Long and short of it is that this once highly regarded mom and pop shop imploded rather spectacularly in January of 2016, leaving a month's worth of orders unfulfilled and providing no refunds. "I bought a power a PowerPro I8:17 from PowerNotebooks.com in December of 2008. I received the notebook shortly after a week of putting in the order. I spoke with Donald about what my needs were for a laptop. I wanted a laptop for light gaming (internet WOW, LOR Battle for middle-earth, etc), email and web surfing. I also wanted a laptop that was portable and can be powered up in the car. He recommended the PowerPro I 8:17 and I have been very pleased with this laptop. I had one minor problem (Bluetooth drivers were not loaded) and I spoke with tech support on New Year’s Day and we resolved the problem. "Ordered a Sager laptop from this site after seeing how highly rated they were on reseller ratings. I was not disappointed. Within 15 minutes they had phoned both the person I was purchasing the laptop for and myself to thank me for my purchase and to ask if there was anything else they could do for me.
They also wanted to make sure that I understood what I was getting into by purchasing a system without an operating system as other users have had issues with that.
E-mails were returned promptly and all questions answered.

Laptop arrived by ups ground a day before scheduled and was just as described. It came in a package roughly 24"X18"X8" and weighing roughly 12 pounds. Included in the box was the laptop, the basic carrying case that I purchased along with the laptop (it is black and has two zipper pockets one larger that the laptop goes into and the smaller which you can place accessories, in bubble wrap was the battery (the battery fits snug into the laptop and sticks out only a little which is encouraging. I have yet to test the battery life, typical laptop batteries allow 1-2 hrs run time), two CD's (Cyberlink powerDVD suite with cd key, and Driver disk), The driver disk contains a index.html page that the user may view and install drivers, this enables the user to be very minimalistic if they only wish to install certain things instead of having the laptop preloaded with garbage. The only concern I had here was that there be a better description of the different drivers. The fingerprint software is nice, there is also face recognition software that I have played with a little bit. It seems that you can set it up to randomly check or check every time for a face match to make sure it is you using the laptop. There is the ability to set up as many users as you desire for both fingerprint software and the face recognition software. There is also a program that allows for encryption of files for protection of your data.

As my first Sager notebook I was impressed with the spec's and am even more impressed with its performance. I did not get the top of the line model yet it still performs spectacularly with graphics and gaming.
Donald e-mailed me asking how I liked the laptop after I received it and again asked if there was anything he could do for me.
This company goes above and beyond the normal company to ensure that you have a smooth buying experience and you know what you are getting into.

On another note the laptop I purchased was discounted shortly after I purchased it. I did not receive any correspondence from Donald offering a refund of the difference (120 bucks) nor have I asked yet, but I plan to.

update: I did receive correspondence from Donald after I posted this review thanking me for the review but also updating me on the price. The lower price had a different configuration but the same link on the website. It had one step down on the processor than it had previously so that is why the price was cheaper."
