"I attempted to cancel order 30 minutes after placing order on a Friday. Contacted CSR thru chat feature. Chat response is VERY SLOW. CSR stated: "I'll forward this matter to our Order Processing Team. They'll definitely try to cancel this order within 1 business day." On Monday, I followed up with Overstock and was informed by CSR that the order could not be canceled (even though it had not been shipped). They charge a 15% restock fee for electronic items AND you have to pay for shipping. I'll never use Overstock again."
"I have ordered from overstock before, only a couple times, once for some bedding and another for speaker stands. no problems those two times. what really irked me this time was that i ordered a collection of Bone comic books all in one book. I researched, and researched, and almart.com and amazon.com were only a dollar or two higher than overstock. so i went with overstock thinking that well, i had a good experience before, i'll be ok. wrong. here it is 13 business days later, nearly 20 actual days later and no book. the insist tht it takes 2-15 business days to send. i swear, if i would have gotten it from amazon.com, i would have had it like a day or two after i ordered it. say no to bargain bin, clearance rack overstock.com"
"The prices are great with coupons, but shipping is kind of sketchy.
Their coupons can be misleading. "XX% off Anything" doesn't mean "anything", as "media items" aren't always eligible... yet adding $0.99 pens will make the coupon apply to everything. Very confusing.
They shipped my Xbox 360 in the mail. Yeah, that's right, regular postal mail with no signature confirmation. That's fine for a $20 DVD or something, but I really didn't like seeing that my new Xbox had been sitting on my porch all day. And it's not like I was cheap... Overstock didn't offer any shipping options. So, my $0.99 pen arrived via UPS with a tracking number, while $450 worth of Xbox gear was sent in the US Mail with a delivery confirmation number that showed the package hadn't even been shipped.
I doubt I'll buy from them again, unless they have a crazy sale and I know I'll be home when the item arrives."
"On 5/3/06 I placed an order for a subscription to Orbit Magazine. Wait time for the subscription to start was listed as 12-16 weeks, excessively long but I decided I could live with it. When I received nothing after 16 weeks I contacted Overstock.com multiple times, both by phone and E-mail. Not once was any "customer service" rep able to give me any information, not even the ones who could actually manage to speak something resembling English. The standard line was that they would start an inquiry and I would be contacted by phone or E-mail within 24 hours. Of course that never happened. Finally, after several weeks of trying to resolve the problem, I received an E-mail stating that they were canceling the order. No explanation, no subscription, they simply used my money for 5 months and then failed to supply what was ordered. I buy quite a bit of stuff online and this is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I highly recommend you avoid Overstock.com and stick with a more reputable seller."

Went online to print out a return label to ship it back (they do charge a restocking fee), but credit was refunded quickly and everything went smooth. Prices were great."

First i placed an order for power supply units, instead of sending those they sent me useless inktapes. They said that there was a problem with the order and they could not fulfill it. I told them the item is still listed but for a different price now but they refuse to send that to me either since it was more expensive then. I asked for a full refund but to this day 8/16 I have still seen nothing in my bank account despite sending back their worthless package over 2 weeks ago. ITS BEEN A MONTH since my original purchase and I have no power supply units and no money!!!"
"A warning to anyone considering purchase of music from this site. Their method of shipment involves pasting the CD case between 2 sheets of paperboard (thinner than what your cereal box is composed of no less). I had no problem replacing the 1st two CD cases that arrived looking like someone had stomped on them, but the 3rd CD arrived gouged and unplayable. Promises were made via livechat on 08-08-06 to send an RMA label via email, but the email I received on 08-11-06 stated "Return of a gouged CD. Customer did not enage in chat." This is a blatant lie as I spoke with their rep (waited for a response is more like it) for more than forty minutes. 08-14-06 I have been waiting their rep "Bruce" to help me for the last 32 minutes....."
"Beware their shipping! Two days after I made a purchase I received a shipping notification from them with a tracking number. The number didn't work and emailed them. They said there was an error and to contact them if I didn't receive my package within 10 business days. The package finally showed up and I checked UPS again. They didn't ship the package until 12 days after they sent me notification that it had been shipped. That's 14 days after I ordered the item."

At $479.99 it was easily the best price on the Web (plus a 12% discount for new customers), and given Overstock's amazingly cheap shipping charge, I jumped on the deal despite the poor reviews on this site. (FatWallet customers ordering the Nikon were very happy with their purchases, according to buyer reviews.)
I ordered on 7/22 and received my camera 7/28. When I had a question about shipment, I contacted Overstock via a live chat. It worked beautifully. The CSR replied immediately (there was literally a 2 second delay when I clicked on the button to activate the chat) and we conversed live for several minutes with personalized answers mixed with stock "Please review our return policy at this link"-type lines.
The box was from Nikon and clearly labeled "refurbished." It contained all the parts and manuals (English & Spanish) as advertised in Overstock's description. The body didn't have any nicks or scratches or even a speck of dust. I used a piece of free software from Opanda to check on the number of previous shutter releases (works like a car odometer), which told me that my first shot was the first shot of the camera (that sounds odd, I know, so maybe the factory can reset the counter).
Everything works smoothly, though it's only been my first day of operation. Overall, I am thrilled with the quality of the refurbished machine, the price and total value, from speed of shipping to customer service. Fantastic.
