"I recently bought a Video Card for Monarch Computer. I never recieved it. They actually do not carry the item I ordered from them. I did not find out that they don't carry it because a week later I called them to see why my 3 day shipment had not been shipped yet. Their customer support is terrible. Today is 10/01/2006 I still have not been contacted or recieved any emails stating my refund is being processed. I would never recommend using this merchant, unless you want to buy something they don't have!"

"I urge you not to do business with this company. Once they have your money they forget what customer service is. I ordered 2 sticks of RAM, that were in stock, on Aug 9. I wanted to upgrade my brothers PC before he headed back to school on the 25th. I thought I had plenty of time. First of all they charged my credit card immediately. Which was very odd.
After 1 week of no status I called them and asked what was going on. The rep, named Kevin, said that they have a shipment comming in today and it should be shipped out this afternoon. That tells me that it was not in stock. I called again the next day and received the same answer, from the same rep even. Of course it didn't ship. A couple more days of this back and forth and it was now Aug 21th. I called to cancel the order.
To my shock I received the RAM on Aug 28, the week after my brother left. I called to return the RAM and they said I will be charged a 15% restocking fee and only get store credit. What is wrong with this company. I have to pay for their mistake. I ended up selling the RAM on ebay. I would rather lose some money then give this company another chance to take more from me. Please stay away from this company. Yes the prices are good, but when the service is bad, its really bad."

I had a highly unsatisfactory experience - actually, twice within the past 3 months -- with Monarch. And unless they get their act together, I will not shop here again. Ever. Period! And I certainly would not recommend them to others either. Furthermore, I notified all my clients that I previously referred to them not to use Monarch for anything until Monarch can significantly improve their current business practices. Yes. Monarch is really that bad.
Basically, they had a WD Raptor HD listed as 'in stock ... unusually ships in 2 to 3 business days' on their web site when I placed my order. This was very early AM on Mon, Jul 17th. My CC was charged immediately - and the payment posted on 7/18/2006. However, when I checked my order status on Friday (7/19 thru 7/21) is was still listed as 'order was sent to warehouse for shipping etc...'. Well, come 7/24, still no update & my order was still not shipped yet. Nor did I receive anything from Monarch that there was a problem. Not one word .. even just a courtesy e-mail to let me know what my status was and what I could expect. Mind you – the whole time this is going on -- the item I ordered was STILL listed as 'In Stock .. Ships in 2 ~ 3 days' as before. At this point, I had to e-mail Monarch several times over a few days for a definite answer on my order. And it was not until I sent out at least three e-mails to three separate addresses -- and threatened to contact my CC company & Better Business Bureau in GA (and anyone else that would help me) -- that I finally got a solid answer that my HD would ship out on 7/26 for sure. I did finally receive my HD on 7/28.
My 1st experience was not much different either. It took all week for an in stock item just to ship out (while my CC was charged immediately).
IMO, there is no reason for a reseller to conduct business like this. None. I am very upset that I had to waste my time chasing them down just to get the in-stock item I paid for over a week ago!!! I cannot believe such a company would treat their customers like this. Monarch: you should be ashamed!!!
I would suggest people AVOID Monarch like the PLAGUE until they can get their act together and get back to the way they operated before.
All in all: a TERRIBLE experience with Monarch. Stay away!!!"

Customer Service seems nice but they dont actualy help.
They are quick to bill card but very slow to refund.
Took forever to get my order shipped.
Return Policy is stupid, purchased a Motherboard did not work they will not refund and will not take for in store credit even.
For the love of god do not use this company!!!

Received call from CS Manager Niki.
She did the most she could do to resolve the issues that I had with the company. While, I still do not believe some of the practices employed by this company are in-correct, they were able to satisfactorily address and resolved my issues.
While the company has several things that internally need to be addressed and fixed the fact remains that they have some of the lowest prices and my past dealings with them has never had the issues I experienced.
The issues I see that need fixing.
1. Return Policy. For parts that ARE DOA they should stand behind the product and replace defective parts that shipped defective. If a customer calls the next day and a part is DOA then they should replace the product. I don’t have my customers seek a vendor they have no relationship with I have them see me.
2. Automation. Some of the confusion is the lack of automation. One of my complaints was the length of time it takes to get a refund. As of this date all I have received was a verbal confirmation that my refund has been processed (Bank still have not posted the credit).
3. Refining website to make site easier and more responsive to people.
4. Billing of credit card before item ships. This one simple change can reduce the number of complaints on this company. When items are billed before shipping it makes it hard to allow a person to cancel the order without the 15-30 Day refund wait period the company has. They explained the 15-30 day wait for refunds and I can understand why they do it. However, if they change when the order ships it allows the one big complaint I see the refund of cash before order ships to vanish. Most credit cards allow you to hold the funds.
To be very honest if it were not for the outstanding work of Niki my view of the company would not have changed and I would not be inclined to give them one more shot at future business.

"well i bought a case from monarch on 9/12. Case sat at warehouse for 5 business days. I email them to inquire on situation, and good on their part, they replied within 24 hours. Later they CALLED to tell me the lone case they had was damaged and they are not getting any more stock. So now i have sent my email to cancel my order. From the look of things, i shouldnt be holding my breathe to get my refund anytime soon. I will keep posted
EDIT 9/26: well my order was cancelled, and now they have ignored my numerous emails asking for the time frame for my refund. I will wait out the 30 days. If still no refund, I'm sure paypal and my bank will have no problem dealing with Monarch"

"I ordered a motherboard chip set on 9-05-06. It said it would take a few days to be build and tested. Then would be shipped out. I waited till the 9-12-06.I the tried to track the order. There was nothing on there web page. Just my order number. So I filled out the form to get e-mailed info on the order status. No return. So I then e-mailed them. No return. So I filled out the form one more time. Still nothing. I then called on 9-18-06. I talked to a customer service rep. He was very short with me but said it would be shipped out that day. I would be sent a confirmation number to track the shipment. As you can guess there was no e-mail sent to me. There web page also was not updated. So I'm guessing it still has not been sent.
I recived a e-mail from monarch founder. He has taken care of the issue. Says it will be mailed out 9-20-06. He upgraded my shipping cost for free.

I was contacted today by Monarch computers, what they had to say was that my refund had been processed, and the problem was with their credit card processing company.
I placed an order with Monarch computers before the AMD 4800s were on sale, but they had them onsale already. I later, the next day, checked back and noticed them to be back ordered. So I cancelled the order. I have yet to get my money back and the order was placed 7/23 and cancelled 7/24. I have called them 8 times now and written them a few times. There is no reson a company should hold on to fund for a cancellation this long."
"I ordered a video card on July 14th, canceled my order on the 15th (a Saturday). My credit card was charged 216.77 on Monday, the same day I got an email stating that it was canceled. Being that they advertise in all the major PC magazines I didn't think it would be a big deal to get my money back. It's Sept 18th now and I'm still waiting for my money to be returned.

"Initial processing of order went well. RMA was required for one piece and was accepted rapidly. However, the follow-through processing of actually receiving the credit took a lot longer (several weeks). The company made a strong effort by contacting me directly on several occassions and finally followed through. It took about 8 weeks from initial order to completion of all associated credits. I will go back based on their "last minute" efforts to make things right."
