"I can't complain about the service at the store other than they didn't have what I wanted in stock and I had to wait for it, but the wait wasn't long. I did run into several problems with the laminate flooring I bought. Pieces didn't want to stay together, there were so many bad pieces that I spent a few hours separating them to use the bad ones in concealed areas... things like chipped pieces, different thicknesses from one plank to the next, large blemishes, locking edges that were defective or totally missing, etc. It was my own fault that I didn't take the bad planks back to exchange them, but I always buy plenty more than I need of such items as I live so darn far from everything it's a real hassle if I have to go back.
What makes me really worry is that I did research and checked the bad reviews of their products and weighed it against all the good. What I've discovered is that they don't post many bad reviews at all, so a search on their site is skewed. I've tried twice to add a review about the product I purchased and followed all their guidelines for what wouldn't be appropriate to post. Nothing happened. No doubt it will never be posted unless I wrote one that praised their product. Buyer beware. "
"I went into Lumber Liquidators and they quickly greeted me asking how they could be of service. The sales associate took me through step by step addressing my concerns and ultimately helped me decide on which wood I was going to install and even gave me a discount! I used the recommended installer who gave me a FREE QUOTE and gave me a direct price which was helpful for my budget. The installer was extremely informed so i chose to use him. 3 months later, my floors are still looking amazing. Thank you LL!!"
"It wasn't until after we ordered 3000 sq ft of Tobacco Road Acacia solid hardwood that we began reading all the horror stories about LL. However, I will now say that none of them came true for us -- The manager at Store #1051 (Santa Ana, CA) was very helpful, accommodating and willing to negotiate. All three pallets were delivered within two weeks and the wood is beautiful (it might be nice if there were more longer pieces per box, but not a big deal). I will say, however, that the installer that LL recommended gave an extraordinarily high estimate and we went with a very reputable and more reasonable private contractor. Fortunately, we didn't have any of the problems others seem to experience -- maybe we got lucky or maybe the company is coming around."
"Warranty was worthless!
Prior to purchasing the wood, I made it clear to the sales person that I had experienced cupping (warping) of a wood floor that I had previously installed in my home (office room). This is typically the result of moisture coming up through the concrete slab. So I obviously did not want to have that same problem again with this new install (installed in two separate bedrooms). He guaranteed me that the glue that he was recommending had a moisture barrier mixed in it, that it was the best product on the market and that I should not have any problems. The clincher for me was when he said that if I did have problems, that I shouldn’t worry because the glue, wood, and install (used their LL recommended installer) were all under warranty.
In just 3 months after the install I could see the wood beginning to warp. After spending 8 months trying to get them to honor their warranty, I have given up. During that time I found out that thier installer was suppose to do a min. of 2 moisture tests (one in each room) on my floor prior to the install, especially since there was already evidence of moisture problems in the third room. He only did one test and that one was not even done to industry standard. I replaced the wood in the office room that I had the original problems and confirmed with the installer that there was moisture coming up through the slab. The bottom of the boards had black mold and mildew. I gave all this info to the LL customer service people and their reply was simply that the moisture test came back good and that the cupping was probably due to excess dryness. Excess drying is a condition that I have found out is more common in arid regions like Arizona not in humid South Florida. Also, since when has excess dryness caused mold and mildew?
The bottom line is I got nothing but the runaround and they did not honor their warranty as promised in their famous ads, which was the only reason I chose to go with them in the first place. If you decide to use them for your job, good luck if you have any problems with your floors.

""Brazilian Teak- These guys will tell you all you need to know if you spend the time with them. I sent approx 4 hours at their store during three visits ( after I picked out the floor) just to make sure we did it right and would have no problems. I did this because of the mixed reviews I had read about them.
Much to my disappointment even after doing everything they said, we still have flooring that is cracking ( no simple repair here) and after contacting them and sending some pictures ( that don't show much of anything " its tough in a picture") they did not even desire to come inspect. They simply send their standard computer generated letter stating " Once floor boards are inspected , approved by the end user and / or installer and installed, warranty coverage is no longer applicable because cracks and or splits may result from various external factors outside of the manufacturers control".
I wonder how much product they would sell if this policy was printed in the store for the consumer to see? Essentially they desire to wash there hands of any and all claims stating that after install they are not responsible? what about the warranties they so proudly sell? Funny they also can state within there computer generated letter that there is a moisture problem ( even without coming out and looking or checking with a meter " now that’s talent" ) we checked prior (with meter) and after and just yesterday and no moisture problems or issues and we did use MVP protection throughout as they recommended.
In closing feel free to contact me at ****@**** for more information but I advise you to avoid dealing with them at all costs. I am not an Irate customer just a very upset off one and I will be spending considerable time letting those trusting buyers know there business practices."

"Like everyone else said DO NOT BUY from them. I went to the store in East Brunswick, NJ and the same thing happened to us. Unfortunately by the time we noticed how defective the floor was we had installed 90% of the floor and only when the light hit it we noticed the problems. I went to the store and basically they laughed in my face and told me there's nothing they could do because we had installed the floor already. I threatened to take this to court and he laughed again and said we would never get anywhere. We called the 1-800# and Adrianne (who was very nice at the beginning) said she would send forms (which we filled out) and asked for pictures (which we sent) and she would take care of it. After this we were not able to speak to her again, only when my daughter called from her job was she able to get through but again only that one time. I guess once she sees our numbers she would just not answer it. Awful customer service!!!!!!! Liars, and thieves that's what they are. I finished the floor myself and looks 100% better than it did when I bought it. It's just a shame I did not read these reviews before I bought the product. I will never ever buy from them again and I will let everyone NOT to buy from the either."
"I purchased a bamboo click together flooring about 3 years ago, which has now been discontinued. A broken pipe fitting necessitated the replacement of a relatively small area this year. I was told by the local Oklahoma City store that the Lubbock store had enough for my job, and I agreed to pay the shipping costs upfront. They supposedly tried to contact the Lubbock store to no avail, and took my cell# 5 days ago. Three times I've called the store to check on it - still don't know if Lubbock was contacted and whether they still have enough of the product. If you call, they put you on hold long enough that you lose patience. Lousy, lousy service."
"I was working so I had a friend pick up my flooring from the Springfield, Va. Store. How astonished was I when I got home and discovered that every box was re-taped and or busted open. They refused to pick the product up and told me that I had to wait on their next truck delivery to get new materials. They offered to sell me upgraded flooring at discounted price for another two hundred bucks. I decided that was not a good deal and passed. That's not the end of it, I went to their Beltsville,Md. Store today and after a young lady got my order wrong she became extremely loud, rude and approached me a very aggressive manner repeatedly asking me what did I said as I was complaining to another employee about her attitude. Whatever you do stay away from thus company!"
"bought laminate for a 3 season sun room at the Railroad Ave store in Albany. They advised that laminate was the best choice for this room. the material had a lot of defects and a finish that is bubbled and scratched. the store informed us that they do not handle problems and gave us a 1-800 # to call. we called, they sent forms for us to fill out, asked for pictures, all of which we did. This was their reply to us. Lumber Liquidators is not responsible for us getting incorrect information from their sales person and laminate is not recommended for a sun room.!! the floor was in for ONE day when we called to ask about the issues with the floor.!! they continued to say because the room is not "climate controlled" the warranty is void. They also had originally told us to clean the floor with a damp cloth only. Now they said we need to use an acetone product. So because their company sales rep advised us to use laminate, sold us laminate and even gave us names to call to have it installed. We are not happy about having a new sun room and a defected floor due to their mistake, just to make a sale. Why would they sell us a product they new was not right for us and then say it is our fault. We had also gone prior to buying the floor to the home show where they had a booth and talked to the sales person and he showed us laminate and said it would be fine for a sunroom. We will look further into this and try to stop them from doing this to someone else. They are a large company and should stand by their products and their customers who where given bad information from someone who works for them. "
"Like most other reviews, bought the product and still waiting on it. Purchase date was April 30, 2011 and today is June 17, 2011. Terrible customer service the day I bought the flooring with 5 different employees "helping" me. I call the store (Harrisburg, PA) on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 and they tell me the product is at the store. Today, Friday, June 17, 2011 I drive 60 miles one way with a fuel guzzling truck and the guy tells me the flooring is not actually there, they must have looked at the wrong tag on another product when I called in. Frustrated and unhappy. Yes the pricing is good and the samples look nice...but as everyone else is reviewing, the worst customer service in the United States of America. You would think by now someone in the corporate office would be reading these terrible reviews, or maybe not, and that is why they are what they are."
"BEWARE OF LUMBER LIQUIDATORS!!!!! NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCTS ARE THE WORST QUALITY IN THE INDUSTRY. WE PAID OVER $10,000 TO HAVE BAMBOO FLOORS INSTALLED THROUGHOUT OUR HOME IN BRADENTON FLORIDA AND LESS THAN 6 MONTHS LATER THE WOOD WAS COMING UP, PITTING, CRACKING ETC. THE CONTRACTOR WHO INSTALLED THE WOOD SAID HE SAW THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO THE CUSTOMER HE INSTALLED BEFORE US ON THE SAME DAY. HE ALSO TOLD US LUMBAR LIQUIDATORS WAS GOING TO GIVE US A HARD TIME BECAUSE THEY GIVE ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS A HARD TIME. THE CONTRACTOR ADMITTED WE GOT A BAD BATCH OF WOOD AND NOW WE ARE FORCED TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY TO MAKE THIS VERY EXPENSIVE TRANSACTION RIGHT BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST. I AM NOT GOING TO STOP FIGHTING THIS BATTLE UNTIL THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND THE WORLD KNOW THE QUALITY OF LUMBER LIQUIDATORS PRODUCTS AND THEIR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE."
"We just installed solid hardwood floors by Bellawood. The wood is Brazilian chestnut, 3/8 thick x 3' wide. We installed direct on concrete, using the glue that they recomended. Well, about 2 weeks later, the floor started buckling. Yes, buckling all over the house.
We called the installer and he said it was not his fault but the wood. We talked to another professional and here's his questions:
Did the installer perform the humidity test on your slab?
Did he use the trout that comes on the glue bucket?
Did he sand the concret really well to get rid of any film (sometimes, when the house is being built, they spray paint the cabinets inside the house and that leaves a film on the concrete, not letting the float bond well with the concrete)? Did the wood aclimate well in the house? Did he do the a test to check the humidity of the wood? Did he use the trout that came on the glue bucket?
Well, I had to shut my mouth. The installer, that came highly recomended by builders, did not perform the tests and on top of that, used his ouwn trout. So, here's the thing: most installers lay foors well and know about engineered woods, but not a single thing about solid.
The installer is not taking reponsability on the job and blames on the wood. The person that came to my house also checked the wood, not finding any problem with it. His biggets job is to remove Bellawood solid floors from most homes in the Harrys County area. Now, here's why.
Begining with the seller, they want simply sell wood and don't care about anything else. The wood itself has no problem, but for this area we live (all the southern part of the US) is simply NOT recomended unless you install on the second floor. They don't even tell you to go with engineered floors if you plan on doing it on concrete. All they say is that "solid wood moves more than engineered' . Period.
The other thing is that they want to sell glue and they tell you that their prodcut is the best and it has a moisture barrier. True. It does, but it's simply not enough. The right way is actually lay ply wood on the floor and nail down the solid wood on top. But why should they not tell you that??? Well, if you do that, you will not by their glue...
So, bottom line: don't go with Lumber liquidators, unless you know everything about wood and has a more than specialized labor to take care of the job. If you go to any other wood seller, they will tell simply not to go with solid floors unless it's on the second floor.
We saw $15000,00 going down the pipe and no one takes responsability. My other recomendation is to go with a company and ask them to document every single step, begining with all the tests. Because if you want to claim later, that's the first thing that manufactures ask for: the tests. Also, photograph everything.
My last thing is about the aclimation period. When you buy the wood, you have to bring inside the house and let it sit there for 2 to 3 weeks before instaliing to aclimate. Well, we did that, but there is a better way of doing it and sellers don't tell you that. You have to line them on the floor free of humidity (best on top of dry plywood inside your home) and space them about a foot. Come with more on top, but go across, letting a lot of air to circulate. It's better to open the box, but if you do that, you cannot return if you have left over.
Good luck!

"Will not buy from this company again. Asked for moisture barrier and took the can home and installed. Turned out it was glue and I had to spend hours scraping it off the floor. Spent hours putting it down and taking it off. They would not compensate for the mistake THEY made in delivering the wrong product. Don't make the same mistake I did."
"The Kennewick store manager stepped up and has resolved our complaints. Our floor is beautiful."
"Bait and Switch! Bought 1400.00 worth of 3/8 engineered flooring at a bargain of 1.79 with the understanding I was buying a discontinued item as they only had 2750 ft2 left. Picked it up and got it home and the 1st 3 boxes of 25 were CR@P. Missing finish, through cracks, an myriad of different lengths. Marched back down there and the 1st 3 employees I encountered agreed I had damaged goods. When the manager finally came around he didn't see a problem. Said I bought seconds. I said no, I bought what was on display, no one ever mentioned 2nds. I thought I was buying new. He came close to losing a tooth I was so mad. He claimed the stamp on my receipt said Special order,no returns. At time of purchase, I asked about warranty and he said there was none. I said surely there is a warranty against defects, he said it was good flooring. Ok, my bad. Back to the return time: When I got into his face with customer's in the store, he agreed to take it back. I was livid and must have intimidated him. He credited my card. Called their customer service looking for the credit and the very polite lady said it would be a day or two which was fine. Once I explained why I didn't care to return to the store, she said I had a 5 year warranty. Well I guess the right hand doesn't know the left at L.L. Sorry Mr.Owner..but you've hired a Bait and Switch scam artist. "
