"I'll be purchasing my PCs from this company in the future. Barebone system configured professionally and great wire management. Stay out of tech support forums and order configurations pre-assembled and tested. Monarch's prices, including assembly and testing, are cheap by pricewatch standards. I called the company and got a real person on the phone within one or two rings first time. OUTSTANDING customer service. It's either these guys or New Egg for stuff I can't find at Monarch. Once you find a good company that's it--like finding a good auto mechanic. The only configurator I could find online with Lian Li or Silverstone cases."

Not only did they deliver the parts that I ordered in time, but the custumer service was very efficient, and timely. Even though I was sent the wrong part by mistake, Monarch Computer came through, and speedily rectified the mistake by mailing the right part by 2 day fed ex. "I run a streamlined IT business with a few partners, and I cannot under ANY circumstances accept bad business from my distributors. I expect courtesy and respect given to me as a customer, and in return I will respect and conduct more business with the distributor. Late orders, or problems with returns, or lack of communication DOES NOT constitute GOOD BUSINESS.

I have been trying to return a DOA 3Ware Escalade RAID card since the end of last year/beginning of this year, and MonarchComputer's customer service is pretty much NIL. I sent many emails, and made a few phone calls, but there is no reply. About 2 weeks ago, I got an email detailing that I am outside of the return range, which is _15_days_from_invoice_. Given MonarchComputer's EXTREMELY SLOW handling/shipping, and slow ground shipping, by the time the product gets to you, you pretty much only have a day or two to test it. What a sham! Of course, given their slow response to emails/calls, it puts you conveniently outside of the return period!

I never got another email from them, and never have had a phone call as I requested in 2 voice mails left on their system.

Did I mention they charge your card extremely fast after your order placement? Why do they care so much about grabbing the money, only to run with it and avoid the customer thereafter?

Don't bother emailing or calling them, you won't get a reply!

My partners and I on our seperate accounts gross a minimum of $20,000USD/month on MonarchComputer, and often much more. We're going to take our business elsewhere now. The few bucks saved is not worth the headache!

I'm taking this to my credit card company.

UPDATE 02/23/2006

Well, it's finally taken cared of. I spoke to Sterling and he gave me a full refund on the 3Ware card. There were more speed bumps along the way though, as after I RMA'd it back, it took them a while to open the box, then the RMA people botched the refund (or rather forgot about it). I got an email saying I'd get refunded in 3 days on 01/26/2006, and waited the longest time with no refund. I called Sterling again and he apparently executed a few people, and got the refund through, and it appeared in my bank account a few days ago.

Throughout this crazy ordeal, I've found that Sterling is willing to work with customers, but then again he shouldn't have to, to begin with. Obviously the RMA process is really broken at Monarch, and it needs to be fixed right away. I'm somewhat satisfied, now that I've got my refund. Sterling seems like a good guy, but until Monarch fixes their return and RMA processes, one should be wary; only buy what you know you won't want to return.

"I ordered a motherboard (Gigabyte GA-K8U) on Tuesday morning (10th). Since I wanted the motherboard by weekend, I paid extra for 2nd day delivery. Well, my credit card was charged imediately, but I keep waiting and waiting for them to ship the package. I emailed them and also used their online form they have .... but no response. They never contacted me to explain the delay. Friday (13th) comes and I see that the item is "out of stock" ETA: Jan 25th!!!! on their website. So I pick up the phone and call them to cancel the order, they tell me I have to do it online and it takes 3-5 days to process. I call again to see why they didn't notify me if they did't have the item in stock. They said it is in stock and will be shipped soon. After 4-5 phone calls they finally ship the package on Friday night, which means I didn't get the package till Tuesday (17th).

Ok, I open the package and the anti static bag is kinda wrinkly. ooookkk.... happens sometimes. I take the board out; It's OBVIOUS the board has been used before. It even had FINGERPRINTS on the battery, CPU lever, etc. I install the processor and everything hoping it works because I need my computer up and running ASAP. BEEEEEEP BEEP BEEP. Look it up in the manual. Video card problem. My 9600PRO works perfectly on my other system, I tried it again just to make sure. Yep its not the card. It's the freakin motherboard.

Avoid this company. The only reason I ordered from them was because n*w*gg and ZZF were out of stock. Atleast they were honest enough to tell people they are out of stock. Customer service people were rather rude. and after all that I get a USED, DEFECTIVE board.

Update: MonarchComputer contacted me this morning (20th) and we're working this out.

"I returned a unopened Opteron 148 cpu under RMA 27037. The RMA credit was supposed to have been applied after I placed the above order for some memory. In fact I received an email stating that
they were in the process of applying my credit.
When I received my credit card statement, the charge for the memory was there, but the credit (approx. $200) wasn't. I contacted monarch and they said that due to the holidays, they missed applying the credit owed me. The rep said he'd send off an email to get my credit issued to me (conversation approx. 1/9/06). As of 1/15/06, no credit was on my account. I shot off a email inquiry to see what the delay was and received a brief response that credit was applied on 1/16/06. I checked my online statement today and still do not see any credit to my account. I'm not sure what to think of Monarch at this time. I'm not a rich guy who can afford to wait on $200. Hopefull, I see my credit soon. At this point, I'm holding off on placing any more orders with them.

"update: Sean from Monarch called me and investigated the matter. He found out that for some reason somewhere there was a delay in the refund. However, I've finally received my refund thanks to Sean! I applaud him for going the extra mile to right a wrong.

Purchased RAM and a Hard Drive from them and paid through paypal. A few days later I received a message saying that the HD was out of stock and it would be removed from my order and my card would be credited. I never received a credit in my paypal account or my credit card that was used with it.

I emailed them twice since then and have received no response or explanation as to why I have yet to be refunded.

"Monarch is a first class place. As a Computer Tech I need to build systems at a quick pace. When a person can go out to a retail store and have a system going the next day. I ordered a motherboard combo that claimed to ship in 3-5 days according to the website. After 10 days I emailed the company and next day I got a response saying that they were running behind schedule. I was not happy and then I saw on the website that they were now out of stock on the motherboard I had ordered and it would be another 2 weeks before I would get my order. I was steaming mad but a friend had said that monarch was a 1st class place and that they would listen and work with me. So I wrote a email explaining my problem. As it turns out, as I was writing my letter and trying to make other arrangements. Monarch had finished,tested, and was shipping my order. Now granted I didn't get my order in the 3-5 day period as stated but I had placed the order after the xmas holiday and when I placed the order I expected a minor delay. So I am awaiting my package and I would do business with Monarch again because When I had a problem they were on to of the matter. "
