"On Feb 25, 2020 I purchased NIOSH certified 'respirators' from this website Optics Planet. Prior to placing the order the website indicated these respirators were in stock. My money was withdrawn from my credit card at time of purchase. I also had to pay a $9 shipping fee. This was my first time ordering from this company. I felt relieved knowing that I was able to order these respirators. My family and I were planning to use them against a possible viral outbreak. At the time of ordering, February 25, 2020, I was following the suggestions of the CDC to purchase these respirators.

So imagine my dismay and extreme anger to receive an email on March 3, 2020, from Optics Planet stating that they had to cancel my order due to lack of supplies and would be refunding the money I paid. WTH! How could there be a lack of inventory when during purchasing these items were in stock? Are they using an antiquated computer system that cannot keep up with the current status of products in stock? Or is this based on incompetent, unorganized and ineffective employees? Or better yet, perhaps those who ordered these respirators had their orders cancelled so they can be re-sold to the next highest bidder (although the company's website currently claims they're out of stock). Unbelievable!

Suffice to say, I'm pi**ed! There are few available respirators left on the Internet and the ones that are available are being sold at an astronomical price. This company is punishing me because I was astute enough to purchase these respirators before the demand for them exploded. Now my family and I have nothing. What are we supposed to do now?

Too bad I was placed in an urgent situation which required me to purchase respirators from this company as soon as I saw that they had them 'in stock', otherwise I would've done my usual company research and would've seen the many negative reviews this company has. I will NEVER order from them again & I strongly suggest you do the same."

Packaging is typical, and somewhat weak for expensive delicate items. If you can wait for it, and can stack all the coupons and deals offered, sit back and when it shows up most times its worth it., in a hurry or want it fast, pay the extra and shop elsewhere. "

"The only good thing I can say about optics planet is that they do have good prices and that's where it ends. Since I placed my first order its been nothing but a headache. I have been given wrong information about a product multiple times. Received wrong items multiple times. I have had three separate orders that were canceled because they did not have the product. The one time they called me to see if another product would work since the one I ordered was out of stock and were willing to give me a discounted price for the product. Thought that was nice, then when I received the item and it was not the one we agreed on. Trying to keep track of all charges on my credit card while having to return so many items was the biggest pain. On one order I had 3 separate charges to my credit card. I feel like I need an accountant just to go over my credit card statement to make sure I was refunded for all my returns. Two of my orders did not show up in my order history. They couldn't help me with that. Every time I called them with a question I would feel like my question was answered only to find out that the information I was given was incorrect or did not solve my problem. My suggestion for anyone who wants to order from this site, order only one item with each order. This way if what happened to me happens to you at least it will be easy to track. "
