"Do not buy jewelry from this company. No quality at all.
I bought a set of rings. Looked nice enough in the picture. And there were two 5 star ratings. I should NOT have believed it though; previously bought a pretty ring that lost one of its CZ and post less than perfect rating, they never put it on the site. If you will notice, they never put anything less than positive rating to sell their product. If you want honest, go to HSN.com. They post everything good and bad and for you to judge for yourself.
Overstock.com is just another ripoff company. I bet the reviews I saw were just bogus. Polished silver my ass. It look and feel like plastic that was sprayed over with metallic silver.
I was going to give one of the rings as a gift to my husband so we could have a matching pair. I was soooo utterly disappointed. It resembled a plastic ring you can get out a 0.25 cent gumball machine. No kidding! It weighed near nothing.
I was at least expecting some kind of weight. The ring was just like a tire shell. And when you take it off, the edge scraped against your knuckles.
I've made a few purchases that were never really the greatest (even expensive ones), but I'd say, this took the cake in being a CHEAPY, crappy product. I guess I just keep hoping that I'd get a decent deal for something nice.
There goes my husband's birthday gift. Then there's the ridiculous re-stocking fee they charge. Each ring cost me $4.95 just for restocking.
When you go to do the return label, they don't let you choose both items on one label, but make you select it one at a time. You have the option of printing your own label or using theirs. I did one of each, but did not really know that they'd charge you $3.75 for the package. The shipping really would cost me about a buck to return with my own postage!
I wasted $14.00 for nothing and a ruined birthday!
Thanks for squat!
P.S. ever see the instructions on how to put the label on for returns. They tell you to use their label and put it back on the original box and not to obstruct the old label. How am I suppose to do that when my packaging was a small envelope and the label is the same size of the envelope!?
update: I made a previous purchase (ring w/ 3 CZ). It was okay for the price. Until I actually wore it. I didn't bang it on anything or did anything rigorous. The prongs broke and I lost two CZ's. Found one on the floor but couldn't locate the other. I threw the damn ring in the trash. Imagine my shock and disappointment! How embarassing it could've been if someone spotted it before me! But I can't return the thing because I bought so long two months ago (and didn't wear it until now)."
"The item I received is clearly not what was pictured or described. I returned it once and the replacement they sent was the same incorrect item again! To top it off, they are now offering excuses and do not want to take back the item they sent me.
I've been a long-time Overstock.com customer and I've ordered a wide range of products from them in the past. After this experience, I will not be ordering anything from them again."
"Don't trust feedback/reviews posted on their website. Also don't trust whatever the customer rep says! I purchased a featherbed and a set of down pillows. I was looking for goose feathers product (better than duck feathers) and one of the featherbeds with raving reviews on their website did not mention feather type. I used the online csr chat feature and the customer rep said he looked it up and that it was filled with goose feathers. I went ahead and bought the featherbed. On arrival, the label says 100% duck feathers! Which made the deal not so sweet. Obviously return was not convenient (and expensive with return shipping) and for now we have decided to get used to the duck feathers . I posted the review for this feather bed on their website so the future customers would know it is duck (and not goose which is much better) feather product. I then learned that the reviews are parsed by someone at overstock and anything that may harm the sales is held back! My review is yet to appear >two weeks after posting! To test the theory, I posted a all-goodies review for the pillow and it appeared within hours! Even my featherbed review was nicely worded with just the facts that it was duck feathers and that the csr had misstated details. I guess that tells me something about the quality of the retailer? I will probably not trust anything from overstock.com again!"
"Bought quake 4 collectors dvd edition for $13.16 with free usps shipping that also included online tracking. It arrived in an odd package (two pieces of a thick brown paper glued together around the game box), but everything arrived quickly and undamaged.
From what one can see on their webpage they tend to be vague about the product's details and probably dont realize what they're stocking even if you asked them. For example, quake4 collectors and special dvd edition are the same item, but one was $13.16 while the other was around $35. So be 100% sure you know what you are getting or you might not quite get what you expected."
"Order a new book and Overstock.com had the cheapest price shipped. Received in normal amount of time. I would buy from them again."
"UPS lost the package which is not Overstock's fault, but Ocerstock's customer service has not been very helping at all. In fact, they are pretty useless. It's been two weeks since I ordered the merchandise, and they finally said that they would request UPS to trace the package, when UPS was already telling me that they had lost the package a week ago. They told me that they were going to contact me after another 5-10 days before they ship me the replacement. They are the worst!!!"
"Wrong item sent. Contacted Overstock.com for return authorization. Kept getting emails asking for more information. They finally agreed on 2/23/06, "David, I have contacted our Return Processing Center. Instructions on how to process your return will be emailed to you within the next 2 to 4 business days." As of 4/15/06 still no return information or responses to follow up emails. Now the 20 day return period has expired. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT OVERSTOCK.COM again and recommend that they be avoided.

"Bought several different bedding items recently including a featherbed, foam topper, and feather pillow. Packages arrived quickly and well packaged. I buy several items each month online and would certainly consider them again for my future purchases. Thank you!"
"In a word, HORRIBLE! We ordered an area rug, and received a totally different, furry rug that looked nothing like what we ordered. We wanted them to send us the correct item, as we gave them the tracking number of the return, and they refused. I talked to a supervisor who was very rude, and would not send out the correct item even though it was their mistake. I was a supervisor for Amazon.com for 3 1/2 years, and if any customer received an expensive incorrect item from us, we would send them a call tag and make a replacement order immediately. BUYER BEWARE! Poor customer service prctices, and borderline fraudulant activity, as it seems a lot of people are receiving incorrect items. This may be intentional, as they offer poor service and hope the buyer just gives up. I'm taking this to the Better Business Bureau."
"Very bad experience. I received the wrong item. I ordered an item costing $60 and received an item costing $25.
I used the chat service to resolve this. They said they would send me a return label. I have yet to receive the return label and it's been a week. My concern is if I send the item I receive back to them I would no longer even have that to show for my $60. It's likely to fall off into a black hole somewhere.
I won't be doing business with Overstock.com ever again."
"Ordered a few DVDs, just for myself. Within a couple days the DVDs had "shipped". The tracking information never changed, the package had never been recieved... days went by, then weeks went by. I contacted Overstock and their rep told me my DVDs had shipped but USPS hadn't updated the status, and to be patient. A few more weeks went by and I contacted Overstock again. They initiated an investigation into the package's location. A few hours later the package had been "returned" and they were issuing a replacement. It's possible the package was lost, but it sounds like they never shipped it. I might consider buying from again, but I'd be wary."
"This store has the most deceptive entrapment tactics I have ever faced while purchasing from an online retailer. I recently made a purchase with a 10% off coupon code that stated that the discount will be reflected after the order has been submitted. Stupidly, I took their word and placed the order only to find that there was NO discount at all.
So I try their "Live Chat" customer service feature to try to remedy the situation. Not only is their customer service slow, it took me 30 minutes of arguing to get them to agree to credit my account back with the discount. Not only was I unable to cancel the order 5 minutes after I had placed it, customer service argued that there was no such coupon. Of course, I provided the link to the coupon that is hosted on their website, but the most they would offer me was a credit for future purchases.
If they refuse to cancel your order or give you the price that is advertised, argue the hell outta them. Trust me, even though they say they cant cancel or refund your order, they can.
I am NEVER purchasing from this retailer again."
"Worst online customer support of any company I've ever dealt with. And I do a great deal of online purchasing. Stick with a reputable company like Amazon.com. Customer service with Overstock.com is deceitful, fraudulent and worse than worthless."
"Ordered DVD, shows instock, got confirmation email, then my credit card was charged. One month later I didn't get my order but an email says the item I paid for is out of stock. Sucks."
"be careful when returning a merchandise to these people. they will try and wait it out until the return period is over. they even made it harder for the customer to contact them by not showing their 800 number on their website. but, here it is, 1-***-***-**** "
