"Placed an order on March 16, 2006 for a twin pair of RAM. Received the RAM and only had 1 DIMM open, so I sent back the RAM and recieved RMA credit for $77.82 that was good for one year. Placed an order for RAM for my MacBook Pro for $84.59 on July 15, 2006.
I had correctly noted my RMA credit in the appropriate text input field and even recieved an e-mail noting that my RMA credit was being applied and refunded back to me on July 26th. It has been over a month with no refund, so I send two customer support e-mails on August 20th and 25th. I have just sent another one on September 1st noting my situation. I have even left a phone message on their customer support line when an automated machine told me to leave my information, not even a real human being.
Monarch used to have great reviews and customer support, but now everything has gone downhill. They took $160+ from me for a $80 RAM module. If I do not receive a response by this upcoming Monday, I will file a hefty complaint with the Better Business Bureau."

I pre-ordered a new Intel core 2 duo CPU from them. (a cpu they did not have in stock I might add)They had a ETA ship date that it will ship before or on that date. They changed the ship date a few days before that date By over full two weeks. Despite a big bold red “we will notify you if the date changes” They did not notify me of this date change. I discovered it my self by revisiting their web page for the item. This very same CPU became available am in stock else where ther for I canceled my order. I of course bought the CPU else where and had it in my hands in a matter of a few days.
Of course everything seems to be by email. I submitted my request for the order to be canceled on 8/6 as well as complaining about not being notified about the date change. and after responding to their email on 8/7. (Also of note shortly after their reps response
like minutes after I received notice about the shipping date change rolls eyes, sighs).
The order status on their website had changed to canceled when I checked on 8/8. They didn’t even notify me they had in fact canceled I had to check the order status on their website to see that.
I emailed them again this time asking the status of my refund. There no response surprising when they responded with in 24 hours regarding my order and cancellation.
So I emailed them a second time. No response again. So I began to read up on this company and searched their seller ratings for cancel and refund. I was surprised to see an alarming number of people complaining that they had to dispute the charges to get just their money back. As emailing and calling gets you no where. Also shocking to find
They trick you in regards to the reseller status on their site. Saying they have top ten ratings when in fact they have below average ratings. Which is false but they do state
it’s from a certain date.
Since then I sent them yet another email. This time sent to both their order department and their support department. Again asking for the status of my refund and that I will be seeking information from my credit card Company about disputing the charge. That and
I will have to dispute the charge if they don’t give me my money back. Again they
chose not respond. It’s now been weeks with no answers and no refund.
As of 9/1 I’ve submitted the dispute forms to my credit card company

"The part was ordered and the sale was charged to my credit card. Four days has passed even though I paid for 2nd day shipping. I checked my card to see if it was credited. It was not after the notification from the sales staff.
It is 9/11/2006 and the credit still has not applied. I will have to update the BBB report I have filed to ensure the record is updated appropriately."
"I placed an order for a stick of memory on 8/16. Monarch charges my CC immediately and the following day updates my status to being sent to the warehouse for packaging and mailing. I wait 2 weeks and nothing. I email them through their "questions about your order form" and no reply. I finally send them an email directly at ****@**** and the reply on 8/30 is "Your order should be shipping tomorrow or friday, barring any issues. Thank You for your order and your patience." Why was I never informed that it was to be back ordered. I have bought a lot of stuff from them and have recommended them to others because their prices are the same or cheaper than newegg and they're not based in CA so I don't have to pay taxes. Never again will I order from Monarch, I'd rather pay the high sales tax at newegg.
Update: Contacted them again on 9/5 and spent 15 minutes on the phone waiting for the rep to find out what was wrong with my order. Finally was told order would ship out that day, because a huge order of the RAM had came in on the previous Friday. I told rep I wanted a tracking number and was told I'd be called back with tracking number, rep took down my contact and no reply as of 9/12. I'm guessing they don't have it, even though stock has shown that item ships in 3-5 days since the day I ordered. Rebate expired on 9/1 and postmark deadline was 9/10.
Update 2: Contacted them again right after the second update to see what they had to say. CSR said the shipping label was messed up so package was returned to Monarch. CSR said it was Monarch's fault. I stated my case and CSR apologized and promised it would be sent out right away. Next day I receive overnight package from OCZ. I guess they ordered and request direct ship. Monarch tried to make up for everything with a free tshirt, amd stickers, and a pen. I'm still dissatisfied because I spent over an hour on the phone and could not submit my rebate. Just wanted to be fair with Monarch since they did come through."
"The first strange thing was that they billed my credit card in full 29 days in advance of shipping. I let this one slide.
Recently a motherboard failed. I paid extra for a 3 year warranty on parts. It was fairly difficult to get a hold of anyone to handle the warranty but using their online chat and e-mail I was able to get a new board sent. When the new board arrived it was the wrong one shipped in the right box. They then sent the right board and billed my card for both boards. I was told to return both at the same time and that I would receive credit for both boards. I eventually received an e-mail saying that my credit card would be credited but that I needed to wait up to 30 days for the transaction to occur. After 30 days the credit did not appear. I eventually got a hold of someone in the accounting department who had no explanation for what had happened. I was told that it would be taken care of immediately. A week later there is still no credit. These people have had my money since June. Now the accounting department will not answer the phone or respond to my messages. I have since reported this to my credit card company and will dispute the charges.
I will not buy anything else from these people and urge other people to be wary. I’m just glad that I’m not into them for a larger amount.
As of 9-11-06 I still have not received my credit. I have noticed several new postings by "satisfied” customers that I suspect are fake. There is not much detail on the transactions and none of them have successfully received a credit for cancelled or returned merchandise. You can check this company out with the Better Business Bureau www.bbb.org You will find they have the following rating:
“Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaint(s).”
Look at all the bad ratings here and the BB rating and make your own judgment. Who do you believe?

"Well all I can say is never have a problem with you order with this company... here is a brief summary of the events.
Basically on July 10th I ordered $570 of stuff from Monarch then due to not having changed my my bill address since I recently relocated they could not ship the items since I payed via paypal and could only ship to a confirmed address. Rather than pay double shipping I asked them to cancel my order and I would reorder via CC. Unfortunately this is were things went south quick. As they e-mailed me informing me that they could only ship to a confirmed paypal address... I replyed with ok cancel my order.... then nothing.... nothing.... nothing.... So I e-mail to confirm that my order was canceled and going to be refunded.... no response.. finally after a week I call... guy who answers the phone says ya ya... I see we've canceled your order... I ask so will you be refunding my paypal... he says... yes but we reserve the right to take up to 30 days to process... seemed pretty standard... so I though ok... like I said my order was canceled on July 10th...as you all know it is now Aug. 30th...
To this day I have not even received an e-mail that offically stated my order was even canceled much a less a date of expected refund etc... Since my initial call I've called 3 addition times... once I got the same answer as previous... the last 2 I've been refered to "Accounting" which when transfered equals an answering machine that asks you for your isssue and order #... which I've left twice.
Still to this day Monarch has not attempted to contact me in anyway.... nor refunded my money.... I almost get the impression that they think if they hold out long enough or something I'll just give up and they can just keep my money... I have to say I've never been snubbed this bad by anyone who wants to stay in business. I guess they have decent deals and ppl are willing to risk BS like this... but I hope some ppl take my warning... based on this experence pray there are no "hang ups" in your order... or forget about any kinda of customer service or timely closure"
"Item was in a cardboard box, not the retail box. It didn't come with any cables, manuals or software. It took them 7 days (5 business days) to ship the item, and it was packed poorly. I'm not satisfied with my experience and will never order from them again."

"I bought 2 sticks of memory from them on 8/9. Received the auto responce with the order number.They charged my credit card right away. Thats the last i've herd from them. No tracking number , no out of stock nothification, nothing. Finally couple days ago 8/23 i sen them and email and never received any responced , the next day I emailed them again, same thing no responce. So today 8/25 i called them. The guy on the phone told me that they didnt have that memotry in stock b4 and now they do so they will send it tome. Now their support email address has a spam blocker on it bouncing ALL mail. Stay away unless you want someone to take your money and take their sweet time about shipping. I had to dispute through my credit card company to get my money back from these jerks."

"I've shopped at Monarch for years and for the most part they were like most etailers, slow to ship but most orders arrived in a timely fashion. Lately, Monarch has really gone downhill. I made an order, credit card was charged immediately. For the next 5 days I kept getting a single email stating that they couldn't verify my billing address. I contacted my credit card company and everything was correct. But that still raises the flag of, if you can't verify the address why did you still charge the card?
I cancelled my order, which never even made it to their warehouse. It has now been 40 days and I still have not received a chargeback on my credit card. That is absolutely rediculous.
Buyer beware, if you have any problems with your order, Monarch will never help you out. Good luck getting them on the phone, and if you do, they are completely unhelpful and rude. Emails will go unanswered unless it is one they can just throw back with a form letter.

"I am a custom computer builder. For quite a while now I have been using Monarch Computer Systems to order components from. They have always been speedy and have had very-good if not the best prices. My last order was an ATI (HIS) Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3/PCI-E/AVIVO/Dual-DVI-DL (Retail Box) with a retail price of $365.69 Which at that point, that was the best price for a 512mb card. Then I find out 8-23-06 that the card is dicontinued. THEY DECIDED TO GIVE ME THE NEXT CARD UP AT THE SAME PRICE! That being a HIS X1900XT IceQ3 Dual DL-DVI VIVO 512MB PCIe which retails for over $500. How awesome is that. My thanks goes out to David H. who straightened everything out. So in Summary: One hell of a company. Keeps things simple, cost efficient, and quick; and if there is something that goes wrong, they will right the wrong. Thanks agian Monarch Computer Systems!!! You're my company through and through!!"
