"Ordered on Thursday, shipped on Monday, received on Friday, at 20 percent less than anybody else! Yes, they're not good about answering their phones, but everything else is great."
"I ordered two sets of tires on a Sunday. I had not received any information from them by Tuesday so I called, based on information on other reviews, to make sure the tires I had ordered were in stock and expected to ship on time. I was told there was no problems and to "expect a tracking number by 6:00pm". Of course, nothing. I called back the following day "expect a tracking number by 6:00pm", again nothing. I called back the third time and upon making reference to the previous two calls I was told I would get an email immediately with tracking information. I did in fact get emails but they were nothing more than notice of them creating the shipping labels, not physically shipping them. This is not a matter of "hand holding" but one of doing what one says they will, you know follow through or being good for your word. The lack of that and the fact you have people suggesting there is nothing wrong with the lack of that is very, very wrong. So, they eventually arrived. I have so far only mounted one set and of the (4) tires one had a bulge in the sidewall. I had it dismounted and there was a very clean edge split in the bead that could not have possibly been caused by any of the mounting equipment, which I watched being done. Of course Onlinetires.com blamed the tire store that mounted them, apparently Onlinetires.com years of tire experience supersedes the laws of physics. To be frank, it is such a shady outfit it I was not exactly surprised. So as usual nowadays the customer takes the hit. This place sells "old stock" tires and offers very poor customer service so it's a lose-lose for the consumer. You can find most if not all the tires they offer elsewhere for only a few more dollars and I would suggest paying that in hopes of having a better experience. "
"I saw plenty of bad reviews for OnlineTires, but most if not all of them were related to communications and not speed of delievery or quality of tire. This was mostly due to folks ordering tires a few days before they needed them. That is bad planning. I did not need to feel pampered, or have constant communication about my tires. And I did not need them immediately. I just wanted the best price, and had planned on ordering them in advance far enough to allow some extra time for shipping. OnlineTires was great. I got a killer price, they helped out with my $60 rebate from Pirelli, and I had them on my doorstop in Illinois in about 8 days. Noted - I did not receive a tracking #. I did not receive an email telling me they were shipped. I did not get anything telling me that my card had indeed been charged because they had the tires. I got none of that. But I knew that going in - and got what I wanted. The customer service I needed, and the best price on the internet. I highly recommend these folks - unless you are the type of customer that needs constant updates and pampering from online retailers."
"We are very satisfied with OnlineTires. We ordered a pair of tires for our buggy Tuesday afternoon and they arrived 24 hours later."
"Prices are good in comparison to most tire retailers. However, they do not post anything to let customers know when an item is out of stock; rather, they wait for you to order it, then send you an email the next day saying that the item you ordered is out of stock, and "would you like to upgrade to ___ for just a little more?" This is an unscrupulous and annoying way to do business that wastes the customer's time and causes their payment to be tied up in the refund process for several days."
"Seeing the mixed reviews I was somewhat put off to ordering from here but with the best prices around, I had to give them a chance.
I was looking for a tire that has been on backorder for a couple of months now, everywhere locally they were sold out and no word on when they would be getting more.
I called OnlineTires in advance to check if they had them in stock before placing my order. My call was answered quickly and the rep I had talked to was very helpful. He was able to confirm with me that he had a pair of the backordered tire I was looking for and provided me with a shipping quote.
I then ordered it through their website (wanted to pay through Paypal hence I didn’t order over the phone). I received a confirmation email right away, the next day I received an email stating they created a shipping order for my tires through FedEx, and then the next day I recieved the tires at my house.
Overall I am very happy with the price/customer service with my first buying experience from OnlineTires.com. I placed the order on a Tuesday afternoon and received my tires Thursday afternoon (shipping was fast due to both of us being located in CA).
I would definitely do business with them again!"
"I placed an order for achilles atr sport tires. I received an email saying they're on back order for 4-6 weeks. Come to find out that they're discontinued. And I found that out on my own. I cancelled the order that I was on the waiting list for. I ended up ordering the achilles 2233, which is the replacement for the atr sport. 1 hour later my order was cancelled with no email nor phone call to tell me why it was cancelled. HORRIBLE customer service. Cheap prices will not make me deal with them again. I bought tires from NextLevelMotoring instead. Wayyyy better customer service that I'm willing to pay the difference for."
"I ordered two tires from Onlinetires.com on 5/20/13. Obviously they accepted my payment and I received a confirmation to my email. On 5/21/13 I got a FedEx tracking number with an estimated delivery date of 5/23/13, cool! 5/23/13 came and went with no tires at my door. That evening I checked the FedEx tracking but now the delivery date stated N/A. Contacted FedEx on 5/24/13 and was told Onlinetires never shipped the tires. The same day I called Onlinetires and spoke to a gentleman who listened to my concern and took my phone number and said he would find out what's going on and call me back in 15-20 minutes. Over an hour later no call back so I attempted to call them again but got the voicemail three times.
Update, on 5/24/13 Joey called me back and told me the distributor failed to send the tires and because of the holiday weekend they would ship out Tuesday, 5/28. This morning 5/28 I spoke with Joey who told me he personally saw my tires loaded on the truck this morning. Joey was helpful so far but still waiting on my tires, will update later.
Update, my order arrived at my front door this morning, 5/29. I will order from OnlineTires in the future just not if I need them quick. Price was outstanding even with the price of shipping, I saved about $50 per tire, including mount and balance compared to a local shops quote."
"Order was placed on May 19. Tracking number received on May 20 and delivered today. Very satisfied with the service."
"I saw the unfavorable previous reviews, but have also been to great hotels others rated horribly. With that in mind, and seriously needing four new tires, after eliminating a different site I'd used before because they were over priced for the tire I wanted, I first selected a place other than onlinetires.com, but when it turned out they had only 1 of my tires in stock, I then went with onlinetries.com. Though they were $4.00 more per tire and a little higher on shipping but without hesitation I phoned their toll free number. My order was speedily handled, I gave them their stock item # and received confirmation they had 4 in stock; I paid via paypal and was told the tires would ship either that afternoon or the next day. This was Monday May 13. The next day I sent an email to tiresonline.com customer service requesting a tracking number and got a prmopt reply with two numbers representing two sets of 2 tires each. Long story short, having ordered on Monday, the tires arrived early afternoon that Friday, and I had them mounted Saturday (today May 18). Furthermore, checking the manufacture date of my new Firestone Precision Touring tires revealed they were all done between 37th week - 40th week of 2012. I agree with Realist and C1rcu1t that orders should be placed by phone instead of email in order to be able to confirm tires are in stock. After that, their follow up with tracking shipment information allowed me to follow arrival progress. I am very satisfied with this vendor and my tires and would suggest prospective purchasers weigh all options but don't eliminate onlinetires.com just based on a few bad reviews."
"Ordered a set of tires from their site. Two days later got an email from them saying that they do not have the tires in stock but they are back ordered and would be available in 6 weeks. I really wanted the tire so I was tempted to wait. Just to be sure, I checked with the manufacture and was told that the tires are actually discontinued. Had I not have followed up behind onlinetires.com, I would have waited 6 weeks for nothing! Poorly run/managed. Should have heeded the other reviewers warnings and not wasted my time with these people."
"This isn't a bad company to deal with DEPENDING on how you handle it. Their prices are cheap for a reason, as a company the office is very unorganized for a business on such a large scale as theirs. If you're planning on making an order that requires shipping make sure to either call in after you place the order or place the order over the phone. I personally went to pick up the tires in person after reading all the reviews on this company. After placing the order I emailed the customer service regarding pickup times and was informed the model of tires I wanted were on backorder for the next month. They really need to revamp the connection between the warehouse inventory and website inventory It was something I expected so I ended up just choosing another tire instead. Drove down, went to the main office to get my paperwork (took a little longer than expected since they don't really organize their paperwork) and picked up the tires. I did not receive old tires either, the ones I purchased were made in Jan 2013. By they amount of people running around in the warehouse and the moving of tires it's kind of hard to believe they'd be moving old product. Overall it was a decent experience, I didn't have high expectations and got some tires for a good price."
"This company sucks and has horrible customer service. they might have the cheapest tires but they are tires that have been sitting around for years. Bought two brand new tires from them a few months ago, they were manufactured in 2008. Now, one of the tires is defective and they will not do anything about it. Try to avoid this company!"
"I ordered 4 tires from online tires in December 2012,
although there was a delay with the shipping company who was transporting my tires, Jonathan with onlinetires customer service was helpful in keeping me up to date with where my tires were, and was continuously contacting me to tell me what was going on with the shipping. Customer service was apologetic and tried their best to get the tires rushed to me. Tires are on my car now, they were received in great condition."
