not eligible for a refund." It is really sad to have the situation we have in the world right now with people losing their jobs, including myself, to have your money stolen in this way. Really frustrating and of course just for the bad customer service, I would never recommend this company."
