"My old box died and I needed to build a new one that would work with my five-year-old Seagate Barracudas (ATA), my Matrox Millennium G450 (AGP), and Linux. Two pieces of old tech and a non-mainstream OS. I guess I could have figured out what to get eventually, but it would have taken forever.

Edit:I received my computer on time with only 1 delay due to a lack of motherboards from their suppliers, but they were quick to get replacements and notify me of the delay. "Excellent communication, both before and after the sale. Once my needs and wishes were established, I received a quote, which I accepted. Some parts were not in stock, but they were ordered promptly. Putting the machine together took a few days longer than anticipated, as they were quite busy. Packing was very secure, and luck had my regular UPS delivery person on duty, who handed the package to me rather than throw it on the doorstep and run. There were a couple of issues (like a defective memory DIMM) but a new pair of DIMMS were quickly sent to me, without my having to first return the defective part. All throughout,

"I had first contacted Kevin about a new computer in June..We must have had over 100 e-mails, as each time i had more questions. Early July we zeroed in on what would suit my needs and budget. I found a system i wanted built, but then Kevin told me the prices would drop on some of the AMD systems at the end of July. Finally he e-mailed me with the new products and the lower prices. "I ordered two PCs from KC-Computers. Kevin was helpful with the configurations for their intended use and users. One PC arrived in perfect working order. All questions that I had were resolved quickly and efficiently by email communicaton with Kevin. The other PC did not arrive in working order. It was a nuisance and I did get testy in my communications, but Kevin remained professional and went through the process to determine the problem. The PC had to be sent back, which was an annoyance. "Hello, everyone. I would like to tell you about my experience with KC Computers. I sent them a computer to repair that had broken down due to some overheating issues. I asked KC Computers to check and to replace any parts that had broken down due to the heat, with an added request to install some new graphics cards that I provided for them inside the computer, and to replace the old motherboard and the old sound card with some new ones that I requested, and to test out the whole system. I called Kevin, the owner, and explained my problem and my situation, and he was very helpful and courteous on the phone, telling me all that needed to be done, and everything that repairing my computer would require. He gave me an estimate over the phone, and told me all the instructions that I would need in order to ship the computer to him and have him repair it. So then, I shipped the computer to him, and after he received it, patiently waited for him to repair it. Soon after, Kevin and his staff began to work on it. They not only checked the entire computer out, and made sure that there were no other parts that were damaged or faulty due to the overheating as I requested, but they also installed the new graphics cards that I asked them to, and they also replaced the old motherboard and sound card with the new ones that I ordered from them, and also sent me back the old ones after they repaired the computer. Throughout the whole process, they kept me thoroughly informed and updated on the current status of the repair by e-mail, answered any questions that I had about the repair, fulfilled the special requests that I made regarding the repair, and informed me when they were done, and when the computer would be shipping back to me after they had finished repairing it. I was kept in the loop, so to speak, and was consulted often, and was a part of the repair process the whole time. Kevin, the owner, is a great guy. He is patient, courteous, thorough, and takes time to explain things, give updates on the status of your order, and takes the time to answer questions that you may have about computers in general and also about your specific order. I could not recommend KC Computers more highly, but you don’t have to listen to me, all you have to do is take a look at their rating. Their rating speaks for itself. 8/2/06--I also have something else to add. Just after receiving my computer and testing it out to see if everything worked, I began the process of downloading and installing drivers so that my computer would have the latest drivers, utilities, etc., and everything else. Once I finished doing that, I tried updating the computer's BIOS on my own, but because I did not have enough experience doing that, I forgot to write down the motherboard's current BIOS settings before I updated it. Once I updated it, I found that the computer would not boot up. It kept on saying that there was a disk reading error, and would not go to the desktop. I immediately e-mailed Kevin in order to try and explain my plight, and he was very helpful in helping me to find my way out of it. After several days of e-mailing him back and forth and following his suggestions in carefully tinkering around with the BIOS settings, he helped me to diagnose the problem, and to correct it, and now the computer boots up to the desktop again. He did not have to do this, especially since my order with him was aleady completed, and I had gotten into that trouble with the computer refusing to boot up to the desktop because of my own fault, but he took the time to do so even though it took up extra time and effort he could have been spending with other customers. And now, thanks to him again, my computer is working again, and boots up to the desktop normally. I appreciate the time and effort you spent with me to get it working again, Kevin. Now that's great customer service, and the mark of a great company. "
