"My purchase had not shipped four days after ordering and no follow up was attempted by PCNation, even though my credit card had been charged right away. Upon calling them, I was told my shipment was on hold until I paid them an additional "tax handling fee" as their distributor is located in California and has to bill PCNation the sales tax for any shipments to that state.

First off, this communication should have been initiated by PCNation. Not contacting me and sitting on the product for four days after collecting the money is simply unacceptable customer service.

Secondly, upon receipt of the invoice I noted that there is no proof to the buyer that this tax was really paid. This may result in the buyer having to report unpaid sales tax to the state of California at the end of the year. Even upon request, PCNation has not been able to provide me with a tax invoice, and the extra charge was billed instead as "handling fee". The entire process looks odd at best and shady at worst.

In the end, one of PCNation's customer service reps did promise me assistance with any tax audit should it occur. Really? Unlike thousands of similar drop-shipment companies across the U.S., PCNation seems incapable of fully disclosing all charges, fees, and incidentals up front.

PCNation has excellent prices, but with all the complications I experienced, it's just not worth it. I plan to take my business elsewhere next time.

"I ordered a product which the website stated was "In Stock." I then received an e-mail requesting that I call them; I called and they informed me that it was, in fact, NOT in stock. They refunded me and I was on my way. So--a bit annoyed at the misinformation, but at least they handled the situation well."

"I shopped PCNation for the lowest price on new equipment.
I had to call after 3 days to see why my order did not process.
Customer rep said they dropped the ball. He got it processed right then.
If I hadn't called, I don't think they would have contacted me at all.
6 out of 10 on the experience. I would use them again but check up on my order.
