"Please avoid this retailer. I gave them one star because zero wasn't an option. I placed an order for an in-stock item on November 11. On November 23, the order still showed "confirmed/processing", so I contacted MHO. They responded with the following:

"We ask that you please allow approximately 7-10 business days from the date your order was placed for the items to leave our facility. We will e-mail you with tracking information when your order ships.

To request cancellation of an order, please provide us with the following information: your order number, billing and shipping address, and the last 4 digits of the credit/debit card used to place your order. Once we receive this information, your order will be canceled within 24 business hours.

Alternatively, you may call us at ***-***-****, Monday-Friday 8AM to 6PM CST.

Please note that there is a 15% cancellation fee for all non-firearm orders that are currently processing.

Thank you for contacting us and have a great day!

On November 30, I contacted them yet again since my order still showed "confirmed/processing". They responded with:

"Hi There,
This is Alyssa from Midwesthuntersoutlet.com, I am calling to advise you that your order has been cancelled, unfortunately the item is no longer available with any of our suppliers. I apologize for this inconvenience. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Alyssa Specht"

So 22 days after ordering an "in-stock" item, I find out that they actually don't have it and can't get it. If I hadn't contacted them, I have no idea how long it would have taken for them to tell me. I went to their website immediately and checked the item that I ordered and it still showed that it was "in-stock".

Don't believe anything this company tells you. They lie about having products in stock. They don't process orders or ship products in a timely manner. They charge you to cancel an order even if they haven't met their "7-10 day" guideline.

Save yourself the time and trouble and purchase from a reputable dealer.

"I was happy to find some Sun Mag polarized readers for my husband at Midwest Hunter's Outlet after a Google Search. I ordered on 11/26 & rec'd a prompt confirmation, with follow-up emails on 11/30 when the item shipped. I received the item today, 12/2, and everything looks good! They are a Christmas gift, so I hope they fit, and although he'll use them more in the summer I think he'll be happy! The price, with shipping was $26.94 total, way less than others I've purchased from L.L.Bean in years past. All in all I'm a very satisfied customer, and when I mention where I got them on Christmas, I'm sure my daughter's boyfriend (an avid hunter) will be happy to learn about this site for their other offerings!"

"Your shipping is much to slow, i ordered from Target Sports USA, and there order came quicker than yours and theres was ordered after the order placed from you. I will thick twice before entereing another order, I always try new vendors, but with todays competative business climate your shipping needs to get moving. "

"Tried to order a folding shovel. 10 days later the sent me an email saying they couldnt process my order, so I replied and told them just to cancel it. 5 days after that they sent me another email saying that my order had shipped. I checked my account and they never took the $ out. I checked the tracking info and the site said it couldnt locate any info for that number. Its been another 5 days and I have no idea what to expect...did they ever send the shovel? Why didnt they take the $ out? What the hell is going on there????"

"These guys do suck! I called to call my order (couldn't wait the ridiculous 7-10 days) and they charged me 15% fee to cancel my order! Unreal!!! What company does this? I called to complain and they would not budge. They have very poor business practices and are sure to fail. Do not support their business model of ripping you off after you realized you ordered an out of stock item that they advertise as being in stock. Scum bags!"

"My experience was good. The only thing I would note is that it took MHO/TGSCOM about a week to process my order; that's slower than sites like Amazon or eBay. Since it wasn't something I didn't needed urgently, it didn't matter."

"Midwest offers good prices compared to other online retailers but shipping is an issue. Even if the product is in stock it takes 7-10 business days (It is stated on their website) to ship it. Buying with them works only if you are doing your shopping with time in advance, if you need it right away I wouldn't recommed them."

"Painfully slow shipping. It takes a at least week for them to ship it if the item is in stock. My last order was placed on 11/14, and didn't ship until 11/23, and was an in stock item. Their prices are a little lower than elsewhere on some items, but I don't know if it's worth the long wait. I could better tolerate the slow shipping if it was free, but they charge as much as everyone else.

Also,they don't provide tracking information for gun orders, which seems odd. I'd like to know when it gets to my FFL.
