Quick to charge for cross-ship, don't credit upon acknowledged return. I purchased a loaded soecial edition Monarch Hornet Pro 2 years ago. I've only had two service problems; 1) power supply died, 2) one of a pair of drives in Raid 1 configuration failed. Both times, I did cross-ship to minimize downtime. Card was charged immediately, and parts arrived reasonably quickly. I returned the damaged parts, received a confirming e-mail that they had been received and that my credit card would be credited, but that might take 30 days. Not great, but they were upfront. Well, 30 days came and went, no credit. I e-mailed in reply to a specific return acknowledgement, to a valid e-mail address. Waited 3 business days. No reply. I called. Was sent to "accounting". Got a voice-mail. Left name, phone & e-mail contact info, RMA info. Waited 2 days. No return call or e-mail. Called again. Again got voice-mail. Left message, No reply. Have now made 5 calls. Have requested direct connection to accounting manager, then controller. Always get transferred to "accounting" and get voice-mail. Not once, have my calls even been acknowleged. Now 8 weeks and no credit. Sent an e-mail to sales, figuring that if they can't fix it, they could at least rattle a cage. I'm about to replace 3 systems, two of which will be top-of-line gaming rigs (i.e. high margin). Not even an acknowledgement.
I have given Monarch high ratings in the past on customer satisfaction surverys. NO MORE. These folks have left for luch and aren't coming back apparently.
So, they will get this rant here, and other places, and on blogs. I'll come back and update if they ever respond. Meantime, I'm filing a BBB complaint and a credit card claim that I hope will cause holds to be placed on other credit card orders to them, etc.
I'm really not an impatient person. If they had even acknowledged that things were backed up, I might have given them some benefit of the doubt. As things stand, I smell a rat that makes me think there are financial problems at Monarch. I wouldn't send them any money if I were you."
"When I placed this order I used a RMA that I had for $134.99. The credit was not and has not issued although I have a e-mail dated 7/12/06 acknowledging the credit.
I was told approx. 30 days ago that a backordered 5.99 t-shirt on my order was why the RMA was not issued. I asked that the t-shirt be canceled and that the credit be issued. I have left 5 messages to the credit department in the last week with no response.
i didn receive the part but not the credit. Last time I will ever deal with them."
"I ordered a server from Monarch previously and it took almost 3 months to recieve the order with multiple issues from them regarding billing, etc.
I figured that ordering components from them would be faster, however my order shows as in stock, but it has been 9 days with no status change. I have completed their online order status request form and sent them an e-mail. I have not heard back from either attempt to contact them to ascertain the status of my order.
Use ... or really any other retailer. I have had horrible experiences buying from Monarch Computer."

I placed my order for a system on the 16th of august, it said on the web that they were going to be shipped out in a week or 2 days, This company shipped it the SECOND DAY of my order and i had it 2 days later, so by the 21st of August, i was up and running playing Halo 2, WOW, Quake 4 and all of my other games. "Im a 3D artist and Im also a gamer. So I needed a machine that has a great videocard, fast CPU, and a lot of RAM. A fellow gamer recommended Monarch Computers because I only custom build my machines, previously from Newegg. After putting the same system together on Monarch's website my total was about $200 cheaper than Newegg (same system specs). I purchased a new custom built Athlon 64 x2 (5000+) machine from Monarch. My motherboard arrived with my selected CPU,heatsink fan and RAM already installed. All I had to do was attach the motherboard to my new case. Couldn't have been any easier.
If you're new custom building a machine, I would definitely start at Monarch."

"Ugh. I'd rather stick a red-hot poker in my eye than deal with Monarch ever again.
I ordered an Intel CPU and two 1GB memory sticks from their Website. Sent an email query about the memory sticks right after ordering; no answer (ever). A week later, sent an email query about the order; no answer (ever). Finally, I sent an email canceling the order, and got back a very terse response that they couldn't, because it had already shipped. Replied requesting date of shipment and tracking number. Their response: shipping date was the _next day_.
Order arrives; one of the memory sticks was DOA. Sent email; no response. Phoned: Because I didn't buy their $17 "warranty" they couldn't replace the stick, and referred me to the manufacturer.
Bottom line: Worst. Retail. Shopping. Experience. Ever. Bar none."

"I ordered some parts for about $1,096.70 on July 20th and was charged that same day. This same order was cancelled by them on the 24th. I called to ask about the refund and I was told to wait for a billing cycle (30 days) to get my refund. I thought OK, no problem.
It's been 45 days since I placed the order and 40 since cancellation, 8 phone calls without an answer and about 10 email asking for the status about this issue. No joy yet.
I hope somebody will contact me to resolve this situation.
UPDATE: THE WORST DEAL I HAVE EVER DONE !!!
Its's been 55 days and still no refund, no email response, no telephone contact with a live person.
