"This is my second order from Monarch Computer. The first order they sent me and email stating that my shipping address was not registered with my credit card company. It took 3 days for them to approve the address. I only put this on to make others aware of this process. FYI, I have had that shippiing address registered with the credit card company for 3 years. Then I waited for what seemed like an unreasonable amount of time and finally they sent me the tracking information. To there credit they did send it 2nd day for no additional cost. The first order took over a week to get. I figured that this was an isolated event. I ordered again from Monarch Computer the very next day. Guess what an email that said they couldn't verify my shipping address. It has been a few days and I have yet to receive tracking information. I think the prices are very good, but the communication and shipping verification needs to be a redone. I haven't ordered without an alternate shipping address, so I don't know if this happens a lot. I did recieve all the stuff from the first order and everything was in working order. If I need to use my alternate shipping address I will not order from Monarch Computers. One minor glitch – received an e-mail saying that shipping address, which is different than billing address, was not verified. I responded by e-mail and problem solved. "Monarch seems to have the best pricest for those that live in CA and don't want to pay sales tax at other online stores. I ordered the majority of a new system (video card, CPU and motherboard) and the morning of my purchase, I added a shipping address to my credit card. After I placed the order in the afternoon, I received an email stating that my "order is on hold because we were unable to verify the shipping address with your card issuer." I called my credit card company and verified that the shipping address was added, then sent an email to Monarch stating that there is a valid address on there and to please verify again. An hour later, I got confirmation that my order has been confirmed, and it would be 1-2 business days processing. It was a Thursday when I ordered. They shipped it the next TUESDAY, when they should've shipped it Monday. However, they did upgrade me to 2-day shipping for their slow processing. All the while, however, I had emailed through the form on their site on Tuesday when I did not receive an email stating it was shipped to inquire what was up. All I got was the standard email response that they received my inquiry. It was an email from FedEx on Tuesday stating that my order was picked up and due on Thursday. A day later, Monarch's email came. Anyway, my only real beef is their canned email autoresponders. A live person would be nice with just a "hey your order is still processing" email to separate them from the other online places. Packaging was excellent and secure, website is easy to navigate."
"I ordered 2 drives from Monarch, and both were delivered DOA. Monarch wants a restocking fee to refund the drives. I have these 1 day. I wanted to purchase 2 identical drives, and have them shipped today so I don't have to wait as long for the exchange to take place, I need these for a project. I wanted Monarch to just refund me when they got these drives back, but they said they would have to charge a restocking fee.
I just spent over $2000 with Monarch over the past weeks, and I am really feeling like a fool. I will never shop here again.

Monarch did break the rules and give me a full refund on these drives, and asked today (Nov 18) if there was anything else they could do. I said; "yes, change the Monarch DOA policy!"

"I ordered a motherboard/CPU/RAM combo and various other components (including a case) to build my new gaming rig. Their prices were very competitive and their shipping fees were inexpensive. They shipped it out within a few days of my placing the order.
When they weren't able to ship my video card on the same day they shipped the rest of my order, they graciously upgraded the shipping method for the video card so that everything would arrive on the same day.
Building your own computer is not for the faint of heart. There are so many little things that can go wrong or be defective. It takes a combination of skill, experience, and luck to build a stable system. Supporting experienced computer builders is hard enough as it is, yet Monarch Computer still provides technical support to all their customers. You can contact them over the phone, through e-mail, or on their own forum. Reading through the forums, they seem to be helpful with the most common of problems.
However, they weren't very responsive over e-mail with my more peculiar problems. That's understandable. I had to do plenty of online research and good ol' troubleshooting that I couldn't expect a regular tech support guy to do.
The bottom line is: I would order from them again. Their website may be a little rough around the edges, but they've got great prices and great customer service to back it up."
