They showed no concern about this order until they learned of my original posting here. And even then, their concern wasn't about their problems with the order, it was about getting the posting removed. Even went so far as to threaten to sue me. "Wonderful experience from beginning to end. Designing the computer I wanted was easy, and a Monarch rep even swapped out a drive that I ordered that was a different color than the case. It may have been a small detail, but it shows that if Monarch won't let the small things pass, then a big problem will certainly be discovered. "It stunk. Plain and simply put. I ordered the A8N32-sli mobo from them and told them to ship to my school. No problem with other sites doing this. Got email saying they couldn't, nto valid shipping according to AMex, but reply saying its ok and they will talk to Amex and send it out. Did so. No issue there. 5 days later same email, again and again I reply. Talk to person on the phone and no help there. Absolutly no help, with the exception of letting me cancel the order, free of charge (as far as I yet know) but called Amex and made sure it was cancelled. No trust for this company, and their customer service is horrendous."

The prices are better than other places and they don't overcharge for shipping and it gets to you on time!! "I placed an order with Monarch on Sunday, January 8th, with two day shipping with the intention that I would receive my parts for the holiday weekend. On Monday, January 9th, I received an email stating that my card address was being verified, followed shortly thereafter by an email informing me that the order was being sent to the warehouse for fulfillment. My credit card was charged for the full amount, so I understandably was under the impression that the entire order was shipping imminently. But after that email, nothing.
By midday Tuesday I was a bit worried as to why the order had not yet shipped, so I went through the website again and confirmed that each item on my order was listed as in-stock and ready to ship. On Wednesday, January 11th, I used the order status form to inquire as to the nature of the delay with my order. I received no response.
Today, Thursday, January 12th, I called Monarch to determine once and for all why my order hadn't shipped. I was informed that the ATI HDTV Wonder video card from my order was out of stock, not expected in until January 30th, and that the other $1500 of my order was gathering dust waiting on that single part.
Again, the video card was listed as in stock when I placed my order and as late as Tuesday afternoon. I did not receive any notification that the video card was out of stock, nor did I receive a reply from the emailed order status inquiry form. I had to take up the initative to call in order to find out that the part was out of stock and that my entire order was being held up because of that. If I hadn't made that call, I fully believe that they would have kept the full $1600+ payment without even making a good faith effort to deliver the vast majority of the order in a timely manner OR even informing me of the delay.
Inexcusably poor stock managment, charging the full purchase price without shipping immediately, not keeping the customer adequately informed of problems with their order: these are not business practices that I want to encourage in a retailer, and so I highly doubt I will ever shop at Monarch again.
Edit 1 - 01/17/2006: After the initial review, I was contacted very quickly by Sterling @ Monarch. He physically went to the warehouse and located the component that I had been informed was out of stock. He then upgraded my order to Priority Overnight free of charge to ensure that I received it by the weekend. The full order did arrive as promised, and Sterling fulfilled every commitment he made to me. I am still dissatisfied with my initial Monarch experience, but the company and Sterling in particular reacted to my displeasure with a genuine desire to make things right, and because of that, I will give Monarch another chance - definitely in the non-holiday season, however.
PS - One of the hard drives I ordered was DOA, so it will need to be RMAd. I will update the review with my experiences with the RMA as well."
"I ordered 3 memory sticks 512MB on August 24 with 2nd day delivery option. I received them only September 5. The sticks were defective. Could not replace them or get a refund. Very mean service.

"I find the customer service at Monarch Computer incredibly lacking. I ordered a part and they requested that I update my shipping address with credit card company which I did that same day. I called Monarch 6 days later to find that the item still has not shipped out and that it MAY ship out the next day. Since I needed the part ASAP I started looking elsewhere. I found the part elsewhere and placed an order. I called Monarch Computers back to ask them to cancel my order and they told me I would have to go online to do so. I asked since I had them on the phone why cant they do it now? Their reply was that was the way they did it there. It amazes that they advertise that they have such a tremendous rating thru Resellerratings.com when compared to such companies such as Gateway or Dell. I've ordered computers and parts through Gateway and have never had problems with them. I've done the same with Dell and had just minor issues which they quickly rectified. Monarch Computer will not be considered as a possible supplier in any future purchases.
UPDATE: I posted a comment on 1/10/06 10:11 AM about Monarch Computer's lack of customer service. Monarch Computer responded at 1/16/06 9:31 AM saying... "We have more than a few times tried to contact you, and can not".
The only time they contacted me (via email) was right after I entered my order and Monarch Computer wanted me to update my shipping address with the credit card company. I did as they requested and responded to their email that same day so they could release my order.
Monarch Computer NEVER contacted me about my order as they claim. They had my direct phone line at work and also my home phone number. I never received any messages about the delay of my order nor any request to contact them. The only times I heard from Monarch Computer were when they responded to my email inquiry and when I called them directly about my order.
Their response further shows a lack of honesty and/or ethics. "
"This was my first experience with Monarch Computer Systems. Order process and shipping to me were fine. I ordered a video card which did not work in the system I was using.
I called the video card company's support and Monarch and both agreed that the card might be defective. I decided to return it for exchange via Monarch. That is when the problems began. The card has been at Monarch since 1/4/06 and it is now 1/10/05 and they still have not "recieved it" into their system.
Numerous calls have resulted in answers from "It takes 2-3 days" to "We are really backed up from the holidays and don't have any idea how long it will take". This is ridiculous. Is this their first holiday season in business?
After posting this review, I was able to get the card shipped the day of posting the review. Got it and everything is working great. Seems they do monitor their ratings here. All in all they did a great job resolving the problem once I posted here."
