After passing the ship by date once and calling to have the status of my order updated being told it was dealt with after waiting 10 days and then two days later receiving an email notice that my order couldn’t be fulfilled after nearly two weeks after the order date. "I placed an order on Micro Center's web site on 4-24-2020, using a credit card. Early the next morning I got e-mail from them confirming the order and saying it would be shipped on 5-1-2020.
Gee, that's pretty slow, but OK.
Except 5-1-2020 comes and goes. By 5-5-2020 there has been no delivery, nor even an e-mail announcing that the item has been shipped.
It turns out there is no way to track your order on Micro Center's web site. You have to call their non-toll-free number.
The first time I called they played a recorded message and then hung up on me. When I called back I was kept on hold for 40 minutes before a person answered.
He looked into my order and then said there was a problem with my credit card. He needed me to read him the details.
Hmmm. The online-ordering web site seemed to think the card number was OK 11 days ago.
And I know they have my e-mail address -- not only did they send me the initial confirmation, but then they started sending me advertisements every other day. And they have my phone number -- I had to enter it when I placed my order, and it's shown on the confirmation e-mail. Why didn't they try to contact me and say they needed help with my credit card?
Apparently Micro Center was never going to reach out to me. If I had not called -- and waited on hold for 40 minutes -- this order never would have been fulfilled.
The person I talked to said the item is in stock and he'd have it shipped overnight to make up for the delay. So if it does arrive soon that will be a plus. But so far it's this experience has not made me eager to shop at Micro Center again."
