"OpticsPlanet takes orders for products they don't have in stock, but will list the item on the website as in stock. When you email them they do not respond (says 24-28 hours) its been 4 days. Ive called them and sit on hold for 10 minutes with no one answering. I ordered a part that said it was in stock, they charged my PayPal, then hours later I get a automated email stating its out of stock and will be shipped in 14-21 business days. This company is garbage! "
"I was a very loyal Opticsplanet customer with spending around 3 to $8,000 on 18 to 43 orders per year.
In recent months Opticsplanet has gone down the toilet!! They used to have good deals but have recently added sales tax on all orders which ends up at MSRP, and online tax is only legally required if you are a resident of the state where the store resides. Even when you have a coupon code it automatically is removed when you go to check out at times. Their product are always on backorder and shipping delayed by 1 to 3 days. The biggest is with their customer service my last order with Opticsplanet was for a thermal optic and other merchandise...
I place an order over the phone an was told everything on my order was in stock and was guaranteed it would be shipping out that day and arrive the next via overnight shipping. But the sales rep did not inform me that there were special forms that needed to be filled out, even knowing my $8000.00 order was to be overnighted I wasn't even given a phone call to inform me that forms had to be completed before the item could be shipped.
After not getting a tracking number I called to inquire only to be hung up on by the customer service after waiting on hold for 45 minutes I finally got in touch with them after a 28 min hold the following morning to get things cleared up. I spoke with a woman who sent me a link with the form attached to fill out, after filling out and returning it, I was insured that there was no other information they needed and reassured my package would ship out that day keep in mind it was supposed to be "overnighted".
Again later that evening on the second day I was not sent a tracking number and called to inquire only to be placed on hold several more times and informed that I had not been specific enough about what I was using the scop for "I'm sorry hug hunting wasn't good enough "!! day 3 and my order is still not resolved! "**** THIS Bs"!!! I'm canceling my order and buying from sportoptics.com or TVNC.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"I ordered the Magpul Hunter X-22 stock for my Ruger 10/22 because it was a great deal. Come to find out, a week later my order was cancelled due to California "Laws and Regulations." I can get the same stock down the street at Turner's Outdoorsmen and a plethora of other online retailers including Amazon with free 2-day shipping. OpticsPlanet waited a week to tell me that my order was cancelled. I tried to call and I waited half an hour before hanging up because no one answered the phone. OpticsPlanet obviously needs to read up on California Laws and they definitely need to work on their customer service skills. Overall this was a terrible experience, this is the first and last time I will ever order from OpticsPlanet."

Told customer service I made a wrong decision selecting the holster and wanted to exchange it for the next size up.
