" I went in for an oil change and expected the mechanic to try to scare me into getting things done to my car that weren't necessary just to make money for the business. That didn't happen! I knew I needed some things done as guys I know who have some knowledge of cars have told me I was soon going to need work done on it. Guess what? The service manager said I needed new front brakes and rotors soon which is exactly what my guy friends had said. He also added that the battery was weak. He didn't try to push me or scare me like other mechanics have done. He just explained why I needed the service soon and gave me a price. I got the work done right then because he was honest and didn't try to sell service I didn't need!"
"Received an oil change and tire rotation for less than 20 bucks! It included a safety check and fluid top offs. Took less than an hour and was well done by the technician! I'll be back!!"
"In prior review I mentioned Monro did not have tool to complete alignment and didn't rotate tires as asked."
"3 years I have been getting oil changes every 3 months and I am very satisfied with the service and staff."
"The guys at Monro service in Somersworth, NH were great. The employees were informative and friendly. They explained to me what options I had for my oil change and then went further talking to me about an issue with my vehicle that I told them about. The prices for their hourly work is outrageous to me, at $110/hr but they seem willing to work with customers to try to get them a good deal and to earn their trust to come back for future work. I'm planning to return to them for an issue with my wheels and feel the work will be of quality. As for the turtle comment in my title they do not work fast. They even told me that for he oil change which took close to 45-60 minutes, and that was with an appointment. "
"Oil change was low cost, thanks to a postcard sent by Monro to remind me an oil change was due."
"heads up about Waterloo Monroe Muffler / Brake at 2444 State road 414 shop # 388
I dropped off my car to have the drivers side exhaust manifold replaced and when they put it on their lift they damaged my car ! they sprung the drivers side fender , so when I open the drivers side door it hits the fender and makes a very loud noise and scrapes off the paint on the door and fender where it hits. I showed the shop manager ( DON ) and he completely denies any damage. like I would not know what the car was like when I dropped it off. when I asked him what they would be willing to do about the damage he coped a very bad attitude with me ! he was very nasty and also said I will not do anything so go ahead and file a claim with the corporate office. the joke is on him because I did as soon as I got home and I also filed a complaint against the shop with the ( BBB ) and also seriously considering complaining to the DMV about this incident . this is a Monroe muffler brake shop to avoid at all costs ! "
"Great and fast service! Front desk rep was extremely kind and helpful!"
"Took vehicle in for oil change and tires rotated. Made sure told manager that I wanted tires rotated. Since I had previously suspected they were not rotating tires, I had marked my tires. Before paying, I told the service man that he had not rotated tires. He swore he had, and the manager swore he saw him do it. On my way home, I remembered having a flat tire and had to have plug put in. I had changed the tire myself, so I knew which tire it was. I checked and, of course, the tire with the plug had not been moved. I was lied to by both the service man and manager. I will NOT be back. How else are they cutting corners? I called the manager, and he told me "he trusted his workers." I don't trust either one. "
"Great work done in a timely fashion. My car runs great and i was in and out in a short amount of time. "
"I brought my car into Monro for an oil change and tire rotation. Even though I had a coupon for $29.99, the bill ended up being $38.00 because they charge a $3 disposal fee for the oil and a 9.99% service charge and on top of that NJ state tax. I was not told of these additional charges until I was presented with the bill. As well, the car tech did not reset my oil and filter status in the car even though I asked and they said it would be done. Also, I had a tire pressure issue and they did not mention anything to me about the tires and what pressure they were at-again, I had to ask. Let me clarify that I was the only customer there for most of the time so it's not like it was busy and they were swamped. Hopefully they will work on upgrading their customer service and communication."
"I came to Monro with an engine misfire issue. I did some research and saw that the spark plugs could cause this so I asked for a Tune-up service. I was assured by the owner, Richard Hare, that they would fix the issue. A few hours later I was told that the plugs and wires were replaced but the engine was still misfiring. They believed that the coil pack needed to be replaced and I agreed to have it done. A few more hours passed and he calls me to tell me that the car is ready. I go to his shop and he says that the coil pack made no change in the engine's performance so he didn't charge me for it. "The Tune-up seemed to do the trick" were his words. He then stated that the intake manifold needed to be changed. Before I left his shop, I asked, "Did the Tune-up fix the issue?"; His response was, "Yes", so I shook his hand and thanked him for his services. I drove no more than 100 feet away from the shop, the engine starts misfiring again. I called him the next day and explained what happened. He chuckled and told me that he did exactly what I paid for and he that he didn't have to check for anything else. This was interesting because he had to "check" for something in order to know that the coil pack and the intake manifold needed to be changed. I contacted customer service to make a complaint. The rep listened to me, called the store owner, and offered a free diagnostic of the car. She also said that since it's an older car, it could be the intake manifold. I would've gone back but I remembered his smug attitude when I called about a legitimate concern and changed my mind. I took my car to another mechanic who assured me that he would find out what the problem was. He called me back and told me that it was indeed a coil pack that needed to be replaced. He informed me that I had 3 coil packs and that it was probable that only one was checked. He took time to figure out what was wrong and made sure that it was fixed. He now has my services and Monro never will again."
"If you have all day and don't need your car - go here. They have NO customer service --and when you bring in your coupon from online they will charge you $10 more...pretty sure that's not taxes ....
Very unhappy customer!!!"
"Service is excellent. Staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. "
"I was a walk-in customer in the morning. I was given an appointment time and I returned slightly before that time. My paperwork was taken care of and service began at the appointment time and was completed within the expected time. At all times the personnel were courteous and efficient and did not try to upsell me. I would be happy to recommend them."
