"Update to review. After talking with tech support regarding all of the issues surrounding this airplane, Nitro took care of the problem and has restored my faith in buying online. Thank you Nitro for taking care of the issues.


So far, not so good. My wife ordered me the Dynam 182 trainer after being told and convinced that it was the same, only smaller than the FMS Sky Trainer that I told her I wanted. On the maiden fligh, it loses power and glides into a pole, splitting the wing in half. I glue the wing back together, charge up the battery and when I plug it in, the battery begins smoking and burning up the battery and esc.

I call Nitro and they tell me to ship back all of the electronics for replacement. I do this and when I get the box in, all they have replaced was the battery. The esc is still the same burnt up piece that I sent to them and the servos are also the same as the ones I removed. This is not what I would call good customer service. I even attached a letter explaining to them what had happened. My wife was still wanting to go through them and get me the right airplane, but after this, I am not sending them another dime."

The airplane kit P-51D Mustang was fine and clear instructions. I was able two put it together in about a half an hour (my first experience). I have not flown it, however.
The E-Sky 4CH Flight Simulator is a joke. The DVD that was sent is in chinese which is fine if you speak the language. Needless to say I spent a long time trying to figure out how to load it and 3 hours how to control the planes in the program. The controls are backward to how you would normally fly a plane (I'm a pilot). But after figuring out that - it's fun - but I doubt it will help in flying the actual plane. So I give the Simulator a BIG thumbs DOWN."

"Nitroplanes shipped fast and were helpful when I contacted them. The Sky Trainer 182 is pretty close the the real Cessna 182 in appearance. It flys easy. Just don't forget to turn your throttle down when you turn on your transmitter. Planes have a way of trying to fly by themselves. It's not good for the plane or the inside of your home to forget to do so. Fortunaely, the only damge done was a broken prop and a scared dog."

"I ordered a remote control Catalina model plane, with the international shipping option, and afterwards they told me it was oversized and couldn't ship to New Zealand. I asked if I could pay extra to get the oversized package shipped and they didn't bother trying. I'm unimpressed. They should at least have found out if it could really be shipped internationally before posting the option."

"Nitroplanes is a pleasant and decent company to deal with. Customer service is courteous but slow. I've seen some of their higher end planes and jets in the field, but the budget plane I ordered has a few issues.
The body is a great foamy design, same body used with the better equipped models. The brushed model I got for $86.66 shipped to my door came with a defective servo and a 9.6 volt battery with a 12 volt charger. Either the battery is defective or it is underrated for this particular aircraft, the plane I received will not fly under it's own power for more than 50, 60 feet, and then only hand launched. It has very little lifting ability under it's own power. The landing gear is good, but the glue holding the gear on the wings isn't. I would highly recommend remounting them with epoxy. The transmitter's controls are fine but two of the reverse switches don't work. Test your electronics thoroughly before assembling and getting replacements for defective parts isn't a problem. I do believe that the newer models (brushless) have the issues listed resolved, but note if you get a brushed motor plane you should really consider buying a better battery pack and charger or you might break your plane trying to get it to fly :("

"The A-10 kits arrived in great shape. The instructions were easy to follow and the plane was assembled very quickly. The battery was charged up and everything was ready for the first flight test. There isn't enough power to obtain flight with the batteries provided with the kit. I upgraded the batteries to Li-po and no better results. There isn't enough power to fly the kit. I would avoid buying this A-10 kit."
